T4E Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I don't see it as a must win game. I do see it as a game that we should be going all out to try and win. As you say, the performance today and the way we play will answer a lot of questions. I agree - I don't mean must win in the sense that if we don't we're doomed, more that there's very little excuse for not winning a game like this.

Ozz Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 It's about time we saw some goals for us today. Just been in town and there's a load of Wolves fans drinking, all of them in the Gold shirts. Awful accent. 3,000 pished up Wolves fans means a loud away following, hope we can provide the same, but somehow doubt it. 2-1 Rovers.

philipl Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Dunny behind Roberts. Robinson, Jacobsen, Nelsen, Givet, Chimbonda, Diouf, Andrews, Grella, Pedersen, Dunn, Roberts. Not sure where Samba is. Almost threw my lunch up. Then I realised it was your guess and not the official line-up!
T4E Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Almost threw my lunch up. Then I realised it was your guess and not the official line-up! Just make sure you have it well and truly digested by 2.15

Dunnfc Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Tugay almsot had it if nelsen hadn't been on the bench but started...Philip you ready to digest?
Guest Kamy100 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Negative line up, Sam should have started with Kalanic and Di Santo. Few people unhappy where I am sat.
RoverRich Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 We had better see some goals from Andrews and Roberts or else a number of people will be moaning. I am quite disappointed by that line up as I had expected us to go 2 up front seeing as we are playing Wolves at home but we will have to settle for that and hope we make the most of it. Hopefully it will be more a case of 4-3-3 with Peds and Diouf either side of Roberts. Would have liked to see Kalinic or Di Santo start but we do have a very strong bench in case things are not going as planned.
Martin Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 With this line-up a good start is essential. One thing for sure is this. Allardyce will be doing this his way, regardless of the fans' view. Gotta admire him for that.
Eddie Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Horrible. What's the point? I think we'll still win, Wolves are a poor side, but if we can't put out two strikers against Wolves who can we do it against?
LeChuck Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Negative line up, Sam should have started with Kalanic and Di Santo. Few people unhappy where I am sat. It depends how the midfield support Roberts. If Dunn plays 'in the hole' behind him and Pedersen and Diouf are more wingers than midfielders then it should be fine. With McCarthy unavailable and Di Santo coming back from injury, this formation was inevitable really.
Iceman Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 One (Please don't use that word again)ing striker at home again! Sam better hope we win, or there will be war.
Silencio Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Awful selection from Sam, particularly against Wolves. How Roberts stays in the team is beyond me. Disappointed to see Diouf and Andrews still in there as well. Extremely negative choice of players.
RovertheHill Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Disappointing line up. Our bench looks better than half the first team. I hope Roberts has his shooting boots on but if past history is anything to go by I doubt it. Hope Allardyce isn't doing this to prove a point to those who chanted last time…
philipl Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 This selection has nothing to do with beating Wolves and everything to do with Sam's ego taking on the boo boys.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 ROVERS: Robinson ©, Jacobsen, Samba, Givet, Chimbonda, Grella, Andrews, Diouf, Dunn, Pedersen, Roberts. Subs: Brown (GK), Nelsen, Emerton, Kalinic, Joilett, Di Santo, Salgado. WOLVES: Hennessey, Stearman, Henry ©, Keogh, Halford, Berra, Jarvis, Milijas, Hill, Mancienne, Doyle. Subs: Hahnemann (GK), Elokobi, Edwards, Surman, Jones, Vokes, Maierhofer Poor negative selection by Sam imo. Roberts shouldn't be starting he has been rubbish so far and he simply cannot convert chances. Probably will win this after saying it but i think this has a 0-0 or a 1-1 draw written all over it.
Amo Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Sam really needs a result today or he'll face an inevitable backlash from the fans. Perhaps he still wants to protect Kalinic but, saying that, Wolves is the perfect confidence-booster for him.
Tango Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Can't think of many teams who'll be putting out that defensive a line-up against Wolves this season. Should think McCarthy's jumping for joy in the away dressing room.
Guest Kamy100 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Massive problems outside the ground, season ticket holders tickets not working, lots of people outside the ground, amazed that kick off hasn't been delayed. Lots of gaps particularly in BBE.
vyeo Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Surprised and unhappy with the lineup. Hope i'm proved wrong.
