Looks like I'm in the minority but didn't really think Alebiosu was all that great tbh.

McLoughlin the only new signing that looks anywhere near and guess what, he's the only one with Championship experience.

After that, I'm more worried about the players who were already here.

Toth got away with 2 howlers, Hedges might as well have not bothered and as for the midfield 2,definitely could do better. Travis went to sleep so often he'll never get over tonight.

Really frustrating performance and result. We wouldn't have scored had we played all night, even against 10. Created nothing of note. West Brom were far superior for half an hour then sat in seemingly comfortable with us passing it side to side. If Ismael's style is just really slow, laborious passing from side to side at testimonial pace not creating chances then I am not a fan.

One of the first things to point out, I mentioned the other day that we need a new set piece taker. Our set pieces and deliveries in general across the team were absolutely diabolical.

Ryan Hedges deserves a mention in particular too. On what planet was renewing his contract the correct decision? He offers absolutely nothing whatsoever. As a starter, as a squad player, zilch.

New signing wise. I liked McLoughlin, calm on the ball and sound defensively. Alebiosu is really quick but looks raw, quite liked him though. Miller looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet and quite sluggish, a non entity in attack bar the throw in. Hendriksson was totally anonymous bar a few stupid fouls. De Neve, I cant see what type of player he is or what he offers as of yet. Tavares didnt have enough time but made a couple of strange decisions.

Seems like we are going to lose more key players. Replacing with players for small fees from inferior leagues seems like a recipe for a long old season for me. We need a lot more than just one attacking player as there arent many goals here as we know.

Last season we would create some chances but could miss them, but today we just looked like we had no ideas.  Dolan, Cantwell or Brittain haven’t always been lorded by many as being great creative options on, but they were clearly missed.

Watching Ismael’s interview he talks about the new players having athleticism, physicality, flexibility etc..,  but ultimately they need to be decent footballers with a decent footballing brain. Otherwise they will just look like Usain Bolt does at Soccer Aid. Don’t get me wrong, it is  too early to make judgement on the new guys, but take Kargbo. All I see at the moment is pace, yet on its own it is ineffective.

Back to the new guys only McLaughlin impressed me today. Miller should be ok, Alebiosu should have been stronger for the goal and had Amari Bell vibes going forward, De Neve and Henriksson were poor.

If you can’t create anything in open play, then you need to maximise at set pieces. However delivery has been awful for years now. I’m not expecting a MGP or a Charlie Mulgrew, but a decent height and accuracy on a whipped delivery once in a while should be something one of our footballers can do.

Tronstadt was also uncharacteristically poor today also which didn’t help.

"I think we need to add at least one more players, it's obvious which area we need to strengthen"

Not after today!

Hope he means RW (also alludes to Travis leaving "If someone leaves, we will need to replace him, so will depend on the outgoing"

We are screwed haha

Agree, Travis is clearly off, but looked like he was running through quick sand at times. Hedges shouldn’t even be in our squad let alone starting, he just isn’t a footballer

Gueye is 6ft 5in and fucking useless. That leaves Ohashi who will need to score 30 plus to make up for it.

With your thumbs down comments, we're in for a long hard season. WE NEED STRIKERS WHO SCORE GOALS.

How this club has fallen.

I probably should have clarified favourite amongst the current squad. Most of which I couldn’t give a toss if we replaced.

But yeh totally agree obviously with how we’ve fallen. My worry is that there is lower to come

One game doesn't make a season, let's put things right on the training ground, and onwards and upwards.

I would say at least half of those lads out there looked like they were well below championship standard. The squad as a whole lacks creativity and goal scoring ability. Some posters argue for the inclusion of Cantwell but creativity has to come from various channels, not just one individual. We don’t have creativity anywhere. It’s a real worry.

Just bear in mind though that we’re right not to spend cash on players because it doesn’t guarantee success. 😏 Tossers.

It didn’t look like it today. It was all “ hit and hope “.

That would be more than a plan than we deployed. Simply nothing going forward, zero creativity and no chances created. Yuki is far too slow and lack the strength and ability to be a loan striker and Big Mak just doesn’t ever look like scoring goals and yet, we seem to have no plan to add to strikers. If you don’t score goals, we won’t win football matches.

Spending money is no guarantee of success but not spending much money guarantees a decline in fortunes.
