Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted Thursday at 13:52 Moderation Lead Posted Thursday at 13:52 Rollercoaster of emotions today. Woke up early and was incredibly concerned at the start, then absolutely ecstatic with Root's batting and in love with the batting from Archer. Took me by surprise, after I'd completely resigned myself to the continuation of an expected batting collapse! How wrong I was. Fair play to England, they ended superbly today. 6 Quote
Gav Posted yesterday at 04:59 Posted yesterday at 04:59 (edited) You can’t give them chances Jamie Smith, great delivery by Archer. Aussies playing Bazball here, flying along after a slow start. Edited yesterday at 05:18 by Gav Quote
47er Posted yesterday at 06:59 Posted yesterday at 06:59 Aussies now playing real Test Cricket! On the way to a big lead I imagine. We have had good moments but compared to them we are amateurs. No dabbling at balls outside the off stump while the feet are stuck to the turf. 1 Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted yesterday at 09:02 Posted yesterday at 09:02 Aussies are always only a wicket away from a collapse too, plenty of life left in this game yet, but it’s not looking great at the moment 1 Quote

The Aussies are ruthless. 1 Quote
Gav Posted yesterday at 10:11 Posted yesterday at 10:11 Wow - 5 minutes of subline to ridiculous cricket! We could have had 3wkts in 3 balls, we have 2! Come on England. Quote
47er Posted yesterday at 10:14 Posted yesterday at 10:14 Could get back into it! Hold those catches lads! Quote

I thought England were 100 light on 1st innings and it looks like going that way. You don’t win by Tests by dropping catches and giving wickets away - the difference between us and them 1 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted yesterday at 11:40 Moderation Lead Posted yesterday at 11:40 Dropping catches as damaging to our chances, as getting out to shots we should be leaving. I think that's the most frustrating thing with us, we make such a mess of the basics. Quote
den Posted yesterday at 11:53 Posted yesterday at 11:53 40+ in front now with 4 wickets left. 5 dropped catches. I fear played two, lost two and series already gone. Not good enough from England against a pretty ordinary Aussie team. Quote
Gav Posted yesterday at 12:50 Posted yesterday at 12:50 I've been one of the biggest supporters of the current regime, they've taken English cricket to another level, a winning level and I've loved almost every minute of it. But the catching has been abysmal throughout this tenure, something you can practice till the cows come home, which I’m sure they do, but dropping that many catches could well have lost us this test and ashes. I'm sure the ball will come into question and under lights, but its not just this test. Not good enough Stokes/McCullum. Quote
Gav Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Why the hell isn’t Stokes bringing the field in on ball 4/5 to keep the number 9 on strike? Amateur hour. Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago We've now got to the stage where we are passing it back to them to get out. Need a Botham esque turnaround here. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 11 hours ago Moderation Lead Posted 11 hours ago Getting out to shots we don’t need to be having a go at, yet again. Arrogance was about right, tbf. We’re beating ourselves, here. Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Its like football. You can have 1 or 2 mavericks you let play however, but you cant have 11 with no accountability. We are so inflexible. 1 Quote
wilsdenrover Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I hope they’re embarrassed, I know they won’t be. Quote
Darrenbot Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Bring them back home before it gets worse, just admit we're nowhere in the same class as the Aussies. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago humiliated by the weakest australian team since the mid 80`s,all this 20/20 shite and the daft 100 to blame imo 1 Quote
onlyonejackwalker Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Firstly, catch your catches, win your matches. Second, stop wafting outside off stump with zero foot movement. Third, pitch it up, hitting the top of off stump. Fourth, play each ball on its merits. Five, occupy the crease, protect your castle. Six, take the shine off the ball, tire out the bowlers. Seven, play straight. Eight, hit the ball on the ground. Nine, adapt to match circumstamces. Ten, (see number one) support your bowlers. 2 Quote
jim mk2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Pathetic and predicted It was said of previous England teams but this is the same: they can't bowl, they can't field and they can't bat (Root sometimes excepted) England should have won the last home Ashes series but Stokes blew it with his stupid declaration in the first Test England should have beaten India last summer but threw it away in the last Test because of the stupid Bazball mentality It isn't "arrogance"; it's downright stupidity England are an embarrassment against a very average team. Stokes and McCullum should be sacked when the inevitable Ashes defeat is confirmed And Keys can go too Quote
