gumboots Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Please don't give him player of the season this year because we all know what happens next! Perhaps that's an idea. We hold a poll near the time, decide which player we really most want rid of, all vote for him and then he gets sold. Result all round!

LeftWinger Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 The same David Pleat who mispronounces the majority of players he commentates on ITV? I think it was Pleat on the radio the other day that was really struggling with Assou-Ekotto. He decided it was much easier to call him Couto.
OhmiBRFC Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I've got my four year old niece running around singing 'Ole Ole Ole - Givet, Givet'. It's a shame videos cannot be share with external sources from Facebook.

gumboots Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Who do you reckon that might be gumboots? Well at the moment it's probably a toss up between andrews and Pedersen with Andrews probably winning (or losing depending on your point of view) but give it time! We could find another scapegoat by then.
waggy Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Classy so far this season - 2 goals already too (yesterdays was his really). Bargain signing - well spotted Sam roberts scored the goal, the keeper had the header covered before our dynamic centre forward chested it past him
mellison24 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 roberts scored the goal, the keeper had the header covered before our dynamic centre forward chested it past him are you for real? stop being so bloody pedantic! We all know it was ACTUALLY Givet's goal! Roberts may have deflected it, but I still consider it Givet's goal. In the same way a minor deflection off an oppo player wouldn't change the goalscorer.
Eddie Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 It wasn't a minor deflection though and the rules are a bit different when you're on the same team. Roberts touch was crucial, it wouldn't have gone in without it so it is his goal.

Roberts touch was crucial, it wouldn't have gone in without it so it is his goal. I suppose so. I just dont understand why certain rules are in place I guess. Kind of a pointless rule imo. It was Givet's intention to get that ball in, not Roberts', so he should get the credit. Dubious goals panel need a re-think! Having said that, it might help Jason's confidence a tad?
thenodrog Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 roberts scored the goal, the keeper had the header covered before our dynamic centre forward chested it past him It's allright for you waggy. You have the benefit of slo-mo replays from all angles with a dodgy ayrab commentator, a pint in your hand, the likely company of the town drunk whilst we have to make do with live action, proper mates and a good atmosphere.

gazsimm Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 roberts scored the goal, the keeper had the header covered before our dynamic centre forward chested it past him roberts got in the way of the header, i think his header was still going in from my view in the Jack Walker stand. No doubt you have an advantage watching it on the telly in the pub!!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I watched it again on MOTD and waggy is right, the keeper would have saved it if Roberts hadn't got a crucial deflection.

modes98 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Shot on target from Givet! I just want it to be his because he is in my fantasy team.
waggy Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Shot on target from Givet! I just want it to be his because he is in my fantasy team. tough it was that mans roberts goal
mellison24 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 tough it was that mans roberts goal you win this one but I'll be BACK!! Mwahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
rebelmswar Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 tough it was that mans roberts goal In my opinion it should go down as a Roberts assist, as he assisted it going into the net. The intent was Givets.
Stuart Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 In my opinion it should go down as a Roberts assist, as he assisted it going into the net. The intent was Givets. I'm liking your logic. You should be on the dubious goals panel.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hopefully his knee injury is nothing serious: Givet Knee Concern
Clitherover Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hopefully his knee injury is nothing serious: Givet Knee Concern I sincerely hope so, losing him is one of the last things we need at the moment.
philipl Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 That is worrying. Losing Givet for a long spell turns us into serious relegation contenders.
