Mowbray, whether people like him or not, is at least twice the manager / coach that Ismael is. I would have him back for the rest of the season in a heartbeat.

At any other club, Ismael would be under intense pressure.

I'd be saying here's 18 months. keep us up then stabilise next seas on and take it from there.

Might as well roll the dice and at least you know what you get with Mowbray but to be honest even he probably wouldn't touch it with a barge pole now.

Not what I said. I said "at times" we were capable of some decent play under those two.

I certainly don't think he's much of an upgrade though. Personally I find him nearly as dislikeable as Kean as well although I know some people seem to like him for some strange reason.

Some people like him because he has very lightly criticised the owners by complaining about the pitch. Some people also like the way he throws all the players individually under the bus by slagging them off in public (I don't like that myself, it doesn't seem to have worked with any of them).

I don't like him because I don't think he's a very good football manager. He's been a manager for a decade or more, and the most success he's ever had was getting Barnsley into 6th place in the season behind closed doors. Everywhere else in England he has been a dud.

I mean for me that was him bailing the owners out on the pitch front.

"It's ok guys, just use the January transfer budget!"

Has anyone else had the rumour through of a bust up yesterday at the training ground between Ismael and some senior players?

it's that time of year....

0-2 down at home with a 5 man defence and two sitting midfielders. Just leaves it hoping we somehow get back in the game.

They guy is tactically inept and a large reason why we score so little goals.

There's only one left and he'll be off soon anyway.

Hughes is struggling to get Carlisle out of the National League. Leave him there.

Mowbray I can see the logic in as an emergency short term measure but won't happen for a few reasons:

1) They aren't going to sack Ismael - that would involve paying up 2 years+ of his contract

2) Even if they did their pride/agendas would prevent them turning to Mowbray - going cap in hand to the bloke they got rid of - no way

3) There's no way he'd operate under Pasha and Gestede's nonsense having been here previously with his own cushy set up

Yes Ismael would be gone at any other club. 2 home wins in 8 months = unacceptable, 1 win in 9 = unacceptable, performances are unacceptable, league position is unacceptable.

The difference is other clubs are professional competitive football clubs that exist to win and respond to performances and results. Blackburn Rovers is no such things. It is a sham, a fake, a vehicle for non-footballing purposes.

So he can sit tight and see what gifts Rudy has lined up to bolster his squad.

Hughes is manager of Carlise, got 10k crowd last week and have ambitious American owners

He’s way too good to be down there in that league

I can't see the logic. He relegated an arguably better side than this one in 2017.

The only reason they’d sack him now is to create an excuse for not making any signings.

Cheaper to sack him than make the 4 new signings that he apparently wants.

Ismael reckons the squad is the equal if not better than the one that finished last season

If that’s the case, why are we struggling so badly (injuries notwithstanding) and have sunk from near the top of the league when Ismael took over to close to bottom?

Could it just be Valeri that you’re not very good?

But cheaper to keep him than to appoint a manager who will not be satisfied with signing your Tavares, De Neves, and Henrikssons.

There's always someone willing to come and work in those conditions unfortunately.

The players are shite, as bad as any I can remember, but this guy is just as useless.
We look so completely devoid of ideas, he obviously doesn’t have any of his own.
He’s someone I find it difficult to like as well.
