Are they happy to give Sam the money to spend or will it be led by the Kentaro boys?

That is a fairly central question.

I think if the manager identifies a target it goes to the owners who speak to their mates...

After that, we shall see.

It's going to be fascinating to watch.

Cheers for that.

wonder how Sam will take the involvement of Kentaro, and whether a better calibre of player brings a less "pragmatic" brand of football - interesting times!

Great to have money to spend - I just hope that it is directly from our new owners and not held against the club. The Pompey revolution must have seemed great at the time - but it was all against money the club didn't have. Also have to worry about the impact on the wage bill - unless Venky's will underwrite that as well !

I don't think there is a plan like that - but there does seem to be a preference for players with their best years in front of them.

But landing them is another matter...and takes money.

Thanks for the reply

Also the type of players that could have a hefty slice of our wage budget...

Still, three or four quality players would make Rovers a completely different proposition.

He's just a little team bully, scores all his goals against the bad teams in the league & go's missing against the big teams.

I'd settle for that I think. I'd settle for a striker who can score against some teams as opposed to strikers who couldn't score anywhere

3 mill for Adam, or lets put it another way 3 mill for a player who can put his foot on the ball and pick a pass.

Do we need a player like this? Long overdue in my opinion and would be worth every penny, in a five man midfield a player like this is a must and we just dont have one, he can take set pieces too.

There were rumours off a few pool friends of mine he was coming in the summer, wonder if he has been watched before.

Would like to see this put to bed before any other signing in Jan.

He is on the market,he was offered around Serie A 3 weeks back for 8 million Euro's.

No takers as far as i'm aware. So guess he'll have been put the Premier Leagues way too.

Stuttgart disappointed in the player by all accounts.

Would make a nice spice to this soup if anyone would know what kind of players Kentaro connection could offer.

Here is a list of players represented by Jerome Andersson, head of SEM which is owned by Kentaro.

David Bentley is represented by Kentaro! Micah Richards is also on their books, been frozen out at City....you never know.

I must say it's good talking about transfer fees instead of looking at the freebie list and wondering if we can afford the wages.

In fact, this must be the first transfer thread in a long while that i haven't heard anyone mention the "keeping our powder dry" option

Didn´t see SWP on that list.

Ola Toivonen is a huge star at PSV and won´t move anywhere under £15M. The club don´t have to sell and the player has potential to get much better. Way out of Rovers´league when ever he wants to move to a bigger league.

Worth getting involved or no chance?

Everton manager David Moyes has admitted he may have to sell midfielder Steven Pienaar in the January transfer window to revive his ailing strike force.Full story: Daily Mail
