If you look at the good run at the end of the season, Gueye never got more than 20 minutes in any of those games. He might want workrate and pressing, but it completely neuters you when your CF doesn't win headers, hold the ball up or run in behind. We can't pass through everyone. Edit: Hedge is also a high work rate, pressing player - but he's shit at scoring or creating goals. Edited 8 hours ago by Exiled_Rover 1 Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I know Everton are a week behind us in terms of preparation but that's not at all what I was expecting. In a good way. 1 Quote

For the new lad not to be even on the bench when not injured tells its own story. Good half though, front 4 have all worked really well and pressed well, lovely goal too. I'll let you know when I've seen the new lad play. I like Brittain, but he's not a quick FB - nor is he a great defender. He gets exposed at times. Maybe the new lad offers us a different option? 1 Quote

Exiled_Rover Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Whisper it quietly, but Toth looks like a competent GK. 6 Quote

Gueye, Kargbo, Pickering, Tyjon, GK (whatever he's called), CB, someone for Hedges (double barrel named lad maybe?) - which is 7. Edit - Montgomery. 8. Edited 8 hours ago by Exiled_Rover Quote

Thing is with any GK though, is that they need a run of games to get their match sharpness, work out how the CBs play, etc. That Pears was still awful 8 times out of 10, despite being made first choice for a couple of years, speaks volumes about his (lack of basic) competence. Toth looks decent, he'll do well for us this season hopefully. 2 Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Kargbo is an absolute beast! Never seen a lad as quick! 1 Quote
