Hekla Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Wigan are very good, can't believe I am jealous of them.
philipl Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Fabulous Wigan win. Arsenal's defeat means Spurs and Chelsea's Champion League campaign is revived. We are down.
Stuart Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 How much are season tickets at Wigan? Any chance of editing your sig, Aggy, it keeps ballsing up my screen.
Backroom DE. Posted April 16, 2012 Backroom Posted April 16, 2012 Great result for Wigan, again. Their players have stood up to be counted, fair play to 'em. They deserve their place in the Prem next year, nobody can deny that. They're also going to destroy us at Ewood.
adsfortheblues Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 By the looks of it we could be relegated by next week if not then Wigan will send us down but my money is on us going down next week at spurs
Kelbo Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Well, watched Wigan tonight, they had a togetherness, pressed the ball well, defended well and a manager MANAGING and organising, anyone see how when under pressure a player went down and Martinez was issuing instructions to his players, thats a manager, we havent got one, they also have an owner with a brain!!
cesus Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Tonights result makes no difference, we were screwed the minute we dropped into the bottom 3 and we couldn't be saved by others dropping points. Watching the fight, desire and discipline of the Wigan players should make Blackburn players look at themselves in disgust.
colin Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Full time, Wigan have won. Good for them. As opposed to Rovers - a club so full of 5hit that if had a good cr4p its head would collapse
Parsonblue Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 So Wigan beat Liverpool, United and Arsenal, while we go down without so much as a whimper to Bolton, WBA and Swansea. Says it all really about the manager, the players, the club and above all the owners. I fear that the Rovers are now destined for a lengthy exile from top flight football. Thank you Desai and the Brothers Grimm!
hollowsr Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 If we'd had half the fight that Wigan had tonight over the last few weeks we'd be ok However we've had zero fight
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Or Wigan could have their minds on a beach by the time we play!! Ah to clutch straws...... That crossed my mind - with Wolves on the final day they are as good as safe now. Who would have thought they would get 6 points from their last two matches ? In truth before tonights result Wigan looked in the best form of teams at the bottom. Our goose is a little more cooked than it was - but ultimately we have to continue to pray that 3 teams will be below us come the end of the season - though I wouldn't put any money on it.
roverandout Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 they'll take us to the cleaners at ewood, i was actually willing wigan to win i have that much admiration for them.
Mattie456 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 We've had our chances this season. It appears we've made our bed.....
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 If we'd had half the fight that Wigan had tonight over the last few weeks we'd be ok However we've had zero fight It isn't just fight - they looked well organised - and limited Arsenal who on the night were poor by their standards.
nick123 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Just seen Kean walking his dog.. He said we still won't be relegated, deffo for sure we are staying up. Bet your house on it.
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2012 Backroom Posted April 16, 2012 In reality any team that wasn't totally awful could have saved themselves this season. As it is it's very very likely that relegation will be confirmed before or at the Wigan game so that could be fun
Stuart Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 they'll take us to the cleaners at ewood, i was actually willing wigan to win i have that much admiration for them. Woah, let's not get carried away now...
roversfan1 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I too found myself willing Wigan to win tonight as their team showed fight and desire and a willingness to get stuck in...to a man they put a shift in and every Rovers player should be ashamed as tonight they have seen what it takes to win in a relegation fight! Well done Wigan, deserved winners tonight. We are in for a long stint out of the top flight!
A cup of beans Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Every round of fixtures has brought further nails in our coffin After this we will be 6 points away with 4 games left, 2 of them clear losses, 3 behind QPR with worse gd and 1 behind Bolton who have two games in hand Game set and match It hurts like hell and arsenal were pathetic. But wigan did everything we dont. they kept possession, looked a threat everytime they attacked, cleared almost every cross that came in! Our only hope is that QPR and bolton lose their games. I'll cling to that hope.. for as long as I can. I know I'm deluded, but the reality is too much to bear!
