MarkBRFC71 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Half-time can't come quick enough, looking like only a matter of time before Italy score. Rooney has been dire and looks totally unfit, Young, Milner and Welbeck all been poor too. Pirlo and Cassano running the game at the moment.

Backroom DE. Posted June 24, 2012 Backroom Posted June 24, 2012 The most glaring issue for England is that we are an incredibly slow team. No pace or zip in our team at all, but I suppose with a midfield of Young, Gerrard, Parker and Milner you can't expect much in the way of speed. Rooney's lost a ton of his pace, too. He's a slow plodder these days, kind of like Gascoigne when he got older. With the way we're playing (counter attack, cross it in) we should have started with Carroll. IMO Milner needs to come off ASAP, he kills any attack he's involved in. Get Walcott on, please!
Backroom Tom Posted June 24, 2012 Backroom Posted June 24, 2012 Good half with it being pretty even Rooney looks dire which means he will score first
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Half-time can't come quick enough, looking like only a matter of time before Italy score. Rooney has been dire and looks totally unfit, Young, Milner and Welbeck all been poor too. Pirlo and Cassano running the game at the moment. Correct.
roverandout Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 get milner off, flippin useless, offers no protection to johnson, i mean where is he? hes supposed to be on the wing, yet bazagli gets ###### loads of space, we need to attack their fullbacks, get walcott on, we need rooney as he can do something special, even game in turns of chances but we keep giving the ball away.
Backroom Tom Posted June 24, 2012 Backroom Posted June 24, 2012 Italy missed some sitters this looks like being our day
Audax Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 my gosh, even though the action is right now near the England goal, England has attacked some 2nd half. People don't like John Terry's character but he's certainly again proving his worth.... Come On England, yes, everyone is saying Italy is dominating.
MarkBRFC71 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Milner, Young and Welbeck off, Walcott, Ox and Carroll on for me.
Backroom DE. Posted June 24, 2012 Backroom Posted June 24, 2012 We've been so poor since the 2nd half started, what is going on? For the love of all that is good get James Milner off the pitch!
RoyRover Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Italy are dominating this now and have missed some absolute sitters. It could really come back to haunt them.
MarkBRFC71 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Pirlo showing Gerrard that 'World Class' means being able to control a game, not run fast and kick it hard while doing your own commentary like an 8 year old.
RoyRover Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Pirlo showing Gerrard that 'World Class' means being able to control a game, not run fast and kick it hard while doing your own commentary like an 8 year old. Glad an English person said this!
Reedy You're A Star Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 That goes for Rooney too. Nowhere near "World Class" on this performance.
MarkBRFC71 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 It's a shame we can't take 2 more off as Young and Gerrard are having shockers ....
RoyRover Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 That goes for Rooney too. Nowhere near "World Class" on this performance. Rooney doesn't look anywhere near fit. I'm surprised that the commentators haven't mentioned it. He seems to have lost a lot of his pace and dynamism. (Watch now as he rips one into the top corner from 30 yards!)
MarkBRFC71 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Italy 23 shots, 14 on target, we've had 6 and 2 ....
Jock Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Rooney doesn't look anywhere near fit. I'm surprised that the commentators haven't mentioned it. He seems to have lost a lot of his pace and dynamism. (Watch now as he rips one into the top corner from 30 yards!) The new hair is weighing him down.
AllRoverAsia Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 The Germans would beat the best from Italy and England combined.
Backroom Tom Posted June 24, 2012 Backroom Posted June 24, 2012 Awful second half by England We are massivley lucky to still be in it but now we have to grasp it as you need luck to win anything Rooney seems to be playing the lazy ball every time
Backroom DE. Posted June 24, 2012 Backroom Posted June 24, 2012 TBF Italy have missed a couple of ridiculously easy chances. They should have won that in normal time. England have been disgraceful since the second half kicked off. We cannot keep the ball to save our lives, we're playing like a Kean-inspired Rovers.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 England shouldn't still be in this game. Pirlo absolutely dominant but pretty wasteful finishing by Italy. From what i've seen there is no chance they will beat Germany if they manage to get lucky and win this game.
Commondore Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 England's attacking play has been poor, but I get the feeling that Italy could probably play all night without scoring against Hodgson's banks of four. Penalties, anyone?
AllRoverAsia Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Rooney is gone and is the main reason Pirlo has got so much freedom
Salgado Is A Hero Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Part of me wants England to scrape through to watch Germany annihilate them again. Hart still needs to learn that it's not a good idea to parry the ball back into the danger zone. I guess Hodgson has never heard of Pirlo. Same old from Rooney apart from the group stages of Euro 2004.
