Gav Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Tragic news of his passing, had battled cancer for the past 18 months apparently gone at just 69. A true legend, genius, very sad news.

LewisF Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Terrible news to wake up to, and an awful loss to the world. Thanks for all the great times David, Rest In Peace.
andyroversmad Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Very sad to hear this news, he will live forever through his music. RIP David Bowie.
ABBEY Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 A legend in the music world RIP , not my sort of music but a legend non the loss.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 11, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted January 11, 2016 Very sad indeed. I always listen to 6 Music on the Radio and they had been doing something for his birthday last week and I'm sure he was meant to be on this morning for an interview I'm convinced of it. In any event, a musical legend, a one-off. RIP.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Very sad news. I'm not a fan of his but he was very influential in his field.
BlueMonday Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I also wasn't a follower of his music, but acknowledge he was a music legend. Will be sadly missed.
T J Hooker Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Only released his latest album last week, real shame, sorry for his family he was a true icon and musical genius(and i dont use that word lightly) and all around inspirational being, Thanks for the memories and the music x (He was also the source of the name t.j.newton )
Reedy You're A Star Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Tragic. We've lost another legend too soon. Hope he's up there jamming with Freddie and Hendrix! RIP Bowie.
Wolves_Rover Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Was woken up at 7.30 am with the tragic news. Bowie was my first gig. Sound & Vision tour. Will be missed here and everywhere. RIP.
GingerSnaps Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Shocker hearing this today, didn't know the poor guy was battling the big C. RIP.
oldjamfan1 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This is well worth reading https://blueyedboy.wordpress.com/2013/05/31/when-bowie-came-to-blackburn-40-years-on/
Audax Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 My condolences as well; I listened to a number of his albums for awhile. He certainly had some very good songs he penned, very creative.
T J Hooker Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 With the range of music styles hes experimented with over the years, there really is something for everybody taste in there
Jock Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 69 is a good age for his lifestyle. I liked him in Stella Street.
Baz Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Absolute legend. Made some of the best music ever made, and was a major influence on many other top artists too. Will be sadly missed, but it seems given the new album, he knew it was coming so got to say his goodbyes. His music will live on for generations to come. Bowie and Freddy Mercury singing Under Pressure acapela
Backroom Mike E Posted January 11, 2016 Backroom Posted January 11, 2016 Not my cup of tea, but he contributed to the Guardians of the Galaxy playlist and that'll do for me! RIP Bowie. Don't be singing that cruddy White Christmas with Bing Crosby up there.
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Bought Hunky Dory on vinyl back in the day. Recently upgraded it to cd along with Aladdin Sane. I was genuinely quite upset when I heard the news this morning. RIP. Legend.
T J Hooker Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Bowies newly released final video Lazarus, brilliantly bonkers right till the end
T J Hooker Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 And the piece of gorgeous Epic freakyness from a couple of months ago
T J Hooker Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Finally from me, Showing his gentler side here in one of his last live tv appearances https://youtu.be/D6pC5T1AqsQ
AggyBlue Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP David and thank you for the sound track to my life. A huge fan since I first saw him as Ziggy at Preston Guild Hall in 1973. I have a collection of all his studio albums, twenty odd albums of out takes and tracks that didn't make an official album plus over one hundred live gigs. As well as lots of other stuff. Glad I made the effort and got front row seats for his last UK tour. 11 January 2016 will be forever etched in my memory.
Audax Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I can take or leave the band meaning The Runaways ('70s girl group) and I saw the movie on them. It is poignant that their lead singer sang at a high school talent show, she sang "Lady Grinning Soul", Bowie had a number of songs, that had a good riff and hook to them, listening to some of the songs on the radio today. I'm a big Mott the Hoople fan, Ian Hunter fan, so, of course, they did "All the young dudes" and that album was produced by Bowie. Now, "Fame" has just come on which is co-written I believe with John Lennon, a big hit from the "Young Americans" album. I always wondered how much of it is JL and how much of it is DB. And "Across the Universe" (Beatles song if it needs to be said) he did on that album too, I always liked that. "Space Oddity", in my view, just a landmark song. Ian Hunter is like 76 years old and last I knew, still performing.
