Backroom Tom Posted June 15, 2015 Backroom Posted June 15, 2015 I'm all for J*b's idea, if two members end up in constant bickering we lock them in a thread where only they can post, they can't post elsewhere till they sort it. Or his physical version is fine

JBiz Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I'm all for J*b's idea, if two members end up in constant bickering we lock them in a thread where only they can post, they can't post elsewhere till they sort it. Or his physical version is fine What if it's one poster following another? Wouldn't it be unfair if one hasn't orchestrated anything, just responded? What if others jump in? The realistic thing is people should do what I, and many others are doing. Proof read your post and take out personal comment. The amount of posts I delete. Adults should self moderate if they want discussion, it's easy. It's also something I can say because I've been as guilty as anyone in the past few years.

Not sure what you are suggesting but if I'm reading this correctly I'd like to make it clear I cannot support happy slapping.

I couldn't tell you the amount of times I write a post then end up either rewording it or just deleting it altogetherPetty bickering gets us nowhere, an argument is fine I just can't be doing with people arguing the man and not the actual comment which I think is happening a lot.
J*B Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I couldn't tell you the amount of times I write a post then end up either rewording it or just deleting it altogether No worries Tom, you are from Mill Hill nobody is expecting you to be able to read, write AND count. Two out of three is a success.
Backroom Tom Posted June 16, 2015 Backroom Posted June 16, 2015 Less of the Mill Hill, I'm from Rishton so I'm posh

Leonard Venkhater Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Did this thread ever have a point? Like a Beckett play, there is no point, yet I read on... "Waiting for Majiball"
T J Hooker Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 was this image he posted really that bad? seriously, its a bit naïve to think that anybody(child or adult) with access to the web hasn't seen the occasional hardcore porn image(even if its accidental i.e.. in a side banner, pop up, etc..) at least this one was quickly removed, obviously I'm not saying this was at all acceptable behaviour, but a heavy temporary ban should have sufficed imo.
Backroom Tom Posted June 16, 2015 Backroom Posted June 16, 2015 Yes it was really that bad, disturbing even but I'm not going into it as I always got on well with him before then and seemed out of character
thenodrog Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Why the sympathy? It's like a suicide. If my memory is correct he deliberately set out to get banned and in doing so got his final wish granted.
47er Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Not so much sympathy as regret that he did it and thereby disappeared for all time. Just wish he hadn't.
T J Hooker Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Theres been plenty of days when others(inc. Myself) have been so annoyed with people on here that we've deliberately got ourselfs banned or asked for our accounts to be closed(only to regret it not long after)

Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2015 Backroom Posted June 17, 2015 Let's let sleeping dogs lie, It was inexcusable amd disgusting let's not pretend otherwise. But Now let's draw a line under it its gone, the poster isn't coming back and it's just going over old ground.

Joking aside, for me it's much like managers' right to manage..."Moderators' right to moderate"...
AndyNeil Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 That was my point Al. The same dozen people arguing endlessly on every thread about I don't know or care what is exceptionally boring. But each to their own. the above is why, IMO, so many people don't bother with the site - killing itself from within and nothing will change, which is why people have just walked away and leaving the ever dwindling numbers to it.
laughatthedingles Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Is there a way we can go to the most recent comment from the board rather than 'next', 'next'. May not be a problem on PC's/ Macs but it appears to be on mobiles (may be me missing something).
Paul Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 If you mark the board as "read" when you leave when you return it should take you to the first unread post in each thread. Works on iPhone 5
