Mate of mine who's a Doncaster fan says we've had scouts watching some lad called Owen Bailey recently. I know nothing about him other than he's a defensive midfielder.

You have to assume that's for when Tronstad goes if true. 9 goals 2 assists in 27 games is highly prolific for a DM. Not sure if he takes their penalties or something. 7 yellows and a red too.

Has apparently played RB twice this season, in one of those he scored 2. 5 of his 7 league goals were score before September was over. Has also played CM a lot and AM at times according to transfermarkt. In fact only 6 games were at DM they say. And 3 games at CB, which were all quite recently. Just turned 27.

Reading his stats kinda gave me the feeling of a JRC that wasn't constantly injured.

Yes had a quick look there 27 seems highly thought of there at Doncaster (scored tonight) could well be a nice pick up but again for what we need ‘now’ I’m not sure how/why this should be considered

a number 9 should be the sole focus and if there’s room let’s say Ribiero/pickering both go then a lwb

A left wing back is essential, not an if we have room situation. We dont have a player suited/good enough to play that role.

Whereas if we want to play 4231, we are 2 or 3 wingers short.

We aren’t getting both I don’t think and if we are to only get one through the door for me it has to be a striker

but I agree we need both

Currently have 27 players that can be registered, I'll be amazed if someone hasn't left by the end of the window.

If and I know we won't,  we sign Cleary then I don't think he would have to be registered this season due to his age.

I was thinking of the need to raise the readies!

Bailey sounds like a decent signing, though presumably a downgrade on Tronstad.

I still have hopes for Garrett as a DM, he looked so good under JDT but injuries have been an issue for his progress.

Cleary was always a non-starter once the 5 mil tag was set, even prior to injury, but as others say a ready made excuse.

I would hope to bring in two players before deadline, even for us. Striker on a permanent and maybe a wing-back on loan if we can swing a deal like Cashin somewhere.

They're buying players for L1. He would be the next Richie Smallwood.

Wonder how stubborn Ismael will be with the formation he stumbled upon. We can easily play four at the back with Alebiosu given the license to go forward and the left back more defensively oriented like Cashin, Ribeiro or Pickering. Then Cantwell can play from the left, or Jørgensen.

Priority has to be striker.

Desperately need a striker. There’s another L1 striker Rovers should take a look at. 22 yo, 8 goals and 4 assists in 22 matches. Name is Harry L….. wait a minute….

Cool, so that's...2 less goals and 2 more assists than the defensive midfielder we were just talking about that we are apparently looking at.

We were apparently in for Jorgensen in the summer - are we just using the same old list?

Not so sure about cadameteri. He’ll be good for the future there’s no doubt about that, but now we need someone proven which we won’t as is always the case. Seems like we are planning for relegation.

Am I missing something with Cadamateri? Seems to always be linked with moves away but based on what? His stats have never been prolific at any level, granted he's only 20 still. His injury record looks poor. Or is it simply a case of Sheff Weds are skint, who's left to take that can kick a ball?

Cadamarteri leads the line in a poor Sheff W. team. At £1m he's worth a punt imo, and hopefully we can get his goal output ratio up. He's not too dissimilar to Ohashi in that he's a hard-working player that will run all day, but certainly not score all day, but mixed with Gudjohnsen he would probably do well. If he was that highly rated, he would've moved on a long time ago, considering the situation the Owls find themselves in.

We still need players who can contribute with goals now, over to you Rudy.

Cheap

Sheff wed are even more skint than Rovers

There’s clearly no plan - the one they had at the end of December hasn’t worked and they’re going back for players previously of interest.

Well if there is a plan it's fucked if the best we can do is sign Cadamateri, whos essentially slightly younger than Leonard but a less impressive track record....make it make sense.

Isn't that a plan?
