Shabani Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I'd just like to see a settled squad of players. We used 55 players the past two seasons in the championship, which shows the state of the squad and the complete lack of a 'team'. When I saw Burnley on Sunday, they looked like a 'team', not 11 players in the same shirt. They've used only 22 players this season, just 1 loan player and have barely spent a penny in transfer fees; this needs to be our model for next season

Jackie_Moon Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 why do people keep bringing out numbers like 6 months, 8 months etc to get a promotion winning team, if a manager is good enough, he will hit the ground running, a lot of examples of managers who get a promotion winning team, Houston at Newcastle got them promoted straight away, he hardly had any experience of management, Newcastle, like us were a club in turmoil, billy davies turned forest around as soon as he walked through the door, McLaren at derby, nigel clough at Sheffield utd, so many examples. If bowyer hasn't got it in him then he hasn't got it in him. Enough excuses already. he has done an ok job, no more, what makes people think all of a sudden rovers will be a top side next season, most of these players have had long enough working together to bring an end to the debate about 'team gelling'. All of a sudden people seem to underestimate the @#/? our club was is back in may 2013. The players bowyer has HAD to get rid of, and HAD to bring in highlights how his job has been completely different to hughtons at toon, Davies at forest, mclarens at Derby etc. These arnt excuses, these are plain facts that are there for everyone to see! The difference between bowyer and these other managers is that bowyers had to start from pretty much scratch! The players obviously haven't had enough time to gel as we've had to frequently swap the team around to accommodate injuries and admittedly some poor tactical decisions. But as soon as we can get an 11 playing together frequently I feel we'll start to see progression (in terms of results and promotion push)! I don't think a new manager will benefit us in any way right now.

The players bowyer has HAD to get rid of, and HAD to bring in highlights how his job has been completely different to hughtons at toon, Davies at forest, mclarens at Derby etc. Apart from Scott Dann, which players has he had to sell that he actually wanted? Out of the 19 or 20 players he has brought in, which were forced on him? As far as I know, the incoming players were his choices. He asked for Venky's backing for every one of those players and he got it. Unless you know something else.

He asked for Venky's backing for every one of those players and he got it. Unless you know something else. The club is in a hell of a lot of a position now than it was in May 2013!! To think otherwise is just being deluded and highlights a lot of people's enjoyment in being pessimistic!! Den, not sure if you were aware, but we had players like Pedersen, murphy, Gomes, best, a load of Portuguese randoms and givet who were bleeding this club dry. These players HAD to be sold in order to prevent a transfer embargo and these players HAD to be replaced with cheaper players! These were determining factors when bowyer took the job and were out of his control.
A cup of beans Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 The players obviously haven't had enough time to gel as we've had to frequently swap the team around to accommodate injuries and admittedly some poor tactical decisions. But as soon as we can get an 11 playing together frequently I feel we'll start to see progression (in terms of results and promotion push)! Time to gel. It's the 10th of March! Bowyer's constantly changed the first 11 all the way through this season and largely of his own accord.

He's been allowed to bring in 19 or 20 players of his choice. He's a lucky man.

Jackie_Moon Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Do you think the debt has shrunk? It's not increasing at the rate is was!Stop the rot!
yoda Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 It's not increasing at the rate is was! Stop the rot! So the debt is still rising and we have sold all the quality players bar one, how does that translate into being a hell of a lot better, just before you bring it up we have a similar points total to this time last year

We arnt on the cusp of relegation, we've got rid of a number of influencing factors that put us in debt, we have appointed more qualified personnel to run the club behind the scenes and rid ourselves of the likes of shebby Singh and Paul Agnew, we have a sponsor on the shirt we've had positive press and we've had ONE manager throughout the entire season!! Den, you genuinely think bowyer is a lucky man? Just goes to show the delusion of some fans!
broadsword Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 The rot's not been stopped, it's not progressing as rapidly, is all. Bowyer has done some horse-trading, to be sure, but he's brought in his own men, and not really lost anyone essential, unless you think Dann is essential. Reality check for you - Dyche said before Sunday's game that Rovers were still able to spend big, whereas he had a limited budget to deal with. Let's stop all this nonsense about poor Gary Bowyer having his hands tied, and acknowledge that his tactical acumen is limited, and being shown up for what it is at this level.
Leonard Venkhater Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Can't really blame Bowyer , Agent appointed to find buyer , Agent gets consortium of idiots with a plan to make dough on second rate players who just need a few prem games for value to rocket . Agent finds safe bet of owners who he can sell the dream to . Current owners Walkers trust take their money and run to never be heard from again nor care of what happens to the club. Agent swiftly moves stability out of club and puts his own crew in , in every corner to ensure club is monopolised . He even draws up the contracts to ensure no loup holes appear . New owners sit back , take the spool whilst keeping eye on their other investments with their new found friends (although new being not quite true ) New empire don't give two monkeys about the club or indeed those who question the motive or their actions , they either sack them , or threaten their existence with far more brutal tactics. fa and premier league see the writing on the wall but can't ever be seen to have allowed this , despite the warnings , the evidence and paper trail . Money changing hands like a car auction, people positioning themselves for a piece of this cake which just never stops giving . Internal infrastructure from top to bottom gaining with each deal , each stab of the knife and setting club up for at least another 4 years of profit for people but not for club . Vector after vetoe , hot in the kitchen , the truth getting closer , but a divided supporter base preventing the a halt to the decline . Lip service sent to contain the non loyal Subjects who have dared to say no to the decline of Blackburn Rovers football club . The Pune regime continue to ignore supporters , their thoughts , feelings , whilst continually allowing the club to be a cash cow for others . Poor appointment after poor appointment , the more inexperienced the better , the blanket revolt against supporters who dare show any fight to say NO The sale of the Crown Jewels The signing of has beens and never have beens , The pay offs to ensure the truth is never heard , the blanket refusal to speak to supporters to ensure the questions can't be asked , the acceptance from some supporters that this is the hand we have been dealt . Finally another appointment , another who will no doubt preach togetherness , forgiveness and look forwards rather than backwards . To me it's simple the only ones I want to speak to , is those sat in Pune who have overseen our clubs decline . No one but them will do , we deserve the truth and we deserve the horses mouth . You don't have to pay someone a couple of hundred thousand to contain supporters , it's simple , you came (occasionally ) , you saw (occasionally ) but the work here is by your hands as you have fed those and continue to feed those at the top table who have destroyed a club , I was once proud to call home Very interesting, Glen. I do agree with you about the new appointment. Bit of a joke, when the perpetrators still refuse to speak openly, clarify or dispel genuine concerns e.g. Singh/ 27 March/ future plans etc. Any chance you could shed a little more light on the bits highighted? Maybe you could do it in code? Why do you think the divided fanbase (a direct consequence of perpetrators' dishonesty and mismanagement) is preventing a halt to the decline that was never in the fans' control? What is the current position re dossier?

Come on. I do think people should be allowed to make their points, ask questions etc without being gratuitously insulted on their own message board. Remember our supporters have been deliberately kept in the dark. There are gaps in all our analyses..the MB has given me loads of info that I didn't have before.
