tomphil Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Bet there's an agreement in place where he won't play next week if he does go. There damn well should be but with the way this is going and the money it'll cost Boro I reckon they'll insist he's clear to play.

chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 That chubby git Nixon just loves rubbing our noses in it. Nightmare scenario today is Rhodes leaves at the 11th hour and we bring no bugger in. I defy anybody on here to tell me that would be okay and we'd be better off. I'm sure Lambert will have targets and ready to go for them. Could Zach Clough be a target if Rhodes left???
roverstdt Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 The situation surrounding Rhodes is ludicrous how fans can vilify him bemuses me. The facts are we would have gotten good money for him He would have gotten a pay increase Gone to a club that is likely to go up this year. What is there to blame? Sure the move collapsed but he is still a Rovers player and a player who has given a hell of a lot across these last few season with the goals he has scored.
RevidgeBlue Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I'm sure Lambert will have targets and ready to go for them. Could Zach Clough be a target if Rhodes left??? Doubt it your mate nicko specifically said we had no interest in Clough earlier in the window.
JHRover Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 If he can score 6 in one game, 11 all season doesn't look too great does it? And that includes penalties! 6 goals across 2 games, because we've still to play Middlesbrough twice. We need at least 20 points to survive and 6 of those are up for grabs against Middlesbrough who we want to sell our top goalscorer to. I hope if his contributions help Middlesbrough beat us and we eventually get relegated then there will be no moaning/hard luck stories from anyone at Rovers end. 11 all season is pretty good considering the team he has been playing in and our league position. As in 2012-13, his goals could well be the difference. I'd be more confident with Rhodes in the building than Brown/Jackson/Delfouneso that's for sure.
sharpysharps Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 We really have no idea what Lambert has or had planned today. If it's loan deals then these can still go through albeit delayed when the loan window opens. As for Rhodes leaving the training ground, they probably don't want him doing anything today in case a move ends up being back on. Probably told him to take the day off and go and sit with his agent somewhere close to a motorway or something.
chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Nixon Jordan Rhodes. So much bad blood over the Middlesbrough move that it would take some transfusion to sort it ...
Norbert Rassragr Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 BBC saying the Rhodes deal may be back on. They also say that Kazim-Richards is off to Celtic. About his level.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I take it there's another 'emergency loan window' post proper window? Obviously bringing in loads of players on loan though isn't ideal because we're staring down the barrel of a Blackpool situation come the summer as it stands right now.

Not wishing to have a pop at you but, on reflection, would you not now consider that to be a little overly dramatic?
jones_rover Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 How about Serge Gnabry on loan? Didn't work out at WBA for him but highly rated.
Backroom Tom Posted February 1, 2016 Backroom Posted February 1, 2016 Doubt it your mate nicko specifically said we had no interest in Clough earlier in the window. He also said yesterday that Rhodes was about to be announced and terms were agreed
sharpysharps Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 How about Serge Gnabry on loan? Didn't work out at WBA for him but highly rated. I saw he was off on loan elsewhere now that WBA have got Pritchard, I think it was to Charlton.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Not wishing to have a pop at you but, on reflection, would you not now consider that to be a little overly dramatic? What I mean is with regards to playing numbers. I haven't done the maths, but given all of our players out of contract, how many would we be down to? 15? SSN: Rhodes back off up to Boro.

Nightmare scenario today is Rhodes leaves at the 11th hour and we bring no bugger in. I defy anybody on here to tell me that would be okay and we'd be better off. I don't think it such a big problem. We could still at Watt type deal with loan turning into permanent in the summer. I think DJ Campbell was such a deal.
AdamRochina Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Need Rhodes sorting in next hour or 2 to give us a chance at something
chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 From Paul Wheelock The type of deals #rovers try to do today may depend on if Jordan Rhodes stays or goes, but believe they are working on a couple.
RevidgeBlue Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Need Rhodes sorting in next hour or 2 to give us a chance at something It's too late now to sort much out without resorting to panic moves. It's probably only a question of do we bank the money today or not? Id rather keep the player at least until summer. On the other hand if a Prem. Club is genuinely in for him it makes much more sense all round.
Iceman Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 surely its a case of Venkys and Lambert just doing the deals, irrespective if Rhodes is sold or not. I have this bad feeling this is going to end badly, with Rhodes leaving last minute, and we sit with the money and no time to bring in anybody. Do a couple loan deals, and worry later if he is still here or not
chaddyrovers Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Lambert will have targets in his mind. So lets see who we sign today.
Backroom Madon Posted February 1, 2016 Backroom Posted February 1, 2016 Tom Lawrence has signed for Cardiff on loan.
Kie_BRFC Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 If Rhodes does leave soonish, it is imperative we make a couple of deals. Don't buy that we'll be fine till the summer, need to make a couple of sensible signings to keep us up, nothing crazy but something inspiring. In lambert I trust
AJW Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Lambert will have targets in his mind. So lets see who we sign today. he should have had 2 lists of targets 1 with Rhodes 1 without Rhodes ... right now he should be working on the first list
RevidgeBlue Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Tom Lawrence has signed for Cardiff on loan. Good. Should be room for one in irrespective of Rhodes then?
Norbert Rassragr Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Exactly what I think Kieran. An attacking midfielder and a left back would probably be enough whatever happens to Rhodes. Then the serious rebuilding can happen in the summer. If a deal like Pratley and Clough for £3m could be done in time after Rhodes leaves I'd still push it through though.
