Wow, a Rovers midfield player actually running more than half the length of the field with the ball. Is that still allowed ?

Nice reminder of what a good all round player Garner could be as well, really came alive in these games. I loved Rhodes as much as the next fan but as a player he could hold a candle to Garns. Whatever happened to strikers of his ilk they've all but disappeared in recent years.

Rumour on Wharton is if he plays another senior game he gets an extension to his contract and s 2k per week rise.

A promising young player who's proved ready for the step up and a modest wage rise or a short term contract to a 35 year old who's only managed 50 games in 5 years ?

Utter farce

Mind you it's probably just down to the legendary we'll get back to you with important decisions once every two months venkscum again.

Mm, you must have backed Villa to win by a mile.

We have to try something, it can't get any worse.

3 at the back is the way to go nowadays imo and there's no better opportunity than when we don't have any proper fullbacks in the squad...

So what happens if a centre half or Mulgrew get's injured? There's a bloody good chance of that happening aswell!

Hope Akpan? Aside from that you could put money on Wharton not playing until January and we sell someone to fund his new contract and then he'll suddenly be back in the first team picture...

Ignore the back line and that team has a decent look to it on paper. More mismanagement and the usual dose of crap ownership leaves us with no proper defence again. No good when your fighting a relegation battle that's for sure.

Just realised the lack of defensive cover on the bench. What are we, a pub side? If they won't sign off on Wharton's new deal then at least get another youngster on the bench who can actually defend. Coyle's excuses will be made for him now today if/when Mulgrew or Greer break down, when in reality it's just rank bad management.
