I am surprised that a lower Premier league team isn't sniffing around Brittain - and the very least one of the three relegated clubs. Boro, Derby or Wrexham - none are going to offer his true worth.Β

When was the last time Rovers received the true worth of any player they sold?

Due to a combination of contract mismanagement and the smell of those in charge being desperate for spare change to keep the lights on, Rovers get low balled on fees almost as often as they try to low ball their own players for contract offers

He isn't near Prem standard really he was probably the best RWB last season outside of the top 6 clubs but we are talking one good season not several consistent ones.

2.5 million is too cheap for us to be letting him go but if they are getting 3 million plus for a guy with only a year left it's fair game i suppose but the whole point is it should never have come to this and had no need to in his case, it's ALL on the club again.

If they'd tied him down as they should have, no excuses on this one, then any interested clubs would have to be starting their bidding with a 4.

of course they are

I am sure that we could all name one or 2 who will immediately jump onto that bandwagon

Britain shouldn’t refuse to play he is employed for another year, refuse to sign a new contract but don’t act like a toddler and do your job.

As in virtually every case once the club propaganda pushers and the usual clowns have shouted loud enough.

I used to defend our small fanbase to the hilt but i don't care anymore it's chock full of clowns these days certainly in social media world.

Who said he's refused to play ?

It's an anonymous account on social media FFS and there is nothing unusual about a player under offer from another club being pulled from a game.Β  It could be his agent it could be Rovers saying better to sit this one out and his head will be all over the shop anyway what's the point of risking turning an ankle or getting a kick on the calf in a friendly ?

10k/week wage cap having its effect, no new deals for Tronstad, Travis and Hyam as they are already on over that amount, Brittain will obviously earn more elsewhere.

We will see after the transfer deadline , it looks to me , we are heading for the worst squad since the late 70s .

Also , unless there are teams with point deductions , we will be as good as relegated by November ..

Sheffield Wednesday and Hull might rival us if their transfer bans hold up.Β  All 3 of the promoted teams look strong this season, and the other teams from low down the table last season like Oxford, PNE & Derby have strengthened too

Have they reached the β€˜he’s shit anyway’ stage yet??

Amazing isn't it how people are so easily swayed to hate on a player when we all know the club is about as functional as a chocolate teapot.

Quick get the snake inflatables out again.

Difference Smodizs went to a prem club not a team who had a lower position last season. VI should have a chat with Callum.

There is no difference. You shouldn’t refuse to play for the club paying your wages and with whom you’re under contract.Β

Brittain along with Tronstad was one of our best players last season and important one but Brittain good going forward had some defensive lapses....still one of the best players on his day in the division.

The club could tell him to play but all the talk of Callums head turned do we not seriously think the clubs head is turned even further at the prospect of another 3 million sale and 10k a week OFF the payroll ?

Get out, we’d all do the same. He’s a professional footballer in a short career, if he can earn significantly more money at another club I’d push for it too.Β

If your are not an intended seller then you play him as part of your pre-season routine. If it was a league game or a big cup tie I'd worry about his 'head', but not a 45 minute kick around in the sun at Stanley.

Szmodics did exactly the same.Β
Β

We’ll see if it’s true later

We actively wanted to sell Szmodics. We were just trying to get the fee to what we thought was acceptable, but the player and the club knew that ultimately he would be leaving.

Difference with Brittain is we are told we are actively trying to keep him.

Complete bollocks. He’s under contract. Lots of players don’t refuse to play.Β

On a wider point you can never complain again about players shitting on fans if that is your attitude.Β
