Brfcrule1 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Now please don't slate me for this it is just an idea watching tonight's Spain/Germany game prob. after the takeover how about the former Man Utd man Gerard Pique. He could play anywhere across the back, is tall, also can play the holding midfield role. 23, still young, so would improve with age. Obviously would command a fee but maybe a player we could get after the takeover. What does everyone think?. Most importantly is 6'3" so almost as big as our big Chris so I think it be a good addition at both ends of the pitch. Also another good one to go for after the takeover would be either Podolski/Klose both goalscorers but all really depends when the takeover goes through.

It doesn't matter who takes us over, we're NEVER going to be in a position to sign one of Barcelona's best defenders.
BiggusLaddus Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Why not see if we can get Xavi and Iniesta while we're at it. That Torres has looked a bit off the pace lately, maybe he would like a change of scene.

He would command at least £20 mill after establishing himself as a first teamer for both Barca and Spain...
brfcshabba Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Pity the post was quoted it's got through my ignore filter
thenodrog Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Unbelievable! 'Care in the community' certainly has a lot to answer for.
Bazzanotsogreat Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Consider yourself slated! He would command at least £20 mill after establishing himself as a first teamer for both Barca and Spain... Probably the best CB in the world atm with Lucio. A fee of closer to 40 million would probably be closer.
Backroom Tom Posted July 7, 2010 Backroom Posted July 7, 2010 I think this takeover business is going to someones head. Either that or I missed the joke.
Hi Mack Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Probably the best CB in the world atm with Lucio. A fee of closer to 40 million would probably be closer. I do wonder if some people actually watch football? Elia and Pique have been mentioned on the last couple of pages! I prefer the Benjani,Beattie talk!
Inta Beaver Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Probably the best CB in the world atm with Lucio. A fee of closer to 40 million would probably be closer. I'd add Nelson to that list of CB after his world cup display, he must be worth £40 then!
Mr. E Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Rooney or Saurez would be a better option up top. I would not touch Rooney, or any other of the "golden generation" with a 10 meter pole. And I'm being completely serious. Roberts may be unable to hit a barn door, but he has more guts and determination than those mammas boys will ever dream of having.

Roberts may be unable to hit a barn door, but he has more guts and determination than those mammas boys will ever dream of having. Something was undoubtedly wrong with Rooney at the WC, whether it was injury or something else. But to suggest he has no guts or determination is madness. He's one of the most determined players in the Premier League. Are you sure you aren't confusing him with the lanky Bulgarian chap he plays with who wouldn't move quickly if his house was burning down around him?
Iceman Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 what the hell is going on in this thread, Rooney, Lucio, Pique? thats it, i cannot take this anymore. Rope and a trap door for me please.
Veevs Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Back to more realistic targets.. this chap on a free would of been worth a shout.. de Guzman and apparently Klose was available on a free.. I am sure Sam mentioned something about being quoted a price if it was free then we missed out there article from independant
Majiball Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Klose would be perfect for our style of play. I doubt it would happen though.
67splitscreen Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Joe Ledley, reports say he's having a medical at Celtic today. Four or five Prem clubs all sniffing around him. Stoke made him an offer, surprised he's going north of the border. Raul has agreed terms with Schalke 90k a week, they can have him, can't see that being the true figure though.
ada2020 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 The article does say he has allegedly signied, not he has signed.
budha Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Ngog linked with loan move - West Brom and Blackburn reportedly chasing Frenchman Hasn't been that impressive, but I guess he couldn't be worse than Di Santo.
Sparky Marky Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Good player Ngog. I'd be pleased to have him down at Ewood.
