Under contract till 28. And a further years option on his deal.

Yeah I do think we would turn down £4 million for him as he has improvement in him and has been here a few months .

Breaks into the Nigeria 11 more exposure and his price will rise.

Il bet now he will be here when the window shuts.

I wasn’t specifically talking about this January window nor did I say it was a certainty. I also only used Everton as an example as they were credited with a link. However point still stand for me if we receive an offer of 4mill from a prem club whether it be this window or the summer I’m pretty confident here gone.

I wouldn’t let him go for that. He’s got bags of potential and 4 mill from a Premier League club is about the equivalent of their milk bill.

So we are apparently spending £3 million on a forward but we would sell Alebiousu for 4 million when we have him under contract till 2029 if you include the option and he has been here a few short months.

Disagree with you.

It’s rovers

we sold Wharton for 18million When the whole world knew he was worth double at the time

we sold dom hyam who is proven at this level not with just 6 months under his belt on deadline day knowing we have two crocked defenders so excuse my scepticism when it comes to offers and current financial affairs at rovers

Not saying I would sell him for that but I think rovers would

Obviously if he returns here in a week or twos time and continues his form before afcon or improves again then could be a different conversation but he could also maybe decline or regress who knows but I stand by it with the model we ar operating at I don’t think it would take a bid above 4 to get him

1 year experience then you have to consider if they player gets their head turned etc

That's not a surprise. Many years ago he used to be quite good natured when people gave him stick, but he has become increasingly cantankerous in recent years unfortunately. I'd imagine Venkys have made it so that constantly trying to find positivity is a serious strain on his mental resources so he is more on edge.

Its all those right-wingers he hangs with to blame.

Wharton he may have been undersold but it was still 18 million lightyears more than what we would get for Alebiousu now.

He Is in effect contracted until 29 when was the last time they sold a player with that many years on their contract who has the potential to be possibly a 10 million + player for so little

Now if he really did have less than 2 years on his contract like you claimed then I would probably agree they would accept 4 million. But not when we have him tied down

In the summer he will have less than 2 with the years ‘option’

we could debate it all day time will tell but under this new model it’s exactly how it would work buy low sell for profit

you also say he could potentially be a 10mill player that’s a massive statement given he’s played 20 games for us he’s been decent but let’s not go overboard

Out of loop here - would be very helpful if someone can link me to mercer’s info about the club being bid for 👍👍

I didn't think it was Mercer, wasn't it JB talking about Aussies or something?

He is contracted until 2028 isn't he? the years option would take it to 29.How is that less than 2 years?

If Everton and other clubs are apparently looking at him after 'just" 20 games how It inconceivable that he could be a 10 mill player?

Decent age,  English born ,just broke into his national squad

So I go out for a few hours and come back to bizarro land.

Mercer got one and we potentially spent money

noon tomorrow,

Standard rule is always noon on Friday for weekend games, Not sure if the same applies to Friday night games, or if they would need to be registered by Thursday

The rule is noon on the day prior to the match.

I think there are a number of posters who owe Mercer an apology..

He still owes a few of us a nice bottle of red but he did call this one so fair play

So the name Jackson had was the other lad, wonder if that’s the name that others heard and this is an additional one

I watched his debut for Nigeria. He didn’t look out of place in a top class team. Then he got the mystery cut to his leg.
