Going on to say he had had young players like him before who struggled as they missed the bright lights .Said they walked out and looked at each other in disbelief ,thought he was stereotyping and decided to sign elsewhere Fair enough. Suppose it has grown legs a bit if he said that. So Mowbray didnt reject him, but James and his dad rejected us essentially due to Mowbray being an absolute weirdo. How have we got to the stage where people will make and listen to podcasts with footballers dads?! Quote
cesus Posted Saturday at 07:46 Posted Saturday at 07:46 Well we needed players on Thursday, what are our predictions for the first signing? Any first team ready before Hull on the 11th? Quote

davulsukur Posted Saturday at 09:34 Posted Saturday at 09:34 Day 3 of the window being open. I thought we had our targets lined up and ready to go, as we'd done all our prep work? Not even a hint of an incoming. 1 week to get players in before the Hull game. Looking like Big Val is going to be let down, just like all the other managers before him. 4 Quote

We were prepped & ready to go, just the bigger boys (like Oxford apparently) came and ruined our plans by offering more than a half eaten packet of monster munch for our targets Jokes aside, do I correctly remember Oxford struggling through the first half of last season, before splashing a bit of cash on Helik etc in early January and managing to stay up? Edit -yep, Helik was their penultimate January signing, on the 17th of Jan. They also broke their transfer record in an attempt to stay up Edited Saturday at 09:49 by KentExile 2 Quote

Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't a Mowbray choice in the first place so he never really wanted him. Likely wanted that bit of budget to go to one of Honeymans clients...... Quote
KentExile Posted Saturday at 09:58 Posted Saturday at 09:58 O'Riordan is like a new signing https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2026/january/03/ismael--connor-s-ready-to-hit-the-ground-running/ Well, he did stop short (just about) of saying that 1 Quote

KentExile Posted Saturday at 10:20 Posted Saturday at 10:20 (edited) Nixon links us with another player, they must really know they have f'ed up If true, that's another left footed centre back to add to Wharton, McLoughlin, Pratt, and possibly Gibson. Would take him over Gibson though Edited Saturday at 10:21 by KentExile Quote

roversfan99 Posted Saturday at 10:24 Posted Saturday at 10:24 Nixon is just throwing mud and hoping some sticks. He was saying the other day that the Gibson deal was almost done. Cashin is left footed so again wouldnt make much sense. But as long as it makes a story, I am sure nothing will come of it. 5 Quote
roversfan99 Posted Saturday at 10:26 Posted Saturday at 10:26 Birmingham fans arent too fond of him. Quote
JHRover Posted Saturday at 10:36 Posted Saturday at 10:36 So has Rudy ditched the 'no loans' policy he was boasting about now he's realised the squad isn't up to it and there's no money left for permanents? 3 Quote

MarkBRFC Posted Saturday at 11:08 Posted Saturday at 11:08 (edited) Cashin, another small, slow and weak player to add to the list. Think hes moved agency to the same one as Rudy and co so could be something in this. Edited Saturday at 11:08 by MarkBRFC Quote
