That said, he got out to an absolute Jaffa yesterday. England have no excuses going forward now. We’ve proved we have it in the locker to ‘play properly’. ‘Bazball’ has its place but use your noggins lads. Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 4 Quote

Gav Posted Friday at 10:21 Posted Friday at 10:21 (edited) Wake me up when we get to Old Trafford……2 runs sn over Zzzzzz Seriously though, Englands day yesterday, great to see Root getting to his hundred off the first ball of the day today, his 37th in Test Match Cricket. jim mk2 Posted Friday at 18:01 Posted Friday at 18:01 Enthralling day's cricket at Lord's...... tough battle between bat and ball as two teams fought hard and gave no quarter for the upper hand. Proper Test cricket and no slap and tickle I thought England were 100 runs short but we'll see what happens. Bumrah is an extraordinary bowler, averaging about 19. He's got Root out so many times now and did it again today. Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted Friday at 18:31 Posted Friday at 18:31 Tonight's game at Old Trafford is why I can't take Hit and Giggle seriously. A boatful of mishit shots and yet Yorkshire are racing along at 11 an over with only 1 down. It's a game of luck as much as it's a game of skill. Quote
DeeCee Posted Saturday at 19:45 Posted Saturday at 19:45 Why does Archer wear those chains when he's playing? Quote
chaddyrovers Posted Sunday at 07:45 Posted Sunday at 07:45 well bowled England in those hot humid weather conditions Quote
47er Posted Sunday at 11:01 Posted Sunday at 11:01 42 for 2, wicket very difficult. In a bit of trouble. Quote
jim mk2 Posted Sunday at 11:36 Posted Sunday at 11:36 Three down. Another Root rescue act required. He can't keep carrying this team. Some just aren't good enough against the best Test bowlers Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted Sunday at 13:19 Posted Sunday at 13:19 WTF was that shot Brook got out playing ? Quote

jim mk2 Posted Sunday at 14:44 Posted Sunday at 14:44 In the circumstances of the game with 10 minutes to lunch, and England looking to build a steady recovery, Brook got out to the same brainlesss shot as his previous two shots. Now 6 down. Quote
wilsdenrover Posted Sunday at 15:22 Posted Sunday at 15:22 184 ahead, 8 down. Not looking good. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted Sunday at 15:49 Posted Sunday at 15:49 Nothing to say about Root going too far over and being bowled around his legs? But slammed Brook for similar?.🤔 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted Sunday at 15:55 Posted Sunday at 15:55 Archer, Woakes and Carse need to bowl them out. 192 to defend. Need 4 or 5 quick wickets at the start Quote

wilsdenrover Posted Sunday at 17:20 Posted Sunday at 17:20 Is this the part of the day where India start time wasting despite last night’s collective paddy?? Quote
wilsdenrover Posted Sunday at 17:33 Posted Sunday at 17:33 58-4 at the close. A couple of quick ones in the morning would be nice. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted Sunday at 17:42 Posted Sunday at 17:42 well we got the 4 wickets I wanted. Going to be interesting day tomorrow 1 Quote

Come on England 🏏 1 Quote

I regard the 3 forms of the game now as different games and can enjoy them all in their different ways. The Roses games are frankly less interesting than games against the other teams. Around 20K at Old Trafford on Friday but about 15K were just there to drink and arse about. They don’t turn up to any other games, although some will no doubt be there for a quarter final if we get a home game. The Sky branding also ruined things a bit with me as for some reason one of the screens had a terrible score card on it and there had to be diff people on the commentary. This afternoon’s game was better. It obviously helped that Lancashire won but it seemed that the crowd were actually interested in the cricket as well. And a bigger crowd than there has been for the other home games. 1 Quote

You can't write this England team and people might complain about how some batsmen get out but others its ok will won't complain about them. Quote
