I know someone here mentioned before about losing out on bonus payments etc but if I were any of the 3 Iโ€™d sit down and either accept or decline the offer. If Iโ€™m declining then Iโ€™d hand in a transfer request. Why wouldnโ€™t they? Taking the chance on playing another season here to risk injury or really poor form which could lead to less interest next season

i doubt by putting in a transfer request the money they could potentially lose out on is ground breaking and could easily be made back with their new wage at a new clubย

I think you would be surprised, and it's why you very rarely see a player make an official transfer request these days.

I think all 4 would fancy themselves in the free transfer market next summer.

They would yes with plenty of options (as of now) but freak injuries and form needs considered. If rovers are fighting relegation or are indeed relegated that interest may not be as forthcomingย

ย Callum would be a massive loss. Heโ€™s the cog that gets us going. We lose Brittain and we lose our attacking identity. We can not afford to replace a player like thatย

We can, but we choose not too.

Relegation is a foregone conclusion this season ,I doubt we will get more than 30 points.

I suspect , none of the 4 players will be here on Feb 1st , my guess is 2 will leave in the last week of the transfer window , so we can not sign replacements .The other 2 in January , when we will be more or less down ..

I always find it strange when people suggest that Eustace should have just stayed here if he just wants half of our players.

One of his demands that wasnt granted was to give our key players new contracts. He clearly rated the core of players that we have here, the Championship proven ones, they had us 5th or 6th when he left. Here, he knew they would all soon be gone. If he can get some of them there, obviously he would like that. Built upon with players like Carlton Morris who I am also sure that he would have loved here if it was possible.

A ball hasn't been kicked yet, and already 1 of our new signings is out injured. Tavares will be out of the friendlies against Accrington and Everton. We could do with recruiting a top class medical team, for all the usual injuries we will get next season. No disrespect to the medical team at Ewood.

Not surprising with Tavares. "It only takes a minute ...๐ŸŽถ

I check on this thread, about once a week.
Itโ€™s amazing how dire some of the predictions are - certain relegation, our 4 best players leaving, etc.ย

Iโ€™ve said it before, most of yโ€™all were fans of the club years before I followed them, therefore, you know more about whatโ€™s going on behind the scenes, & what to expect. But, based on our strong finish, I canโ€™t see relegation, not this season, anyway. Also, If our four best players leave, the club has managed to find players to play at this level.ย

I refuse to concede anything, until we at least go to the Hawthornโ€™s. letโ€™s see who takes the pitch, before submitting to relegation.ย

Whilst I do agree we need to wait and see I do question the part of you saying if our 4 best players leave we have players that can play at this levelโ€ฆ..playing and competing at this level are two different things if all 4 were to go and not adequately replaced we will most certainly be down towards the bottomโ€ฆjust like two seasons agoย

I see this mentioned semi regularly and although I agree with the premise, there are 2 problems in the pipeline.

1. We will replace players who leave with inferior players. I don't necessarily mean by design, more that the law of averages state if we don't increase transfer spend, we will replace with inferior players.

2. If we have to keep replacing 3 or 4 of our best players every calendar year, then we aren't really building are we? At best we're rebuilding the sandcastle that a wave has just knocked down - knowing another wave will soon turn up.

All depends on how this window finishes and expectations aren't good.

Poss losing Travis & Brittain alongside Dolan, Batth and Weimann with no tried and tested replacements so i'm sorry but Mr Positive from Positivevill having his most positive day still wouldn't talk up our chances of having anything more than a rotten season.

BUT they could surprise us and actually recruit and keep together a good team however with this club nobody knows, not even them.

The only way Taveres deal comes close to the reported 2 mill fee is that the overall deal with wage/bonuses/add ons are all in. Some sites have him earning ย 5k per week at old club. Little pay rise at Rovers would take him around 1 mill over the course of 3 seasons. Then whatever fee and bonuses on top

The reported fee is ridiculous. Either it's not close to the actual fee or Rovers got fleeced. More likely that the club is leaking this information to make it look like they made a "significant investment".

Brittain and Beck were head and shoulders the two best full backs in the Championship last season.ย  We should be celebrating re-signing Beck again on loan by now but instead we are forced to worry about losingย Brittain instead!

Is there nothing to look forward to with this ownership? Every day something awful happens or is about to happen, is there no respite.

It grinds you down, it really does.ย  If the board has it's hands tied over funds why can't they at least better manage supporter expectations and just tell us what is or isn't going on. That doesn't cost anything!ย  WTF.

Now where did I put that season ticket money?!

Beck is raw and has a good future but best full back in the championship last season is a stretch

injured too muchย

To be fair, Rovers extremely limited funds probably aren't best directed at Left Back.ย  We've got two first team quality players there already. There's a decent argument neither are as good as Beck, but beggars can't be choosers sadly.ย

I'd have been much happier re-signing Batth personally.

I think it's clear why both JDT and Eustace wanted out and so soon after both joined Rovers.

IMO, the club is one deteriorating mess and the rot first set-in back in 2010 when our ownership changed.

Players are not fools and will have read the script and I think Brittain, Hyam, Travis and Tronstad are just biding their time waiting for the right opportunity to jump ship and who can blame them?ย  To have your 4 key players approaching a new season with just 12 months to go on their contracts is, IMO, catastrophic and gross mismanagement.ย  I have little doubt the football world is aware of our predicament and we are now so helpless and impotent as the vultures circle waiting to swoop and exploit our vulnerability.

It's been a long time coming, defying all conventional business/commercial sense even for the football industry, but, IMO, we are now seeing the beginning of the end.

Whilst the systemic managed decline is obviously cranking up a gear i think it's all designed so they can continue this fruitless ownership under a far lower cost lower hassle model.

Why are they determined to burn money?

Once again I ask the question: why do they own us?

What can they possibly get out of it?

Evidently they can't afford to run us properly.

They never have run the club properly , from the sacking of Allardyce to today , there's always been a suspicion ofย  skulduggery !

Looks like we are still haggling with Legia over a fee for Kapuadi, polish press reporting he wants to move and is refusing to sign a new deal with them.

Fully expect rovers to try and hold their nerve until the end of the window to try get him on the cheap.

Apparently the new offer is 300k more than the last one.

Season ticket sales - when people realise it is most likely our saleable assets of Brittain and Travis are likely to be sold.ย

However - people can't complain too much - as Venky tactics of holding onto players rather than cashing in before the end of contract got lots of criticism. Lets see if selling before players finish contracts gets similar ire.

Of course the easy thing would be to extend players contracts in good time. However, my own suspicion is that they haven't renewed the contracts of some of our bigger earners as there is no guarantee of revenue stream from our owners (despite what they say in the accounts) - so we can't commit beyond a certain level.ย

The 200 million pounds question.

Plenty theories that might make sense but non proved so far.
