The Gull Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Unfortunately no mention of Indian authorities being involved HERE Wonder what the implications are if found guilty? Would it impact the barcodes promotion?

AllRoverAsia Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 This will get very interesting. I suspect it is just the start. I wonder if Mike C is more nervous than usual. Maybe weeing his nickers.
Bigdoggsteel Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 They are both "big clubs" in the Premier league. Nothing will come of this. Although both owners are extremely dodgy. Knock off Mike and the 2 porn barons.

A cup of beans Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 If Newcastle are demoted, surely this means our relegation is cancelled.
gumboots Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 But if Newcastle were to have their results for this season wiped out, we'd lose 6 points.
AllRoverAsia Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 The FA will turn a blind eye they are too busy crucifying Moyes to no doubt collect a chunky fine. HMRC on the other hand will if found guilty collect back tax, levy massive fines and quite probably bang a few up. And that is for starters.
arbitro Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Hopefully HMRC find some incriminating evidence and extend their investigations into more football clubs (including ours). It's about time football was brought into the real world and had to comply with laws like the rest of other businesses.
broadsword Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 If anyone is going to do it, it will be HMRC. The FA is not fit for purpose. It really should be reformed by the government. Bent as a three-speed walking stick.
J*B Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Florian Thauvin. Signed by Newcastle, from Marseille. Then sold back to Marseille. Agent Mondial Sports Management. Diego Payet. Signed by West Ham, from Marseille. Then sold back to Marseille. Agent Mondial Sports Management. Remt Cabella. Signed by Newcastle, from Marseille. Then sold back to Marseille. Agent Mondial Sports Management. Draw your own conclusions.
Backroom DE. Posted April 26, 2017 Backroom Posted April 26, 2017 No chance this affects Newcastle getting promoted. A fine (possibly hefty) for both and a warning not to do it again. Everyone goes back to feeding out of the trough.

speeeeeeedie Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I read that it was to do with image rights. Apparently they are taxed differently. However, it could be a cover story. A blind man on a galloping horse can see that football is bent; I don't think that there has been a time when it wasn't. There's lots of money to be made, a lot of it off naïve young men who have no clue what they are getting into. If HMRC are leading the charge the FA will sit back and do nothing. They'll say that it's not in their field of oversight.

Baz Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Surely you relegate Newcastle to league one and wet spam to the championship?
Pedro Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I was thinking it was something to with serial transferrer Demba Ba.
gumboots Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Did West Ham get the punishment they deserved last time they broke the transfer rules with Tevez and Mascherano? Did they heck! Brookings connection appeared to protect them and id expect the same this time. Individuals may be done, but not the club

Individuals may be done, but not the club If, as reported, the investigation is for income tax and NIC fraud surely it would be individuals who have to be targeted? These are personal rather than business taxes. I fully agree the club will have been complicit but wouldn't be surprised if the law requires the investigation to be of individuals. It would then be up to the FA to tackle the clubs? From Rovers' perspective investigating individuals might be a better route to the truth? Transfer dealings might break FA rules but would only be if interest to HMRC if there was tax fraud.

Not really up until last year companies used to do a shadow company trick and run payrolls out of Ireland. Only got outlawed last year, il dig out the specifics of the scheme as I've forgotten quite a bit about it
Lancaster Rover Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 The only way the football authorities will get involved with sanctions is if the cheating allowed them to gain a material benefit in footballing matters, that's the main reasoning behind Rangers getting stripped of their titles. They were able to bring in players they couldn't afford giving them a material footballing benefit to financially cheating. If that can be proven for West Ham and Newcastle their is a chance but I wouldn't hold your breath. Baroness Brady of Westminster will see to that.
