He did play a fair amount (by comparison) the season before.  Without knowing too much about what happened, maybe it ws just a case of him having a similar break out season, and then regression/finding his level that Adam Henley had?   (how is he only 30?  It seems like a lifetime ago)

a couple of friends who are PNE supporters don't agree with the decision and the dreadful way he found out

Does he suit Ismael's style more than the likes of Gueye? If so then it's a no brainer given his age as well.

I wouldn't sign him cos I think we need a striker with pace and movement which Riis doesn't fit for me.

As expected to be honest

He has only been a bit part player for them in the past month.  Hasn't even got off the bench in the past 2 games.

Seems not to be trusted against the better sides in the division, and also not trusted if they are holding on to a lead, so would only expect to see him in the play offs if they are behind & need a late goal

That's abysmal. It's one thing if the story leaks before the player is informed, it's another thing to announce it publicly, in any forum let alone social media, before the very simple task of informing the player. Basic decency. Expect us to follow suit.

What I want to know, is what is the hierarchy if you have a lead scout (Cairney) a senior scout (Sadowski) and a chief scout (if they ever manage to get around to replacing Park) 😉

Yes, I don't think he suits how they are playing but I think agree with @simongarnerisgodthat his level is league 2

we never replace John Park but we have a few scouts who worked for us and report to Gestede.

Not to be too much a Debby downer but we're not signing anyone till a fortnight from the start of the season, and even then it'll be a drawn out process till the window end.  

More than likely too that whatever incoming requires offsetting against a leaver.  In years gone by we had assets departing with significant wages but the law of diminishing returns suggests we reach a final hurrah on that front too. 

For my own sanity, I remain in the 'unknown french signing' camp ahead of the 'veteran/lower league punt' for nothing more than the novelty of it all
