If the season were to start tomorrow and no-one else were to come in or leave, the squad looks completely unbalanced.

Overloaded in midfield, severe lack of firepower up front and short of options at CB.

As it stands, given the glut of midfielders, difficult to think at least one of Travis or Tronstad won't be leaving.

As long as the first 11 are balanced, all is well.

Which striker do you want us to buy?

Let's also not forget how Valerian Ismael wants his team to play.

Midfielders are literally just there to press, and there's 0 playing through the lines.

One that knows where the back of the net is.

Do you think we've got enough up front?

What does that mean for us in your opinion?

Where’s the imbalance in that?

Where are the goals in that side?

Be lucky if anyone scores 5.

Is that based on that Barnsley spell where 99% of people think he did really well but you and your mate had him down as doing a terrible job?

He is into his 3rd job since and hasnt really replicated those direct tactics. That has led to a decrease in success, but thats beside the point.

Really Ohashi came here half way through the Japanese season, spent weeks injured and still scored more than 5, he will comfortably reach double figuresΒ

Based on what Ohashi scored 9 last season after already playing half a season granted that doesn’t mean much for this season but to say he will only get around half has no basisΒ

but ultimately it’s irrelevant you said there’s no balance there def is balanceΒ

a different debate as to the quality of those options can be hadΒ

No? I just asked who you wanted to sign as I have no idea who is available in a market where strikers are pretty scarce. Hence Derby spending Β£5mil on an American bloke who takes 4 touches and falls over his own feet.

With Carter and Hyam at the back we could be in for a repeat of the 23/24 season minus Sammie Szmodics.

Then it’s a good job it doesn’t start tomorrow

Ever since Barnsley he's been found out. Not much more I need to say on it.

That's a view of a few of my mates who played a high level and support Barnsley.

As stated that’s for another debate poster said if the season started tomorrow there’s clear imbalance in the team/squad….there isn’t however the quality of player can be put up for debateΒ

as for the front 4 cantwell and Ohashi I’m content withΒ

kargbo an unknownΒ

hedges def needs upgrading 100%

Baradji has played a lot on the right wing from what I’ve admittedly googled! However the video with him scoring with both feet from outside the box, cutting in from both sides was quite impressive.

Not sure that your mates being a team of fine players in their day is relevant.Β

But either way. You suggested that midfielders are just there to press ie the ball will be going over their head.

Since Barnsley, he has moved away from that direct style. We werent quite as direct as we had been when he came in. Therefore I am not convinced that your suggestion that midfielders are just there to press is an accurate one. It may have been under an Ismael team 5 years ago.

My point was not about his competence, he hasnt been as successful when trying to play more on the ground.Β

We had enough last season to just miss out on the play offs, Β after a summer of people saying we were doomed cos Sammie hadn’t been replaced.Β
Β

Who knows how this season will pan out? Not any of us that’s for sure.Β
