I won’t post it here for reasons of decorum and taste but I wonder what the Dingles fans feel about their kit.

Hardly any blue and no claret either, closer to purple.

I have posted a picture of it on the Premier League thread.

Bollocks to decorum and taste - it's that lot. 😂😂

The sponsor with one number in blue & one in white is interesting 😆

Lol

They originally played in green and I think they deliberately copied the famous Aston Villa kit-much the same way as Leeds copied Real Madrid's...

Here's to them copying Coventry's 1980 away kit...( if you know, you know..)

It will be officially known as Diarrhoea Brown if they use it. 😂

Our third kit is out and available from tomorrow. From the teaser it looks like it could be dark green.

The promotional material looks like it has been filmed in a toilet going off the tile effect. That's about right for this lot.

As a proud Blackburnian of nearly 40 years I have to admit….

I have no idea where those tiles are!

and if Blackburn is famous for those tiles then it’s gone completely over my head.

They look like pub tiles from back in the day ..maybe to signify the St. Leger Hotel where John Lewis and Arthur Constantine met in the forming of the club ...or possibly just picking out the green from this past badge ?

Has anyone actually been able to locate the exact spot of St Legers?

I believe it was corner of King Street/Lord Street/higher Church Street thereabouts.

You'd think there ought to be a plaque there atleast

And they've got the fictional Maltese cross in the heading.

Obviously too much effort to do some actual research and see whether this was really used.

And don't post another link to that football shirt site again, their information comes from one source and that is not a primary one.

So you're saying the Maltese cross isn't part of our heritage?

That's absolutely banter from the club if they have it wrong

It's mentioned in some places, no sources from the time corroborate that the white shirt with Maltese cross was ever worn.

It may have been suggested at the initial meeting for the formation of the club (the date of which is up for some debate anyway) but there is no report that it was ever actually worn. There is no photographic evidence that I've seen to suggest that a Maltese cross was ever worn on the shirt. It's also worth bearing in mind that back then, if a player played for England they could wear the England crest on their club shirt.

There was a company in Waterside who made tiles (I'm sure I read they have recently closed) but they certainly aren't synonymous with Rovers or the town. I think it's about the colour of them - all will be revealed at 9 am. 😂

Was that the one that resembled a number 2?

I’ve always understood it to be where the Nat West Bank stands now

So when it says corner of King William Street and Lord Street are we talking roughly next door to where McDonalds currently stands?

I always had it in my head that it was on the corner opposite the old Apollo cinema/Town hall, just down from the museum.
