Maybe a slight exaggeration but Montgomery will never make it, Tavares has been good awful so far too, thinks he can walk through a championship game. Have you seen much from either?

I don’t rate forshaw at all but at least towards the end of last season he’d come on and help us hold a lead. I wouldn’t dare bring either of the other two on to preserve a one goal lead.

Montgomery fair enough to a degree, still young and barely seen him in the position though. But Tavares looks better than Forshaw to me.

There is no chance in today's football to get a proven striker for this level for 2 million, they will all be a gamble. Modern football with just one striker has limited the pool significantly as it also puts higher demand of the attributes to fill the role.

Another aspect is that the extended European competitions has caused an influx of more money to sub-par leagues which has increased the transfer sums and especially for strikers.

Gudjonsons profile is very similar to Aune Heggebøe, who WBA picked up for 5+ mill this summer. He's a 24 year-old striker with a 1 in 3 goal ratio including spells in the second tier in Norway.

Judging by the top scorer table in the Championship last season, finding a 20 goal striker looks pretty grim:

- Not a single player scored 20+

- Only 2 strikers hit 15 or more (Piroe and Sargent, both expensive transfers when bought)

Emil Riis and Windass both available for free should have tried for them imo. Riis not doing too bad at Bristol city

Derby have announce a new change to Derby Rovers given the amount of former Rovers players they are signing 🤣🤣🤣

That would be Nyambe, Sanderson, Batth, Travis, Beck, Weimann and now BBD. that 7's players

The derby obsession stuff is extremely strange. They don’t care about us but because they took our manager and Eustace wanted to sign players who did well for him it’s a massive rival now. Tinpot and makes us look an odd bunch. I would prefer the spotlight to be on the owners + Suhail.

Oh well if he's as good as two players I've never heard of he must be a 50 million quid player like they say. Glad he's doing well there, hopefully he's finally ready to kick on with us in January or the summer. We've been waiting long enough, and had what, 3 managers in his time who didn't fancy him?

We paid 500k for him for a reason, has to be a player in there.

I live in yorkshire now and the lad delivering our tesco shop friday night spotted my lad was wearing rovers shorts

He was a donny fan and was raving about him saying how good he is

With every signing derby make I dread the 150th anniversary game even more.

My word.

It could be a very toxic atmosphere , doubt the owners are looking forward to the fixture , I wonder if Suhail & RG will go AWOL on that day ?

Is the game on SKY ?

I’ve seen nothing from Tavares. Strolls around like a player who thinks he has it all yet cost us the game against Birmingham, was diabolical yesterday (I’d have taken him off regardless of how many men we had). Was okay against Hull when most others excelled around him. His best performance was a 6/10 against Bradford…it’s a fairly moot point anyways, him and Forshaw are both shite.

Why would they? They’ll love this, whole game throwing abuse at a man who did fairly good things here who left because he didn’t believe in the direction of the club while them 2 sit in the stands laughing their heads off

You won't be laughing when they batter us during the 150th anniversary "celebrations".

Also quit with the Derby Rovers nonsense, it's unbelievably childish and completely ignores the reasons why Eustace and half our squad wanted to move there.

and what happens if we Beat Derby Rover sorry Derby County?

I mean six out of the seven weren't even Rovers players when Derby signed them, but that doesn't suit the somewhat unamusing narrative or the idea that somehow Eustace is trying to shaft us etc.

doesn't matter when they signed from here,

never said Eustace is trying to shaft us did I?

Brereton would be a great signing for Derby. No point pretending he wouldnt be our best winger.

Whether the Derby Rovers stuff is petulant and bitter or not is one thing. Its just not very funny.

BBD is a winger now?

Its a bit of fun tbh, but that 7 ex Rovers there now.

Eustace, obviously. And probably some players, especially Travis.

Rather than the cretins that own and run us into the ground.

How do you know we are looking to sign a couple? Ismael didnt sound sure about that yesterday.

Of course it's relevant. We had first option to keep all seven and for one reason or another we chose not to. Where they end up after that is irrelevant and none of our business anyway  but I really can't see what everyone's beef is when six out of the seven players you listed weren't even our players when Eustace signed them.

If we've started picking up points and beat Derby, I'll hold my hand up and say I was wrong, it's not complicated.

However, if we consider that I think most of us would have said Derby's squad last season was worse than ours, and they have taken a significant portion of our squad and added to it whilst we've cut the budget on ours dramatically, you'd be hard pressed to argue we've had the better window. If either of the squads is likely to gel and kick on in the next 2 weeks I wouldn't be putting money on Rovers.

Had this exact thought all day. Could get ugly.

Wouldn’t blame Eustace for milking it if he won but I doubt he will because he has class. We will most likely get battered and we will look embarrassing as all the inflatable snakes are deflated after derby net the 5th goal

Our fans will be too busy waving inflatable snakes, to focus their ire on the real villains of Pasha/Venky’s.

Those snakes is probably one of the most embarrassing moments in this clubs history...There are still idiots saying it now to Trav.

Why does booing the opposition during a match need to be taken as fans not caring about the mess behind the scenes?

FWIW, Eustace abandoned us mid season for relegation candidates. He’s a good manager and did well but he could have at least seen the season out. Doesn’t need to get personal, but for 90 mins, I hope we get right into him/them.

If fans can’t taunt opponents because abuse should only ever be aimed at the owners, what’s the point of going every week? Is booing Burnley allowed?

No not to my point. There is 7 ex Rovers there now. That my point, 6 of them signed there for Eustace.

Can we do it to the hierarchy every week then?
