In case anyone has missed the big news, ol' Jazz Hands himself has retired from professional football, taking up a first team coaching role at MK Dons.

Promoted above his abilities by Ince, he always looked busy and did try his best.

Bless him.

Would probably get in the current side though

One contribution he might have made whilst he was here could have been teaching Lowey everything he knew

Should do well as a coach, he brought the club forward light years in pointing out which player he should have been marking.

Not the most gifted footballer, but I believe he was a good professional and a decent guy.

Scored a smashing goal in the last minute to give us a 2-2 draw at West Brom - right in front of where I was sitting. I was rather pleased.

Apart from that I don't remember him offering very much. Not really a Premier League player.

I would like to POINT out, that he was alright man. Gave his best, and something Leon Best for one should be ashamed of.

It's a sign of the times and quite an achievementt by the current manager to make Andrews seem a dynamic, skillful and attacking midfielder.

Never felt he was good enough for us at that time. Slowed down the tempo of play and looked lost among superior players. We've sunk so low now in a way he'd be a useful player if had him now. All the more frustrating was watching him in the odd game for Ireland (the France playoff 2nd leg springs to mind) where he looked a world beater vs a very useful French side.

We never thought we'd say it but at the time he was the worst midfielder we'd had for light years he's now been surpassed

A poor midfielder when we were in the PL, and I don't think it would be any different if he played for us now. The same level as Williamson, Lowe and Evans for me in the crab stakes.

People trying to reinvent history and say Andrews is better than any of the above just seems like a stick to beat them with imo.

Williamson or Lowe would be eaten in the premership a measure of how far so far we've fallen

They would indeed, but then that's exactly what happened to Andrews as well!

Can't help feeling some affection for him. So utterly out of his depth, as was the manger who signed him.

Was retired throughout his period at Rovers for me. Ran around a lot but rarely was this effort linked in anyway to the ball!

Can remember a guy near me getting so angry when Andrews came on as a sub that he got up and left the ground. Think there was still twenty minutes left.

There seemed to be a genuine undercurrent of anger and aggression in the stands towards Keef which I never really understood. He may have been fairly useless, but he was no Bradley Orr or Leon Best.

I do recall him causing an outcry when his frustration got the better of him and he threw a water bottle into the crowd though

A lad at work is a Watford fan and he reckons that Andrews made a bit of a nuisance of himself there last season and got a reputation of being a barrack room lawyer. That came as a bit of a surprise, I very briefly met him and he seemed like a nice bloke. He comes across that way in the media too.

A rich man's Jason Lowe. League One level promoted well beyond his abilities, much like the guy who brought him into the side.

That said I've no grudges against him. I wouldn't be surprised if he became a decent coach or even manager, cutting his teeth at a League One or Two club.

Good luck to him.

I genuinely don't see how anyone can differentiate between Andrews and Lowe, I certainly wouldn't say Andrews was better!

Most unlike you Stuart, I always thought you rated Lowe :tu:

An awful, awful player but at least he always tried so best wishes to him as he starts his career in coaching.

Mind you, perhaps it's my memory playing tricks on me but at his prime would've preferred him to Evans. At least you noticed Kieth was on the pitch!

He knew very well before he signed that he was not wanted by the fans here. He had only himself to blame.
