Bohinen1983 Posted Friday at 05:33 Posted Friday at 05:33 I think we need: A ball carrying center mid. Another pacey winger. More quality up front. Perhaps an extra center half - we fell apart when Batth was out.. Â Quote

I thought it would be similar to Phillips who could have just gone for a bit of compo before he signed his first pro deal with his £2m release clause in it. 10 hours ago, Tugayisgod said: More from the RoversXtra account on Travis  Nonsense that account is. Yes, he has signed a scholarship contract which ties him to the club until the summer of 2026. Phillips signed both a scholarship contract (at the time he was still going by Famuyiwa rather than Phillips), & then a pro contract for the maximum time allowed of 3 years given his age. The pro contract was the contract with a release clause included Edited Friday at 07:52 by KentExile 1 Quote

As I remember Gregg saying that if we hadn't have tied Phillips down to a pro deal with a release clause, then we would have got just a few hundred grand compo instead, or does that just come in when the scholarship ends and he technically becomes a free agent? Yes Assuming that the story is true and Man Utd, Chelsea & Liverpool are all chasing him, and want to sign Tyjon whilst he is still under contract, a bid has to be made and accepted. If Tyjon has made his mind up already & Man Utd are happy to wait a year, then ias long as Rovers offer him a deal, it would then come down to compensation at a tribunal (unless the clubs agree a fee) Edited Friday at 08:00 by KentExile 1 Quote

Danny Batth would unlikely be given another contract after next season, so the new CB can then move up the pecking order the following season. We wouldn't be able to keep Carter, Hyam, Wharton, Batth and another CB all happy, if they were all fit to play Quote
TheRevAshton Posted Friday at 08:00 Posted Friday at 08:00 (edited) Mustapha Bundu would be a coup; Free Agent at the end of the season, not currently on huge wages. 10 goals and 6 assists for a terrible Plymouth this season. One of Kargbo's pals as well, a fellow Sierra Leone international (remember they snapped a pic together when we played). Makes a lot of sense, he's fast, dangerous in attack and clearly hitting his prime. On the other hand, I imagine other suitors would probably come in with better offers than us... but hopefully the Club show at least a little ambition and give it a go! The whole system is bullshit, totally broken and just geared up for the big clubs. 3 Quote

We poached Tyjon from Rochdale for I imagine peanuts, then will probably make over a million quid for just developing him. We're the middle men in such a food chain. The system all around is completely wrong. 1 Quote

Potentially a useful and clever pickup but his career is really nomadic and this is the first season really where hes done ok at 28. Quote

We've needed more quality up front since Adam Armstrong left but (decent) strikers cost money. On the CH positions, hopefully Scott Wharton will be back and somewhere near his best. I hope we give Batth a new deal. Carter should be back but will he be sold? I certainly wouldnt be averse to selling Hyam if we can get our money back on him as I dont rate him at all. He's only any use with someone like Batth or Wharton playing particularly well alongside him. 2 Quote
roversfan99 Posted Friday at 11:49 Posted Friday at 11:49 Hyam also had a very good spell alongside Carter under Tomasson. Carter seems to be still seen as our biggest asset but for those 2 years since its been a mixture of injuries and poor form. Hyam is a good defender at this level. Being signed by Broughton wont help his reputation with you though. Quote

Ricky Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) I’ll get Bundu tapped up. I know quite a few lads who are still in touch with him from his time playing non league at Hereford. He was at Hartbury on a scholarship at the time and had a good season with Hereford. I’ve enjoyed seeing him do well. The other player from around that time was Dara O’Shea who always looked steady but nothing special. He’s gone on to have a very good career. Edited 20 hours ago by Ricky Quote
yankfan Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Predict we will make no signings, before preseason, have all out of contract players walk for nothing, then with a week left in the window bring in 4 premier league academy kids to block our own and 2 last minute signings of players no one has heard of. Edited 9 hours ago by yankfan 1 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago At least we've learned under big Val that Toth isn't another Leo and is more than a capable replacement for Pears. So an experienced English Championship keeper barely turned 27 is up for grabs for a modest fee plus add ons. Come and get him. 1 Quote
