I mean, I dont get why whether a young striker who has been continiously injured for years and who hasnt even been under first consideration is loaned out or not, affects whether we should sign someone to improve the first team. But there you go.

Always seemed Baradji would be the Trav replacement, is Browne a Tronstad replacement? Not sure but this would actually be a very good signing + has plenty of champ experience

We loaned out Travis and Buckley a few years ago so we could bring in new players.

The budget really is that tight under these billionaire owners.

Not taking that much notice but I thought I saw Ismael quoted on Wednesday as saying two more signings was the objective.

We are reaching the point where PL clubs finalise their squads and decide which players they are loaning out.

Browne on loan, I think would be an astute signing. Spend the money on a striker.
Could see Ellie Youan from Hibs in a panic, last minute signing

Surely Browne will be wanting more money than we will be offering and would he come here after all those years at Preston

Other Championship clubs will be in for him and I'd say Sunderland would be preferring to move him out permanently rather than loaning him.I don't see that one happening would be a good signing though

Here’s my take…we’re probably now having lots of conversations with lots of agents and clubs as the demand rises.

Any that are reported other than LT, or from the actual source (Think Elliot but in the source country / region) are likely agents or clubs trying to drum up interest. I’m not saying we won’t have had a conversation about Browne, he may have been offered to us but it’s more likely he wants to come back to the North west and his agent is using Nicko apply some pressure on his former employers…

Rovers, as we have seen will be keeping their cards VERY close to their chest because they know they can’t get into a Willy wagging contest with anyone on fees or wages!

I’m expecting replacements in the squad for all leavers. I think those will be Pears, and Leonard. So, that’s a new Keeper, Striker and Midfielder (for Buckley). In the event that Hyam is sold, I think we may ‘stick’ until January and work with Carter, Miller, McLoughlin and Wharton.

Interesting few days ahead!

That only works if the selling club doesnt want others to know the player is available.

Why wouldn’t they want to drum up interest to increase the price?

The Browne link just seems like Nixon being mischievous.

He's not as daft as he looks, he knows that would wind Preston fans up so he's thrown the grenade and ran. It gets people talking, it makes him relevant.....

Sounds like you wouldn’t be too unhappy with “ a run of bad results “ ?

Not really, it would make my wife very gloomy.

What I was tryng to suggest is that the trinity are on to a good thing and can spin it either way. So, if we do well under the new model, then cost reduction justified. If we don't, then they have ready made excuses.

I'm beginning to see JBiz's point (on another thread) re the conundrum of the best way to get rid of the Venkys.

Soumano isn't happening at £5m, not sure why he's desperately trying to push that it might. He was like this with Kapaudi, even carrying on for a good week after we had signed McLoughlin when it was clear he was the alternative.

Didn't have a clue with Morishita, was still trying to push Afolayan was an option yesterday.

As for Browne, they aren't signing a 30 year old for any kind of cash, and Sunderland will no doubt want ris of him permanently with who they have bought in.

100% the next few days will be the same agents firing names of their players out and journalists linking them to clubs who might need to fill that position

Surely even we wouldnt be stupid to allow Hyam, a crucial player to go.

And then stick just with Miller who is a right back so will be also needed there, Carter who is made of glass, Wharton just back from very serious injury and then just McLoughlin.

Think he said Rovers bid is around 2/2.5m which appear to the higher.

Im sure they are other offers out there

There’s a way to turn ad’s off ????

Never seen them before but now they're there constantly. Understand the need for revenue but highly irritating and as said new to me. Hope they go away.

Hyam won’t be leaving this window

I don’t think we target players or clubs who do that. I don’t know for sure….just looking at the way our transfers seem to pan out.

It’s just a hunch and not aligned with what the club or manager has said. I just feel someone will come and test our resolve for him. Plays every game, very consistent, just called up for Scotland….
