technoprisoners Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Is the protest taking place outside the ground or on that scratty car park near the clubshop? On the pavement across the road outside the club shop and on the main road at the traffic lights.

Its time to go Steve Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Just driven (well crawled with traffic at this time!) past on Bolton Rd and there looked to be about 15 people. Couldn't see any banners but most had yellow & black scarves on. Guess more might turn up tonight but it's gonna be a cold one! 15? Well I see complete apathy has set in.
gumboots Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Nobodies said he'll be at Ewood have they gumboots? No they haven't but if he's not expected to be there why would the police use his name as a reason for the march needing to finish early? I suppose i put 2 and 2 together and made what seemed a logical 4
EwoodDawn Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Did a stint between 3.40 ish and 4.40. At its height during that hour there were about 50 people. Numbers dwindled a bit as night fell but let's hope more will turn out after work. Met a couple of message boarders out there.
Ossydave Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I agree with John Haworth to an extent, but I'm not in any way knocking the protesters for their efforts. If the owners were local, or even UK based then they wouldn't be able to avoid coverage of this protest. But will they get a full report on this in India, or will insiders at Ewood just sweep it under the carpet and tell them its just some silly people who aren't real supporters? I fear that's exactly what will happen. I've taken part in previous protests but concluded they are just falling on deaf ears, the only people taking note are police and stewards. I hope to hell I am wrong and this protest gets the result we desperately want, fingers crossed and I applaud your efforts.
EwoodDawn Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Cryptic message on facebook - "Section 12 lifted - march to begin at 1.45" I presume this means that any restrictions that the police wanted to impose re. the timings for tomorrow have been lifted?
glen9mullan Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Quick update, people have been coming and going all day, around 40-50 people at ewood now, and more on route, The section 12 was lifted after discussions I had with the Police at Ewood today, They had imposed a 13.15 set off time on the march's but this has now been relaxed and they will set off at 13.45 We also have 5000 leaflets for distrubution, which have been kindly paid for by supporters and some local companies
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Good stuff Glen and good move with the leaflets.
EwoodDawn Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Good stuff Glen and good move with the leaflets. Picked up a leaflet today and the content is very good - facts & figures re. the debts, financial losses and Kean stats. Let's hope a few of the 'heads in the sand' folks read these and wake up. P.S. The quotes from Kean at the end are a great way to finish off and leave the reader bluntly reminded of how inept our manager is.
glen9mullan Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Mp Graham Jones has spent quite a bit of time on the 24 Hour protest, and has also made a financial pledge to the supporters cause, a big Thank You to Graham, Its been fantastic to see so many new faces today, including a group of supporters who have come up from Leicestershire to show their support Numbers are going up now its got evening and people have been dropping off free refreshments as the day has gone on, Massive community support and residents have also been out to pass on their support and offer free refreshments and hotpot supper as the evening progress's. This kindness is what I love about some of our supporter base, I just hope more continue to come who have never joined in before, and make an extra effort to join the protest march's tomorrow.

mattym Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Well done everyone who's at the protest, it's amazing how in one year a massive part of our lives has been utterly destroyed by people who took on something they simply knew nothing about, I pray to God that after the Venkys are long gone we can somehow get back what has been taken away from us and by that I mean !! BLACKBURN ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB 1875 Good luck to you tonight I know all your efforts will pay off to the benefit of all true rovers fans in the end
mhead Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 In some ways it does not matter what the owners think or get to know about this protest. Its now all about us sticking together and proving how much we love OUR Club. Well done guys. PayPal contribution next week for the Future of Blackburn Rovers. 137 and counting.

Andy Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Just driven past the lads on my way home with my missus - looked to be plenty of people there in their yellow and blacks. Gave them a few beeps and a wave as I drove up Livesey Branch Road
Backroom Tom Posted January 13, 2012 Backroom Posted January 13, 2012 As I said earlier my views may differ about the effectiveness of this sort of thing but I can't question the motivation and drive to do it so good on them all.
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Great effort. Supporting you from Manchester.
