Bunford Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 King's never fit. Lescott, Gallas, Cahill? Now you're joking surely. Kompany's a midfielder isn't he? Indeed. Centre backs honestly better than Samba (and trying to be non-biased) I'd say are: Vidic, Ferdinand, Johnny Evans, Terry, Vermaelen, Gallas, Dawson, Cahill, Agger, Kolo Toure, Kompany, Jagielka, Alex, Ivanovic, Coloccini, Shawcross, Huth, Dunne, Distin, Heitinga, Hangeland If you're looking for someone at the same level as a complete footballer in recent seasons, I'd compare him to the likes of: Skrtel, Wes Brown, Djourou, Roger Johnson, James Collins, Upson, Lescott
Iceman Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Aha! Get in! A late bid to snatch Torres from under the noses of Chelsea? Could Torres the elusive marquee signing that we have been promised? Too early for alcohol Gordon would love it, if we announced a big name signing, over and above say Formica and Rochina
Torgeir Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Ohara to wolves. Why not go for him ? Sicknote.
Ricky Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 And we've used both our loans up for the season.
Bunford Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 However, as someone mentioned, I believe that his (Bradley's) heart lies with Villa now. Could Friedel be a factor in selling Blackburn to Bradley over Villa perhaps? Friedel himself was a better keeper and much more loved at Rovers than he is at Villa.
mhead Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 This is now really getting better! Stylish football and intriguing signings.Makes next season seem absolutely captivating. I am not bothered who we get as long as they are young and as exciting as Hoilett and Olssen when not played at full-back.

Commondore Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Who said loan ? Had one injury A back injury though, notoriously hard to shake. I think it's telling that only a desperate club like Wolves took a chance on him.
chris Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Bunford is your favourite song "lucy in the sky with diamonds"
steo Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Your having a laugh with that list,Dunne,Distin,Kolo Toure,Coloccini and Jonny Evans aint nowhere near as good as Samba.any word yet on Formica?
Torgeir Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Could Friedel be a factor in selling Blackburn to Bradley over Villa perhaps? Friedel himself was a better keeper and much more loved at Rovers than he is at Villa. No. Villa is his current club, I don't think he's that disloyal. Unless we pay him money to talk us up that is
AndyC Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Jerome Anderson just been on talksport. Seems like he was driving upto Rovers. Very interesting interview, talked about the market in general. At the end of the interview he was asked about Rovers, he said that the new owners want to take the club forward, Kean is a very good manager and most interestingly said in the next few hours you could see some “interesting” activity at Rovers. He also said that Kean looking to play attractive football. Very good to hear this. We've had years of being renowned for being the bully boys / playing long ball football etc. There is now a need for a sustained communication effort with Steve Kean and everybody associated with the club to keep emphasizing the change in football policy. So many journalists are lazy - it won't take long before they have heard it 5 times and start repeating it themselves as fact. This will only help the club.
Amo Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Who said loan ? Had one injury O'Hara's a good little player and I'd welcome him here, but tbh someone like Formica, in his all Youtube glory, excites me more. And the guy doesn't have a back problem. O'Hara could be one to look at in the summer.
budha Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 And wether we like it or not, we have Jones, Pedersen, Dunn, N'Zonzi, Andrews, Goulon and Grella already fighting for the two central midfield berths, and possibly Formica. We really need to get rid of people before signing anyone there permanently. Which we probably can't achieve at the moment without paying off Goulon's or Grella's contract.
ultrablue Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Koo Ja-Cheol moves to Wolfsburg Its never really been on the cards for Rovers to sign this guy since Sam went. But at that price he is an absolute no-brainer. Gutted.
Taggart Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Nicko - you going to be around today for some updates ? I`m sure you will be busy today but any snippets woudl be welcomed :-)
Exiled_Rover Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 And wether we like it or not, we have Jones, Pedersen, Dunn, N'Zonzi, Andrews, Goulon and Grella already fighting for the two central midfield berths, and possibly Formica. I hope we've seen the last of Jones in central midfield. He's a centre back.
Clitherover Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Bunford is your favourite song "lucy in the sky with diamonds" Nah, it's one by Bunford and Sons.
budha Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I hope we've seen the last of Jones in central midfield. He's a centre back. Was referring to J. Jones there, but I guess Phil could be included too
m1st Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I hope we've seen the last of Jones in central midfield. He's a centre back. Perhaps he meant J. Jones, not P. Jones. We're getting like an old-fashioned cricket team, having to use players' initials; what with the Diouf boys as well!
alexanders Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I don't get why Monchengladbach are trying to loan out Michael Bradley when he is important in the team and they are facing a relegation battle. Maybe we are trying to hijack the deal by signing him permanently?
Hi Mack Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I hope we've seen the last of Jones in central midfield. He's a centre back. Think he means Jermaine Jones! I'd love to see a surprise signing out of the blue but I think Formica will be our dealings today with EHD out! When 5m was quoted early doors as our budget we were all " is that it?" don't think we'll spend that today!
