Please don't give him player of the season this year because we all know what happens next!

Perhaps that's an idea. We hold a poll near the time, decide which player we really most want rid of, all vote for him and then he gets sold. Result all round!

I think it was Pleat on the radio the other day that was really struggling with Assou-Ekotto. He decided it was much easier to call him Couto.

Well at the moment it's probably a toss up between andrews and Pedersen with Andrews probably winning (or losing depending on your point of view) but give it time! We could find another scapegoat by then.

are you for real? stop being so bloody pedantic! We all know it was ACTUALLY Givet's goal! Roberts may have deflected it, but I still consider it Givet's goal. In the same way a minor deflection off an oppo player wouldn't change the goalscorer.

It wasn't a minor deflection though and the rules are a bit different when you're on the same team. Roberts touch was crucial, it wouldn't have gone in without it so it is his goal.

I suppose so. I just dont understand why certain rules are in place I guess. Kind of a pointless rule imo. It was Givet's intention to get that ball in, not Roberts', so he should get the credit. Dubious goals panel need a re-think! Having said that, it might help Jason's confidence a tad?

It's allright for you waggy. You have the benefit of slo-mo replays from all angles with a dodgy ayrab commentator, a pint in your hand, the likely company of the town drunk whilst we have to make do with live action, proper mates and a good atmosphere. ;)

roberts got in the way of the header, i think his header was still going in from my view in the Jack Walker stand. No doubt you have an advantage watching it on the telly in the pub!!

I watched it again on MOTD and waggy is right, the keeper would have saved it if Roberts hadn't got a crucial deflection.

In my opinion it should go down as a Roberts assist, as he assisted it going into the net.

The intent was Givets.

I'm liking your logic. You should be on the dubious goals panel. :tu:
