Neal Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Great stuff Neal. Very supportive of this. We need a poll options and for this to fed into the next joint group meeting. Agreed. I think this structure though is the best way to approach it.

Leonard Venkhater Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Sounds like the B-side to Leonard Venkhaters Chicken Train Blues, get composing Leonard No. That would have to be "Desolation Rao....."
McClarky Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 How do you pronounce that funny squiggle in front of VenkysOut?
Baz Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 How do you pronounce that funny squiggle in front of VenkysOut? Hash
DanLad Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Venkys Out, or #venkysout It explains exactly what the goal is. It has effectively been around for years, and already trended on social media, so we can't be accused of being fickle due to a bad start to the season. Could the Knights be twisted to a racist thing?

It would only be racist if you volunteered to be the Grand Wizard.
DanLad Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 It would only be racist if you volunteered to be the Grand Wizard. I am trying to anticipate what some media people might try to twist it to be.
McClarky Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 VenkysOut is good, drop the hash though unless you are actually on Twitter or else it looks and sounds very silly.
CAPT KAYOS Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Not blue and white knights. As someone else said, we shouldn't need to pinch other clubs ideas. Totally agree Rovers Preservation Society - too formal/against purpose? ( can 'borrow' the tune from the Italian Job as a chant also) I like the RAVE or BRAVO #ve??ysout
bob fleming Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Rovers Against Venkys Just about sums it up for me. Says who we are (make it clear for everyone, exclude no one), it says we don't want them, explains who they are. #venkysout is great - but is secondary and a Social Media thang.
jim mk2 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 R overs A gainst V enky E xploitation You don't need the the Exploitation bit but Rovers Against Venky's, or RAVE for short, is good. RAVE sums up our anger over the situation so RAVE it ought to be.

Rovers against Venky's is the kind of thing that the media will twist to makes us sound like haters, or racist. We've got to be savvy and promote our cause in a way that generates sympathy from the whole football community and more. Making it sound like a battle bewteen Venky's and us is a no, no in my opinion. It's too confrontational. I know VenkysOut isn't exactly ground breaking but it's clean and precise without any permutations. ps A customer left a note on my desk today whilst I was out for lunch. They follow me on twitter and signed off the note with #venkysout They're not rovers supporters.

Maybe, there is away of linking several different ideas in a way that enhances rather than watering down key the message, but we would have to take care. Personally, I loved another poster's strap line: Venky's-Destroying football for families since 2010.. Different actions and protests could have slogans too...whistleblowing on the Venky's is another suggestion that works for me. The key thing is that we maintain our agreement of keeping focus on the owners.

Like a lot of what's going on (particularly on here) it's hard to gauge the outside perception when you're so close to something. You just have to trust your instincts. If non Rovers are using it then clearly it's working!
Neal Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Why would 'Rovers Against Venkys' be perceived as racist?
Ribble Rover Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Why would 'Rovers Against Venkys' be perceived as racist? The knights thing may be linked to KKK
Roverall Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I don't think there should be any group. We may offend someone. Get behind the team FFS
ChrisyG Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Why would 'Rovers Against Venkys' be perceived as racist? It's not, however the media (SKY SPORTS) may twist it that way when the protests get ramped up a notch. #venkysout

The cleaner the message the better.
Pedro Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Arrested for carrying a whistle. Blue and White Knights has racist connotations. Good God, bloody man up! ...that's sexist no doubt.
JohnD Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 A few people from brfc.com who rarely attend matches and who would like to see the Rao family sell the club.
Stuart Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 "The 18/75 Movement" Picks up the themes of: - A group of town folk meeting in Blackburn to set up the original club - which is what we are fighting for. - The first protest idea generated by the coalition. - The 18th and 75th minutes being symbolic of protests. - A shared goal by the various fan groups coming together as one unified movement for change.
perthblue02 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 No. That would have to be "Desolation Rao....." Based on Voodoo Ray?, because that is what is now playing in my head
