nicko Posted December 12, 2010 Author Posted December 12, 2010 Are they happy to give Sam the money to spend or will it be led by the Kentaro boys? That is a fairly central question. I think if the manager identifies a target it goes to the owners who speak to their mates... After that, we shall see. It's going to be fascinating to watch.

TugaysMarlboro Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I'll take anyone who can put it in th'onion bag.
The Rover of Finland Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Would make a nice spice to this soup if anyone would know what kind of players Kentaro connection could offer.

After that, we shall see. It's going to be fascinating to watch. Cheers for that. wonder how Sam will take the involvement of Kentaro, and whether a better calibre of player brings a less "pragmatic" brand of football - interesting times!
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Great to have money to spend - I just hope that it is directly from our new owners and not held against the club. The Pompey revolution must have seemed great at the time - but it was all against money the club didn't have. Also have to worry about the impact on the wage bill - unless Venky's will underwrite that as well !
chaddyrovers Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 3 million pounds for Charile Adam. Rovers wanted a play-maker, a speedy winger and a striker. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Blackburn-determined-to-bag-Blackpool-s-schemer-Charlie-Adam-article650215.html
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Good price that would be worth it
S15 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I've seen a lot of Adam, and £3m is an absolute bargain. I'd be very surprised in Blackpool let him go for that little.
Hughesy Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 £3m?? Not bad...sign him up...should improve our midfield at the moment anyway
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I don't think there is a plan like that - but there does seem to be a preference for players with their best years in front of them. But landing them is another matter...and takes money. Thanks for the reply Also the type of players that could have a hefty slice of our wage budget... Still, three or four quality players would make Rovers a completely different proposition.
Roberto Policano Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Is Pavel Pogrebnyak a possible target nicko? He's just a little team bully, scores all his goals against the bad teams in the league & go's missing against the big teams.
gumboots Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 He's just a little team bully, scores all his goals against the bad teams in the league & go's missing against the big teams. I'd settle for that I think. I'd settle for a striker who can score against some teams as opposed to strikers who couldn't score anywhere
Fylde Coast Fan Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Is there any chance of us grabbing David Vaughan if we can't get Adam? He's out of contract in the summer and Blackpool fans rate him as their real star this season.
TugaysMarlboro Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 A winger, A play-maker, and a striker. Sounds to me like there's going to be some exciting football ahead. All the better if we get results!
beerwins Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 3 mill for Adam, or lets put it another way 3 mill for a player who can put his foot on the ball and pick a pass. Do we need a player like this? Long overdue in my opinion and would be worth every penny, in a five man midfield a player like this is a must and we just dont have one, he can take set pieces too. There were rumours off a few pool friends of mine he was coming in the summer, wonder if he has been watched before. Would like to see this put to bed before any other signing in Jan.
TugaysMarlboro Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 The closest affordable replacement of Tugay we've been so desperately missing.
Roberto Policano Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I'd settle for that I think. I'd settle for a striker who can score against some teams as opposed to strikers who couldn't score anywhere He is on the market,he was offered around Serie A 3 weeks back for 8 million Euro's. No takers as far as i'm aware. So guess he'll have been put the Premier Leagues way too. Stuttgart disappointed in the player by all accounts.
True Blue & White Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Would make a nice spice to this soup if anyone would know what kind of players Kentaro connection could offer. Here is a list of players represented by Jerome Andersson, head of SEM which is owned by Kentaro. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/andersson-jerome/details/berater_213.html David Bentley is represented by Kentaro! Micah Richards is also on their books, been frozen out at City....you never know.

Torgeir Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I see Felipe Caicedo scored another for Levante tonight. Any idea if he's an option nicko?
67splitscreen Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Probably not on the list but a 1 in 2 goal scorer for PSV Ola Toivonen went their for 3-4m Euro in 2009. A few goals Few more. Wiki page My link Was linked with Liverpool in the summer for 5m.
RoversSG Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I must say it's good talking about transfer fees instead of looking at the freebie list and wondering if we can afford the wages. In fact, this must be the first transfer thread in a long while that i haven't heard anyone mention the "keeping our powder dry" option
The Rover of Finland Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Didn´t see SWP on that list. Ola Toivonen is a huge star at PSV and won´t move anywhere under £15M. The club don´t have to sell and the player has potential to get much better. Way out of Rovers´league when ever he wants to move to a bigger league.
Jackson Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 And DO NOT underestimate how much money these Indians are prepared to spend. Merry Christmas everyone.
Hughesy Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Worth getting involved or no chance? Everton manager David Moyes has admitted he may have to sell midfielder Steven Pienaar in the January transfer window to revive his ailing strike force.Full story: Daily Mail
