Leaving aside everything we know of the last 15 years, the absence of any interest/desire of the owners, the revolving door of nonentities in the C-suite, the parade of managers, the most notable feature of the window for me is the number of established players who wanted to go elsewhere. The Lemon Drizzle club atmosphere is now clearly a thing of the past (it’s demise being initiated by a demanding JDT)

I am perhaps in a small minority in not seeing the loss of Dom Fucking Hyam as a catastrophe (or at least as a bigger one than anything that preceded it). The Preston og, the shrinking violet needing his dad alongside him, the Turf Moor 0-3 pussy, the “calm down”. I’ll not miss him no matter who has to fill in for him.

Oh come on. I dont like him or particularly rate him but you're surely not going to defend the decision to replace him in the last few hours of the window without any sort of replacement, let alone a comparable one.

You've been watching football long enough to know better than that.

Far as I see it, we are now woefully short in:

Goal - Pears is here but seemingly won't play any time soon, so if anything happens to Toth (injury, loss of form) we are probably relying on Michalski, who is enormously inexperienced and in his one showing so far, quite frankly looked shocking.

CB - McLoughlin (banned next game), Wharton (just recently back off a huge injury layoff, and has had injury problems before), Carter (also injury prone) and after that we are relying on players who aren't CBs (Miller possibly an exception but I believe hasn't played there tons) to fill in.

Wings - Hedges (shit despite a great game lately, seen enough), Kargbo (fast and can cause problems, still having end product issues), Morishita (could be a good one), De Neve (really a wingback and works hard but doesn't create much). After that you're wedging in players who don't really play there. Arguably wing isn't too horrendous if Kargbo and De Neve can come good, but there's a lot of scepticism about that.

Striker - nobody proven to be able to score even 10+ goals at this level.

I mean you could even argue CM is lacking enough quality, unless Tavares steps it up and Baradji comes back from injury and is a beast.

Possibly I'm feeling too down about things after the disgraceful sale of our main CB on deadline day with no replacement, and some of these players could come good and assuage these concerns, but there is a lot to be anxious of.

There does seem to be a lot of uproar from the same people who've been calling Travis, Britain and Hyam 3 of the "rubber dinghy men " for the last couple of seasons.

There's no doubt some on here rate them a lot higher since we sold them. 🤔

Always had a season ticket for years and supported the club since I was a toddler, my lads six and has never been to the ground and never will be going while Venkys are here, not putting him through the pain of this team. Hopefully he becomes a Liverpool fan like his other side

Travis, Brittain, JRC, Leonard, Buckley, Dolan, Batth (English) and Hyam (Scottish).

Weimann the only non-British sale from the squad.

It’s timing though. Selling an ever-present CB in the last hour with no replacement is just shocking management from the board - regardless on thoughts of Hyams ability / leadership

In one transfer window we've sold or let go:

Our player of the year

Our club captain

Our vice captain

Our top scorer

Our 2nd top scorer

Our main CB

EXCITING SUMMER 🤯

Slight correction - Ohashi was our top scorer. We've let our two joint 2nd top scorers leave.

It really is stark when you spell it out like that though, yeesh

Lost for words this evening. Thought we had seen it all. Not any of the new lads fault, but we are down this season. That squad is frightening. This time I do not think we come back - who would have thought the days under TM would be as good as it got.

Just numb.

That ‘Privy’ account has lost its marbles at Josh 🤣

Way back when, Lynsey Talbot used to be John Williams' PA. If it's her as has been suggested on here, she should know a lot better frankly.

It does illustrate the sordid depths the Club has sunk to though, whether or not the comment was said partly in jest.

Absolute disgrace.. Hyam was the difference between survival and relegation. We’ve sold him and not even replaced him? Absolute shambolic but it doesn’t surprise me unfortunately

Top and bottom of it is, we've got enough players, it's just whether the new players prove good enough.

They'll live or die by the results.

Do you think Ismael will be happy?

I think he will overall happy but not happy about Hyam going without being replacing him

Ismael wanted to change 6 or 7, we will have signed 10 and still are short in certain areas.

In a recent interview, he said they changed more of the squad and more of an overhaul of the squad.

Only short at centre back for me.

He wanted to keep Travis/Hyam/Batth/Brittain/Weimann/Dolan and hasnt kept any.

Didnt want loans and now weve resorted to 2 including one on deadline day scrambling around for bodies.

Baradji's loan is more of case of him proving himself. Smart move and wise.

TGH is loan to buy. Maybe replacing Tronstad next season.

You.and others wanted Rovers to sell players in the last 12 months of their contract like Rothwell, BBD. So we have done that with Brittain, Travis and Hyam.

my biggest issue with selling Hyam is no replacement for him. If we spent 2m on replacing him then I would be still disappointed selling Hyam so late in the window but at least we would have a proper replacement

Why wouldn't I? You losing key player and best CB without replacing him

And in the case of goal and CB, whether their bodies hold up. You'd hope we'd be ok with Toth, but we are running a serious tightrope by having 2 of our 4 CBs be injury prone (and one not really a CB).

Im sure you're deliberately missing the point just to be argumentative.

There'd have been no issue whatsoever selling Hyam earlier in the window and replacing him with similar or better.

To sell him in the last few hours of the window with no replacement whatsoever is suicidal.

Transfer windows used to be exciting. Say goodbye to those days, there won’t be anymore under Venkys.

But not all at once, and not allowing this ridiculous amount of them to run down all at once either so there is insane turnover. And certainly not without replacing them all.

I just can't see us surviving this season. This has to be one of the worst transfer windows ever. How can they be so irresponsible and gamble the clubs existence like that. These fuckers are in it for themselves and their pay checks / bonuses and back handed agent deals.

We will go down and we won't come back up again under this ownership.  It will take a miracle to avoid relegation as things stand.

We have excelled at receiving good fees for our players this summer! Wrexham are overpaying for a mediocre defender and if we had replaced him then it would have been no big deal. Instead we are now just really low on defensive numbers. It’s week 3 of the season and Wharton is the only available true centre back at Watford and he missed all of last season with injury. If any decision highlights where the owners/boards priorities lie then it’s this. Cash in and jeopardise the clubs chances on the pitch or protect the squad at all costs. Maybe we have a good freebie lined up, but I think we all know that won’t happen. The only positive I can see is that there is literally nobody else to sell and maybe that means the owners will sell up after a colossal summer asset strip. Probably wishful thinking.

‘Recent Rovers 11’:

                                Kaminski

Brittain.             Hyam.         Batth             Beck

                         Travis.        Wharton A

Dolan.                     Szmodics.             Brereton Diaz

                                Gallagher

How many of those don’t get into our current starting line up?

The idea that clearing out the decks was necessary after comfortably finishing 7th or 8th in 3 of the last 4 seasons is very odd to me. I don't understand the idea that we needed an "overhaul" when we finished 7th last season, barely missing out on the playoffs.

You keep your core players and build around them. You identify areas in the first 11 that can be improved and sign players who should be able to push the team on. It's what we haven't done well enough over the past five or six years. We've mostly just signed players who have kept us at the same level, or more recently had managers able to squeeze as much as possible out of an increasingly limited squad.

You don't sell all of your Championship experience and replace it with mostly cheap gambles from lesser leagues. That's a plan which has a miniscule chance of actually being successful. Selling a first team centre back with no replacement, even worse.

I understand people want to have hope, but I can't see this transfer window as anything other than a catastrophe.
