This cracked me up.

"We're very happy with your client, Balazs Toth, so much so that he will be our number one next season... anyway, this is how much we want for him."

Honestly, this Club...

His agent is just being an idiot like most agents are

It's not often I agree with the club on anything but 1 year deals for players of Baath and Weimann's age is something I have no issue with.

Don't disagree, however, it's about how you structure their offer.

Clearly, they came on relatively low wages so they can be significantly increased and then supplement that with a sliding scale of appearance money.  For example if we get a similar number of games out of Baath this season he is deservedly rewarded.  It's not feckin rocket science.

However, think it's pretty clear Baath and Weimann are gone as I think Brittain and Travis will be and also probably Tronstad.  What an awful feckin mess we are in.

Think Sagnan and Nade links is all bullshit.  Firstly, if other clubs are in for them it's game over and secondly, we simply will not pay the transfer fees and wages that would be needed.

Do we read that as he wants out of this shitshow?

Flip him for a profit is Suhail's dream, consequences be damned

Sell him, make £1m profit, restore Pears as No.1, promote the recently new contracted Jack Barrett to No.2.

Sorted (in Suhail's world)

I think Hedges would work well with Brittain down that channel. Hedges can cut inside or play Callum in for the cross. Plus offers good defensive duties

It hasn't worked for the two years prior to last season, so it's fanciful to think it works to any degree next season.

Tbh you’re just guessing here using your anger to form an opinion. Batth is very likely to want 2 years to gurantee/see out his career and for all the badness/madness this club has put us through I do agree with their stance on this given his age and previous injury record

We wont be loaning him out. But how do you know if Ismael rates him?

Look at Ismael's comments on the player.

"Pessimistic" about resigning Batth and Weimann, so predictable. We have low-balled them with 1-year contracts and they want to leave. Club to spin as greedy older players/wanted guarantees to start.

Replacement a toddler from the Belgian D tier.

Why would we offer them more than 1 year deal given their age? Batth is 35 years old in September

Why would Derby and a manager as good as Eustace offer him 2 ?

This club has a self inflicted no more than a year for over 30's policy and it's just another in a long line of stupid policies.

Like letting academy grads leave for nothing because they won't pay them a championship wage despite the number of appearances for instance.

Batth is worth 2 years for me.

I think he has proven he can play in at least 30 championship games this coming season.

26-27, even if he doesn't play as often i imagine he would be invaluable to have around the club and lads, considering every other bit of experience seems to getting pushed out of the club.

Weimann with his injury, I can understand the one year offer. I bet we have lowballed him on wages though.

Have Derby offer 2 year contract?

Wouldn't he already be sign there if that's was the case

We seem to be looking further afield for players which is fine but you need a proven group of Championship ready players to guide them.

You look at our core of best, proven Championship players. Brittain, Travis, Tronstad and Hyam all have a year left and are at risk of sale. Batth and Dolan are off.

Getting increasingly worried about this summer.

Feels like the club are feeding info that they have ambition (see French CB) that we were never ever signing.

Optimism around Batth signing a new contract (not happening)

Travis and Tronstad linked away.

7 signings + leavers needed.

So currently with Andi Weiman and Batth leaving that's 9 signings needed, that are able to make an immediate impact?

This Belgian won't be an immediate enigma.

So still require 9 signings of real quality.

We are on our way to relegation at this point.

He may well be an immediate enigma but that wouldnt be good.

I have to agree that whilst our approach always seems to lack long term planning I think 1 year is right for the likes of Batth and Weimann, sure the former would be a big loss but at the same time a guaranteed 2 year deal could be foolhardy.

One year plus and option with some incentives for him would be where I’d pitch it.

Weimann has been good but I wouldn’t be held to ransom there

According to your mate Nixon they were willing to meet that criteria.

Sounds like Rovers have offered good money but only 1 year which again is a bit stupid considering he wants to stay here. His dilemma might be more money here for another year or less at Derby but a 2 year deal.

If our lot can't find some middle ground to keep last seasons best defender they've weakened the team again before even losing anyone else.

He is a priority signing not an afterthought just because he's 34.

We defended better with Batth in the set up. 2 year deal is a must. Weimann on the other hand would be a gamble. Might not be the same player after latest surgery. Another setback and that’s a wasted squad spot and wages

Did he say that actually? Not sure he did. Not my mate, never met the guy ever.

So If Derby have offered Batth a 2 years contract, why 3 days later no deal sign or even rumours terms have been agreed.

Plus they been linked with Dion Sanderson and Paudie O'connor also

1 Year for Batth, with the option of an extra year.

Be crazy if we haven't thought about or even done that.

So, I suspect we haven't.

Just what am I guessing?

iMO, Rovers p1ss about with negotiations and show little nous or imagination.

With Batth, he's had an outstanding season, been a huge influence on the team and played almost 40 games.  He's still only 34 (Kevin Moran played in the PL with us till he was 38 and Tony Gale won a PL medal with us at the age of 35/36 - both centre backs).

For me, starting point should have been a substantial increase in basic given he joined on relatively low wages, a heavily linked appearance based bonus and a 2nd year option. Think there's a very good chance he would have snapped that up if put on the table early doors.

Not as precious about Weimann but a similar type of deal to Batth's without the 2nd year option .

IMO, there is neither nous nor gravitas at Ewood Park, just a clueless, amateurish shamble

Batth will be a colossal miss.

Hyam is useless without someone extremely steady alongside him.

Not too bothered about Weimann but of course if we lose him and Dolan then that's 14 goals missing from a forward line that was never exactly prolific in the first place.

Grim times.
