[Archived] Michael Appleton - New Rovers Manager

Appleton needs to work out how to get a team to score goals. Sick of seeing "0" beside our goals scored column. He's like the anti-Kean in every respect, really.

He needs to figure out how to get some points on the board! What's his league record in comparison to Berg's? Anyone?

Edit - Appleton has 9 points out of 10 games unless I'm mistaken. Absolutely diabolical.

Berg

P9 W1 D3 L5

Appleton

P9 W2 D3 L4..........with 4 defeats coming in the last 5!!!!!!!!

Over to you, shebby.

Win % of 22, hmmmm, that's worse than Steve kean. Holy schmoley.

Thank goodness for Steve Kean .... without his points at the start of the season we would be in the bottom 3 now.

A startling thought - it's a bloody good job we have had 5 managers this season because if it were just Berg and Appleton then judging on their records we'd be in the bottom 3 and staring relegation head on (it's still 'doable' this season mind).

Despite the poor form. Getting rid of Appleton would be a terrible idea. Mainly because I don't believe his replacement would be any better. Give him rest of season hopefully we'll stay up. Then judge him 10 games into next season after he's been given a chance to create his own squad.

Like some of what he says......................................thats it, not showing anything on the pitch, not a fooking thing

might be a nice guy possibly not a world class scumbag like a previous incumbant

Got a sh1t squad and miracles ain't expected........but even with the cards he's been dealt that record is woeful

6th roll of the dice may be the charm this season

Still waiting for him to back his words up with actions (and results)

How many games is that DJ has played without scoring? And not helping Rhodes score.

If you were to back a "surprise" team to go down this year, it would surely be us. Dressing room turmoil, rookie manager whose only experience is relegating a club (yes, yes, mitigating circumstances etc), can't score, no backbone, fanbase disappearing rapidly.

A club in total, utter freefall. If we go down, does Appleton get sacked, or is he given the chance to get us back up?

Absolutely not IF it were to happen. We've been unlucky with injuries etc but he's still brought in a lot of bloody players. Rekik DJ Bentley etc are his men and haven't performed (bit harsh on Bentley but true to date).

Who knows, but like you, I'm getting that horrible sinking feeling that we haven't quite hit rock bottom. There's always a team that gets dragged into it and why the hell wouldn't it be us?

If we go down, it really will cap an incredible 2 and a half years. Christ knows what Venky's would do then.

But to be frank, even if we didn't go down and just got sucked into a battle, then it would really knock our confidence and desire for next season. If we want to go up next year, we need to get some momentum going now, start stringing a few wins together. There's no sign of this happening at all.

We're absolutely shafted.

Just a Rookie learning his trade.

do it in league 2 not here though, like the journos/pundits when ince was here all saying give him time he's a rookie to which my response was go be a rookie at the club you support. Rookie is no excuse worthy of keeping a job

If he sticks around in a couple of years he might be.

Blackburn Rovers@OneRovers

MA: There are 10 games to go, show the same effort we showed tonight and we'll win more than we'll lose

Effort is fine, but we also need to... you know... SCORE GOALS. That one small part of the game which actually means we win as opposed to draw or lose.

"carry on like that, and we'll lose a good few more in the last few minutes, and come close to going down"

How many goals have we conceded in last ten? How many points lost in last ten?

It's beyond a joke. I don't have any faith in appleton. Just really gone beyond despair now, into something totally bleak and unpleasant. Like Stan Ternent's tights, but much worse.
