Popular Post Lancaster Rover Posted August 30 Popular Post Posted August 30 I don’t think the ref is the reason we lost, could have easily been 2 down before the penalty and it was a stonewell pen and red. 12 Quote

Three games decided by penalty decisions that all went against us. We dominated Norwich with 10 men, but lost 2-0. Some managers are just unlucky. I think we're going down. Just one of those seasons. Is it unlucky to cast off huge amounts of Championship experience, replace them with cheap punts and then find results aren't going your way? 17 Quote
StHelensRover Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) Norwich are really not a very good team and will be nowhere near the top 6 this season. They were all over the place at the back - we got in several times and we still can't score. I said at HT I'd be stunned if we got anything from that match, having stood through that second half I feel like any other team in the league WOULD have got something from that half with the chances created, even with ten men. That Hull game was a false dawn, because they are also clearly rubbish. Christ I hope we bring in this other striker by Monday, Big Mak was horrendous, I hope we offload him. Well, Gueye was. Early, but the league table is bleak already. 1 in 4 is not good enough. Huge, huge work to do. Yeah and the team we beat were absolutely battered at Bristol today only 4-2 but should have been 8 apparently. Quote
superniko Posted August 30 Posted August 30 We’re certainly going to need Baradji, Morishita and new Striker to hit the ground running as we’ve got about 15 season goals in us in Kargbo, Hedges, Cantwell and Ohashi. Attacking options are dirt, nobody to put the ball in the net. Kargbo and Gueye are not footballers. Gambles that didn’t work, we need to move onto the next ones and stop wasting more games with them 4 Quote
AvRover Posted August 30 Posted August 30 It's been evident this season was going nowhere for some time. At least Hull showed we have some fight and we're capable of winning six pointers. We're on for a weaker season (eg Preston last season) rather than a season with an off chance of the Play Offs. Will it change - not until the ownership changes. Even then, football finance is f****d so it's an uphill battle. Nor do I see an ownership change in the next couple of years. They don't want to sell nor is anyone likely to want to spend over the odds buying a tired club in a deprived region. Quote
miqaayil Posted August 30 Posted August 30 just 1 word "SAD" the state of affairs , the way we are run , the owners and the attendance numbers .... just "SAD" 6 Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted August 30 Posted August 30 If we'd of had 11, we may of scraped a point. Sooner Gudjohnsen comes in the better as Gueye needs to be 3rd choice. A lot has poor games but the passing today was some of the worst I've seen in a while. Hard not to be worried but red card and conditions didn't help us...We will definitely be in the mix at the bottom but hopefully these new lads can make a difference. Quote

But I don't think he's a starter, much more effective off the bench. Quote
Bohinen1983 Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Yep, rather play Garrett or a prospect than Tavares, he's a passenger.. Kargbo was dreadful, Tyrhs did nothing but harrass, press and make nuisance, he did nothing today.. Surely he has the attributes to do what Dolan did? Other than Hedges I thought they were all wank to be honest! I thought Cantwell tried hard. Crap! Quote

West Yorks Rover Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Ipswich equalise against Derby in the 106th minute with a pen. Travis got his usual yellow. Quote

The club is being killed by stealth. We've managed to stave it off somehow but the spectre of ending up where Bolton and Wigan are (but worse) has loomed large for years. The business model of football just doesn't care about clubs like ours. We're an inconvenience as much as anything as we take support away from the City, United and Liverpool. 1 Quote

CambridgeRover Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Didn’t pick a good game to come up. Tavares Kargbo did not impress me at all. Sub standard. Thought Wharton looked good when he came on. Makhtar is truly awful. Clownish. Just a bad performance today Quote
Elrovers Posted August 30 Posted August 30 We’re not even playing bad tbh. Slowly we’re gelling. It’s obvious we need goals upfront and hopefully this new Icelandic Donny can provide us with a few. Quote

TugaysMarlboro Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Remarkable we were better with 10 men than 11, we looked organised and more dangerous in the second half. Hedges had a good game, looked hungry throughout , Toth doesn't give me jitters every time he has the ball and Alebiosu looks so far to be the best of our signings this summer. The season before last we couldn't keep a clean sheet, last season we didn't score enough to turn draws into wins. I fear the backline looks weaker and we've not really added much in attack (yet). So there's some work to do over the final days/hours of the window. Poor defending for the second goal just backing off inviting Sargent to strike. Ohashi and Gueye offered very little, mainly because they're offside more often than not. Tavares needs a rocket up his ass, he looks lackadaisical and without the quality to back it up. Quote

Cherry Blue Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Try not to listen to radio lancs or is it radio glen little Quote
Valconite Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Didn’t watch but caught snippets on radio. Team reeks of relegation unless something drastically changes over the international break. Looser mentality setting in with 4 defeats in 5 matches 😬 Really need at least two players before transfer deadline that know how to score and not mess up golden opportunities. Quote
lraC Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Im not too sure that Gueye knows the offside rule. One of them was pure comedy. As a side note, thanks to everyone, who joined in the minutes applause on 70 minutes, for big Mick Jones. There were tears in our household as a result. RIP big fella, the crowd did you proud today. 4 Quote

Maybe a prolonged spell in the pits of League 1 or 2 could be a good thing and rid us of these owners. We've had 10+ years of purgatory in the Championship threatening nothing. At this point another season in the Championship = more Venkys 2 Quote
metalrover Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) Poor game from Tavares & Kargbo. Tavares looked well out of depth in this league. Unbelievable miss from kargbo, how did he miss that one? Gueye kept getting caught offside, no impact, our forwards cant finish, we can't have an impact on games. We were lucky not to have gone down to 9 men, Cantwell's silly outburst after he's already on a yellow. It's gonna be a long hard season Edited August 30 by metalrover Quote
