Why don't we sell Tavares, Henrikkson and use some of that cash to sign JRC and John Buckley...  Two lads that bled blue and white and actually had a bit of something about them both..

Who is realistically going to sign either of those two jokers for actual money? We'd do well to give them away just to get their salaries off the payroll.

I cannot believe anyone would buy those 2 donkeys !

Just for the nostalgic amongst us, JRC was never fit and Buckley flattered to deceive.  Neither were up to it either.

Yet both represent significant upgrades...

Yeah, in the summer I thought it was a good time for all parties for Buckley and JRC to move on. Both had become stale here and needed to move on for there own careers and we needed some fresh new blood in the side.

Obviously when you bring in Tavares, Henriksson and De Neve, in hindsight keeping Buckley and JRC would have been 100 times better.

The JRC and Buckley money presumably paid for Morashita and Baradji as equivalents

BHA FC covering most of his wages, no option to buy as fee deemed too high.

Sounds about right, and if he's absolutely dogshit we'll still be under a moral obligation to play him.

Im sure he'll be bang up for a relegation scrap.

So much for our principled Head Coach not liking loans then.

"Game time deemed key" - in other words we will play him every game to avoid having to pay whatever penalty clause is included in the deal.

Incidentally: i wonder if O'Riordan has been recalled from loan in order to try and sell him to a L1 or L2 club??

Barnsley very interested in Litherland but probably scuppered (for now) due to his injury.

Don't be surprised if that happens in the summer for a few hundred grand.

yes, absolutely, to the first statement

I don't think so to the second.  O'Riordan will be seen as a cheap back up to Miller on the right side of our back 3

Assuming the Cashin link is true

LCB - Cashin, Pratt - so a shit loan to stifle the development of a promising player we do own

CB - Wharton, McLoughlin

RCB - Miller, O'Riordan, Carter will be also around but not trusted to be available

Litherland injured, assume Atcheson will be sent out on loan once Wharton returns towards the end of January

Cashin is shite and a league one defender at best.

We’re signing him a season too early.

Brighton aren’t known for picking poor players, especially at 9 million a year ago.

win win for the short term.

played 45 mins for the U21s before Christmas, but they have not had any fixtures since then

Chuck the lad in.. definitely something there. I know he's had a few poor loans but I see a bit of Travis in him.

What's happened with Batty?

dropped behind Brandon Powell, (who is also a year younger) in the pecking order

Imagine Batty will be sold in Jan for a low fee with a sell on to a L1 or L2 team.

Was a red hot prospect.. surely better than De Neve?

You said you didnt want Gibson because he is left footed. That was the specific reason you gave.

Also, I am guessing you now agree that we definitely need a wing back on both sides.

I would prefer a right footed centre defender.

The main priority for me, is a quality Striker and some more creativity in midfield

Nixon the other week saying we were keen on Gibson, now saying it’s very unlikely we do a deal? 🤣.

Why on earth anyone still listens to him is beyond me.

Cos you will move him but currently Stoke need him cos both left back are injured, so using Gibson there.

Course you do. Universally not rated by a relegation competitor, allowed to leave their club, brought in at ours and you think he would be decent. I honestly give up.

Does it matter that Birmingham don't play him? not for me

Not as good as Powell, they are probably both better than De Neve

The fact Batty played left wing back most of last season but cant get anywhere near our bench is telling

So why would Cashin be a good signing if he doesnt even fit that criteria? Yet another left footed centre back wouldnt be good purely because he is left footed? Makes no sense.

It doesnt matter if Birmingham dont rate him but it does for example matter if Newcastle fans didnt like Mike Ashley.

You are saying that we could potentially go through half a season in a dogfight with the current "wing back" options we have?

We have numerous priorities. Just because we need a couple of forwards doesnt mean we also dont need 3 or 4 other players as a matter of urgency.

I'm happy enough with how Pratts fit in, very impressed. If we can get an UPGRADE on Mcloughlin I think that would be a good move though.

Off on a slight tangent (sorry).

More pressing is our complete lack of quality in centre midfield and upfront.

I've said it since we had Gallagher doing it- I hate forwards pressing for pressings sake..

I want my strikers spending their energy finding pockets of space, moving intelligently off the ball and linking play.  Our strikers operate as defenders more or less.

Saying that Ohashi, for all his endeavour looks every ounce the fee we paid- which isn't a disrespect to him.  However, his decision making is awful, always takes an extra touch and finishing is generally about a 9/20.

Recruitment: will there be any money available for transfers?

Owners: lol no, we love to drain the club of assets. You can keep five percent of any sales, though.

Recruitment: so what you're saying is that we have to get Cashin first before spending?

Owners: yes

Recruitment: gotcha
