Tbh, despite all the hype, Batty has hardly been a sensation at Accrington.  Bit disappointed he hasn't signed a new contract, but if he's going to be like that let him go..   Anyone remember Adam Henley?

Now we've got Ribeiro, Pickering and now De Neve for the left hand side, Batty is probably thinking his chances will be very limited.

Plus Powell coming through who looks to be really good.

Still playing for Chorley, had a few unfortunate injury problems that hampered his league career but the signing of a 5 year contract on 5k a week so young did him no favours at all.

I doubt Batty has had that luxury yet.

Out of contract guys not expected back for preseason, no surprise there and don't expect we resign them anyway.

Interesting that Batty hasn't resigned though, assume he wants to go get1st team football somewhere.

Batty getting 1st team football is what he should be doing at his age.

The lad's 20 now and not improving.  Don't think the spell at Stanley did anything for him.  At one stage, thought he was a good prospect.  Time to move him on.

At 20 there's still time tbh although I'm only slightly optimistic.

I don't know what happened with Batty, but he seems to have hit a brick-wall.

He won Stanley's Young Player of the Year Award last season. He simply needs game time.

Who else was in the running for that award ?

Jake Batty close to agreeing a new deal according to Elliot.

I imagine the plan is to get him another loan next season and see where he's at after that.

Guarantee that he is the new 2nd choice LB and Pickering is the new left footed CB we desperately needed...

It's like two new players.

Probably at a very low wage (albeit more than he would earn at a league 1 or 2 club), so he would only agree to a short term extension

More likely Rovers aren’t sure if he’s good enough so a 1 year deal with an option. He’s also cheap and can plug a gap on the bench if either of our 2 LB’s get injured.

Yeah I think there's something like that to it too.

Also the fact that we don't have to register him this coming season as he isn't 21 yet so won't take up a squad place.

Personally think he will get a top end of League 2, or bottom end of League 1 loan

Turning out to be the longest saga(s) ever? (these contract “negotiations”).

Or is it an (unlikely) case of no news is…..

Contradicts Gestede’s comments a few months ago when he suggested we were close to announcing some extensions - same old story.

Gestede's racking up quite the collection of lies under his belt.

Suppose that is what he is paid to do - keep feeding the fans excuses and nonsense whilst chief stooge guts the club behind the scenes.

Its not a saga if we literally never even offer a contract in the first place.

If we had seemingly 2 midfielders lined up, one signed and one in talks, why did we rush to get Forshaw back in having released him?

There's a hint of Steve Kean syndrome about Gestede imo.

In terms of he's over ambitious and his connections have rushed him into a position way above his head but now he's there he'll say anything to remain there.

No doubt he wants the team to be successful but he needs to realise pretty quickly only the truth will suffice here there is no tolerance for flannel or BS.  They say once bitten twice shy well you can times that by 100 for this remaining fanbase never mind the fact Lancastrians can see lies coming from a thousand paces away.

You aren't a politician Rudy so don't spin like one.
