Old Rover Posted Thursday at 15:47 Posted Thursday at 15:47 Just been reading about Sheffield Wednesday, on 20th December 2024 with no notice their early bird season tickets went on sale and they had until 4th January 2025 to buy before the prices went up. The cheapest ticket was £460 but the rest at least £570. Currently in their South stand it is £701 for a season ticket. Some of their games this season the cheapest matchday price is £45. One of their stands has now been shut down through lack of upkeep. 17 players have left this summer, no arrivals. . Their owner is probably worse than ours ......... just. Quote

They were a struggling Championship club when he turned up 10 years ago and still are. We were a top 10 Premier League club when our lot took over and look where we are now. Granted they are having all sorts of issues at the moment but I expect they will be rid of him and under better ownership in the not-too-distant future whilst our owners continue to leave us to decay. 8 Quote
Mattyblue Posted Thursday at 16:25 Posted Thursday at 16:25 Terrible owner = but they’ll go in the short to medium term. Proper football club like that will recover, perhaps strongly. Terrible owner = They won’t go and they are happy to see the club further and further ‘cut its cloth’ until all’s left is a raggy piece of string. Quote

Ossydave Posted yesterday at 04:41 Posted yesterday at 04:41 Not sure if already mentioned but Brum have, unsurprisingly, sold their initial allocation so will have over 7k at Ewood now they've been given more. Combined with sparsely populated home ends the noise will be quite horrific with THAT accent bellowing out 🥲 Quote
Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 05:26 Posted yesterday at 05:26 Another club with momentum and the fans just can’t get enough of it. Nobody is interested in buying us though, we’d be the next Bury Morecambe. 6 Quote
Popular Post MarkBRFC Posted yesterday at 07:08 Popular Post Posted yesterday at 07:08 (edited) Bradford have sold over 16k season tickets. Cheap tickets dont work though, or something. Edited yesterday at 07:09 by MarkBRFC 12 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted yesterday at 07:19 Posted yesterday at 07:19 Brum are on a roll cue the usual derogatory chants from clowns who've never been out of New Street before. Never mind the bods upstairs at Ewood will be delighted and have a line already to spin back to India 'look a 20k crowd' !!! For the record not long ago Brum were averaging about 16k and regularly used to bring sub 2k to Ewood - In the Prem. 4 Quote

I've been down here for over a decade now and once upon a time you could easily walk up as an everyman and buy a season ticket, and unless it was vs. Villa or had a lot riding on it you could easily get individual match tickets too. How times change! 2 Quote

Why would they be good? We haven't seen our new assembled team play yet. I watched them against Everton, and there were promising signs. If they get the results it might up the st sales. 1 Quote

They had zero interest in utilising it for anything productive. Maybe they've an anniversary for the 26/27 season lined up, the tea ladies 40th anniversary. Get your shirts while there going. Quote

We're always told if the Venkys went we'd be like Derby, Coventry, Birmingham, Bolton etc. All those teams now rid of shite owners, had to suffer for a couple of years, now fan base completely galvanised, sold out stadiums every week and three of those four in the same division as us and will definitely finish above us this season (Bolton will be back imminently as well). Sheffield Wednesday will be the next one to go through the mess, get rid of the owner and eventually bounce back stronger. Reading as well probably soon. We're the only ones who have not been able to get rid of the ownership shackles, it feels like we're the butt of the joke. 3 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago When powers that be are terrified of losing grip to someone else, who might make a better job of it and expose the cack handed and possibly dodgy running of it they have been making for years, what do they do ? They always use fear spread by whatever means necessary. The willingly gullible always lap it up. 2 Quote
