chaddyrovers Posted Wednesday at 19:55 Posted Wednesday at 19:55 fair play to those who have gone to the games live in the stadium and that's great commitment and expensive asked for people but also those who are fans of the women's games, not watched any of the women's Euro so far and won't be watching the final. I just don't any interest in women football and I will be watching the darts. Just isn't for me personally Quote

I didn't watch last night as I was watching the darts and just like I am tonight. Luke Littler up now to play Quote
jim mk2 Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Posted Wednesday at 21:52 So, it's England v Spain in the final on Sunday Time for England revenge but win or lose It's going to be a great occasion. Can't wait. Rather better than watching a pub game of beer-swilling fat men throwing 'arrers 2 Quote

Selecting the best 11 to start will be crucial. 2 Quote
jim mk2 Posted Wednesday at 22:39 Posted Wednesday at 22:39 Spain have such skilful players - rather like their men in fact. England will have to be more careful with their passing and cut out the silly mistakes. And they need to start well instead of having to chase the game again. Spain are favourites for me because of their better ability but this England team hopefully will put a fight as always. 3 Quote
Mattyblue Posted Thursday at 07:16 Posted Thursday at 07:16 It take it the women’s football is on TNT? Quote
Mattyblue Posted Thursday at 07:37 Posted Thursday at 07:37 Oh, so he doesn’t watch all football apart from when it’s on TNT after all… Quote

London blue Posted Thursday at 09:14 Posted Thursday at 09:14 Would you mind leaving those of us that enjoy women's football to talk about it without you, then? I'm hopeful of either Kelly or Agyemang starting the final. 6 Quote
M_B Posted Thursday at 11:18 Posted Thursday at 11:18 Granddaughter played a good few Friday nights last season, along with her Saturday and Sunday teams, so I actually watch a lot more live (young) women's football than men's. 1 Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted Thursday at 12:13 Author Posted Thursday at 12:13 Anybody who’s watched the last 3 women’s games can’t have failed to be excited. At least they play right to the end unlike the men’s team who once they go behindthere’s not much in the way of a come back. 1 Quote

While obviously not to the same degree, they're developing somewhat of the Real Madrid "we always win" reputation. Spain could well scupper us but I'd enjoy nothing more than a drab performance and stolen win on Sunday. Quote

Wouldn't even mind a dodgy decision or two going our way. The crying online from other nations about the length of injury time and the penalty were great fun other night. Particularly odd as I thought 7 mins was fairly conservative considering what had gone before. 3 Quote
London blue Posted Thursday at 14:25 Posted Thursday at 14:25 Yeah I was thinking at least 7. Same again, please. Quote
aletheia Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Looking forward to the women tomorrow. No predictions here but surely we have to play better. Low block? 😉 Spain most of possession? Who knows? On a side note one thing that irritates. Spain and ‘Pep’ football, (which of course is ubiquitous here now in other teams) obviously highly successful and highly skilful. But…. …take an old fashioned ‘English’ full back challenge on a winger –honest attempt to get the ball, gets it badly wrong and of course it looks horrible and (nowadays) yellow card ensues. The one that irritates is the ‘Pep’ foul – so called weaker side gets the turnover only for the ‘classier’ side to stop the breakaway with what looks like an innocuous foul (the sneaky trip, the push, the pull of shirt etc). This stops breakaways and potential goals – Fernandinho the master – doesn’t look spectacularly bad and often no punishment. You can rotate the person doing the ‘innocuous’ foul too. Anyway, good luck lionesses. 2 Quote

It’s getting established in the game at all levels. As you say City are the worst culprits. 1 Quote

That's not strictly true.the men's team went behind in all 3 knock out games and went on to win mostly in the dying minutes. Unless your talking about women's football in general Edited 14 hours ago by roverandout Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Not always. A seems to depend on whereabouts on the pitch you are. If it’s in your own half sometimes all you get is free kick. Sometimes nothing. Quote

A bit like Rovers at the moment. The women seem to be able to find a way. 1 Quote
AspRover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Both England and Spain have looked weakest against teams that have pressed and harried, been big and physical and not allowed them time on the ball (France and Sweden for us, Germany for them) - If both teams try to play 'plan A' I think Spain will win and fairly comfortably, but I think we have better players to get stuck in and be aggressive. It would mean changing our style a bit, which is something Wiegman generally does not like to do, but I think that is the way we give ourselves a chance at the win. My worry is that we've had very little squad rotation and two hard fought extra time games, so if we do try to press and harry and bully the Spaniards it has to produce results before we run out of steam...
