Upside Down Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Great statement there. Obviously I will be boycotting as I have been for the last 15 years. Not A Penny More needs to be the rallying cry of this fanbase. Giving them money is subsidising their ownership. 7 Quote
StHelensRover Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Can people who are more active on social media share what the sentiment is in response to this call from fan groups for a boycott? Obviously there will be some club plants and the usual Venky lovers who spring to their defence, but can people try and capture the general mood of the response and share here? I haven't used Facebook for over a year and got rid of twitter last year too. I'll boycott on Saturday. I'll probably go Sheff Weds away and Hull in the cup out of guilt, but that's paying their owners not ours. Or is this a call to boycott ALL BRFC fixtures? benhben Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Love the letter. Agree with every single word. My only worry is it is just words that may not be seen or respected by enough supporters that it doesn't have any effect. I sincerely hope the fan base are brave enough to follow through. If it leads to a mass player exodus, administration and relegation..but forces the cancers out it is worth it. Need to spread the word. Get in the media! 5 Quote

Tomphil2 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago There's been between 5 and 9k actually turning up but all of a sudden they are getting offended at the word 'boycott' ! Astounding hypocrisy from some on social media. 4 Quote

If everyone could just bite the bullet and stay away for just one match initially and see what traction that gets it could be a massive moment in the history of the club. There'll never be an attendance of zero, but if we could have a game where there is max 1 or 2 thousand home fans in a 31k seater stadium it would get attention. It would surely be the emptiest ground actively used ground in Europe as a percentage of the capacity. Edited 13 hours ago by StHelensRover 14 Quote
Tugayslongwalkoff Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Unfortunately no letter is going to change anything. It won’t even be seen by the owners. The club is rotting, there’s no way back the damage is too great now. This is going to be our last season in the Championship for many many years. 2 Quote
RTM08 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Can't complain at all with that, and it will put to rest my umming and ahhing over whether I get a new shirt. I don't get to many home games anyway, but I'll aim for the Wednesday away game rather than the home games over the Christmas period. As others have said, whether there is a significant fanbase left to completely boycott remains to be seen, but there's no harm in trying. Already seeing a lot of backlash on certain areas of social media. 1 Quote
Popular Post StHelensRover Posted 13 hours ago Popular Post Posted 13 hours ago I've been sent this from Twitter The call for a boycott is targeting the fixture versus Watford in January, so that people who have already bought tickets for the next fixtures are not out of pocket. 11 Quote
Mattyblue Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago We’ll see how it pans out, but the replies to the Coalition’s Twitter post says we are still a long way from, say, where Blackpool’s fanbase was with NAPM. 1 Quote

wilsdenrover Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago What’s the chances the club announces an offer for the Watford game? 🤔 1 Quote

Leonard Venkhater Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Thanks to everyone who worked on these messages. I will make it my business to back them up on social media etc. 3 Quote
Displaced Rover Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Reaction to this on social media is predictably depressing. “Who would buy us?”, “they can’t invest!”, “support the team FFS” I fear most willing to boycott are already doing it (and have been for some time). Quote
scotchrover Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I’ve stopped myself from saying this up until now, but if you’re still going and giving them your money after this statement, you’re part of the problem. You’re supporting Venky’s. People who’ve bought season tickets are obviously in a sticky situation with this, BUT imo have a duty not to use them. #NAPM 4 1 Quote

Yep lots of ‘well I won’t be boycotting’ and ‘and who exactly would buy us?’ Quote
47er Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) One wonders what joy anyone gets out of going to Ewood this season anyway, particularly for a night match,. Its expensive, the state of the ground is depressing, there's no atmosphere, its often on TV where its warm and we invariably lose. Edited 4 hours ago by 47er Quote
Gamst Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago The letter is excellent! Kudos and thanks to those who composed it. Professionally written and difficult to dispute the facts stated. I don’t attend Ewood regularly as I don’t live locally, but I will certainly boycott from now on. I do spend stupid amounts on merch for me and my son though…NAPM until they’re gone!! It’s time to unite as a fanbase to get rid of our traitorous owners and their stooges. Vive la resistance! 💪🏽 1 Quote
Fraserkirky Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Well done those involved in producing that letter. Watford at home seems like a smart idea, gives folk time to prepare. Week before transfer window closes. Need to try it. 1 Quote
