So they are persistently interested in a player with fitness concerns because they think they'll fill another place in the squad as cheap as possible.

Pay as you play must sound ever so appealing.

If Baradji was coming in we'd need an absolute minimum 3 imo,Β  him plus a decent RW and another striker.

I don't get this situation. He's either injured and therefore can't/shouldn't play or he's actually fit to play.

Rumours were the medical flagged up a stress fracture in his foot? There must be treatment for this type of injury, even if it's just rest and therefore we can decide if he'd be worth signing or not.

What I read was that stress fractures take about 6 weeks to heal, no idea if true….but as he played yesterday it seems he’s fit. So I don’t get it either.Β
Β

Pay as play on the transfer fee makes little sense from the selling clubs perspective.Β
Β

Pay as you play on the wages makes little sense for the player. Unless it’s a heavily incentivised so he gets a lot more if he does play regularly.Β
Β

Have any of the Noxon followers asked him to clarify what he means?Β

I just dont understand this. The player seemed an interesting one, seems to have really emerged in the last year and was linked to some big clubs, a potential midfield powerhouse.

But youve got the massive red flag of this ongoing medical issue. Even if you renegotiate the terms, its still surely too much of a risk?

But my main issue is again, if we only have the capability to get 2 or 3 more in, this type of player is surely well down the list of priorities.

And now that 2 or 3 seems to have reverted to 2 more signings, although it is again more ambigious reporting by Elliott Jackson.

It was 3 or 4 the other day RW, AM, CM and CB.Β

Got a link to the story?

It came as quite a shock to see that you have reacted negatively to a potential signing.

Agreed.

Can't see why either the selling Club or the player would agree to it and reduce their demands.

Either he's fit in which case there's no issue or he isn't in which case you either take a slight gamble on his fitness now to beat off other interest in the player and secure his services or cut out the financial risk by waiting until he's fit and there's no issue.

It doesn't come as a shock to note that when you sporadically post you have nothing positive to say about this forum.

Thanks for the constructive reply.

I said that the player individually is interesting and linked to some big clubs.

Can you tell me which part of my post you disagree with or does being on negativity patrol not allow for actual debate?

The club never learns. They'll always do the absolute bare minimum in terms of recruitment, sometimes less.

Come December these players will be dead on their feet ahead of another disastrous January window. The cycle continues.

Jackson doesn’t have a clue tbf. I’ve read the story and it says β€˜2 including an attacking midfielder’ which in itself is ambiguous. Does he mean an AMC or RW etc etc?Β

VI may have put them in a bit of a spin by saying he didn't like loans.

They might have been banking on doing the usual random pick and mix selection of 4-5 loanees at the last minute depending on who was left on the shelf.

I can't understand your first point.Β  Can I suggest before you fire off post after post, you sense check what you have written so folk may be able to understand!

As to point two, how do you know there have been no new bids "since Boro bid over 2 weeks ago" -Β  if my information is correct and I believe it is, you are plain wrong.

A quick Google suggests that a stress fracture can be caused by repetitive actions. Can only assume that this might end up being a reoccurring injury that he picks up, even if he let's it heal completely. Perhaps some athletes are just prone to it more than others, I dunno.Β

You would think though, that either modern sports science would be able to monitor it well enough or adjust his training to reduce the chances of it reoccurring.Β

All speculation on my part but it still feels like we'd be able to make an informed decision as to whether it's worth the risk or not. The fact we are allegedly going back with a pay as you play deal suggests the risk is significant enough that it's not worth pursuing the deal.

Just enough time whilst out and about to conviently pop on and post that but not add anything constructive in the way of discussion.

His articles are often very difficult to read. Lots of ambiguity to cover all bases, grammatical errors etc.

Think there is considerable 'pitch rolling' from both Rovers and Jackson about the number of signings to come.

Ismael said 2 or 3 and now Jackson saying 2.

Many fans think even 3 is at least 2 short of what we require, however, some gullible fans will buy into all the bulls1t from Rovers and Jackson and convince themselves, and try to convince others, that 2 or 3 will be enough.Β

Just read that.Β Β

"Rovers remain in dialogue with Yverdon about the deal but no timeframe has been offered as to when progress might be made. The club still want to add two signings before the end of the transfer window, including signing an attacking midfielder."

Sounds like we are now down to just an AM plus either a cb or rw.Β  The number decreases by the week.Β

They must have been reading this board and decided the squad has improved so no need for more.Β

It would be a huge risk not signing a centre back, so we must be looking for another. We only have Hedges for RW, which isn't nearly enough, so there's 2.Β

Not sure if Baradji can play as a winger, I'm sure I read somewhere that he had played RW before.Β

I'm hoping it's 2 permanent and then possibly a couple of loans. I suspect a CB will be a loan.

It looks like he's played there before, but he's primarily a DM.Β

We desperately need a specialist RW. It's the glaring hole in the starting XI.

He apparently has, but looking at hm, I cannot imagine he plays RW as a winger.Β  He looks like someone who will move inside when we are in possession to make a 2nd "10" (or maybe a box to box midfielder) alongside Cantwell, allowing the right back to overlap, but is able to help out defensively on the right when we are not in possession

I would wonder if we are down to 2, would Baradji be competition/cover for both AM & RW, and a CB is also still being sought after

I think we'll see 2 permanent and 2 loans despite the manager seemingly being against loans. Then I'd hope we replace any major departures although how good these would be is anyones guess.
