A lot will say Shearer but he's a Geordie and he'd be on theirs, others maybe Hendry and i'm a big fan of his but he bailed twice when it suited unlike the 4 mentioned. Non players it would be John Lewis, Jack Walker and maybe Bill Fox and John Williams. Managers ? Well certainly Kenny and Souness for me plus possibly Don Mackay but not sure about the other. Howard Kendal, Gordon Lee Quote
chaddyrovers Posted Friday at 11:17 Posted Friday at 11:17 pre Uncle Jack era, the 4 should be Ronnie Clayton, Bryan Douglas, Simon Garner and Bob Compton Since Uncle Jack takeover, Jack Walker, Sir Kenny, Alan Shearer and Tony Parkes 2 1 Quote
LWX Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago It's tough, could even do a third catergory - post Jack too. Tugay, Friedel, Duff, MGP/Jansen Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted 19 hours ago Backroom Posted 19 hours ago Here’s a tricky one: Venkys era Rushmore. I’d say Mulgrew, Graham, Conway, Rhodes? Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago You look at some of the great names of the not so distant past and you ask how the hell did we get to this! Makes me want to weep. 1 Quote

I wouldn't be putting a picture or statue of any player up since Tugay. Players in my time following rovers (since 1992) who I would accept in granite form - Shearer, Freidel, Tugay. Think that's it? Maybe the whole 1995 team as champions as a fresco maybe, but beyond Shearer hard to pick an individual out for chiseling into stone. You have to reserve it for the best of the best. Quote

If you're going 1992 - Tugay then Damien Duff would be you're 4th man surely? Quote

Surely he would be the 4th one?. Not for me. Matt Jansen was absolutely fantastic, but Damien Duff at full flight was genuinely world class. As highlighted by his performances in the 2002 world cup whilst still a Rovers player. Quote

Not against Jansen being on there at all and his important goals shouldn't be overlooked, Damien Duff was just a level above Jansen for me but thats not criticising him at all. Quote

I felt Duff didn't stick around long enough really leaving at 24, but going back and looking through the stats despite injuries managed 180 odd appearances which is more than Shearer. Quality wise he is obviously good enough to be up there. So yes - I could get behind that. Quote
