Does the Loan window close today?

yes

Also, at the moment, we have 27 men in our 25 man squad, so cant even sign free transfer out of contract players unless they are under 21

We’ve signed 3 players and two of them are forwards? I appreciate they’re not guaranteed championship goals but that costs big wages and/or fees.

We’ve signed Jogensen a right winger, Dapo a right winger for peanuts who has barely played recently in a lowly tier and barely scored, loan for Cashin who is a centre back.

Not wishing to have a go at you particularly Ricky but why do people keep portraying Ismael as some sort of fall guy?

He knew the script when he came in and no way whatsoever he walked voluntarily, he'll never get a job at this sort of level again.

Read between the lines for once Rev.

VI was obviously frustrated at the lack of signings and quality coming in, same as Eustace, same as JDT and going further back, same as Paul Lambert. He had higher earners sold last summer, Hyam especially we've never recovered from and replaced with cheap dross.

That is why people have VI as another fall guy.

Also the timings of the signings, we signed no attackers for weeks when we had literally one fit who is going through his most barren spell. We had 13 players missing in early January and signed nobody.

Each year somehow proves more and more that we are the least competently run football club in England; even teams in administration are somehow better run than us.

Manager gone in February three years in a row, probably all due to executive incompetence. Squad gutted from top half to relegation fodder in service of "the plan", aka cut some costs for Suhail's bonus.

For the second year in a row we are set to have too many players to register at the end of a transfer window. This time two instead of just one; which on top of our L2 wages means nobody decent will ever want to play or manage us again until Venkys go.

It’s happened the last two managers an played out in the public

He fully knew what he was walking into…of course every manager thinks ‘they will be the guy to change things’

However it cannot come to a surprise to him

didn’t he say after signing Jorgensen that he was happy with the backing he has got and had no issues

luckily for us and not so for him the run of poor form found him out. If he had of snuck a win or two in there would have masks over it and he would still be here with a poor window

he also can out and backed Rudy saying the quality hadn’t decreased not sure how anybody can’t see he was just as complicit as the rest

Both of those players are “forwards”.

I agree with others that they’re likely not what the forward line lacks, I also expected a target man type (someone to replace Gueye) however we have Andri, Yuki, Jorgensen and Dapo. When we play 4 at the back that’s 1 central and two wide, and when we played 5 atb that’s two central.

I agree wholeheartedly that Jorgensen and Dapo aren’t ambitious (especially the later) but I don’t think you can give Valerian an excuse when he refused to play Gueye for months in lieu of a swede who isn’t a striker.

The man was thick. Listen to his analysis and interviews, he never even referenced style or tactics once. This showed on the pitch.

There was never a plan.

Assuming we stick with 4-2-3-1, squad maybe looks something like:

Toth, Pears,

Alebiosu, Miller

Carter, O'Riordan

Cashin, McLoughlan

Pickering, Ribeiro

Tronstad, Forshaw, Tavares

Baradji, Gardner-Hickman, Garrett

Cantwell, Henriksson

Dapo, De Neve, Kargbo

Morishita, Jorgenson

Gudjohnson, Ohashi

Leaving Wharton, Hedges unregistered I would guess; assuming Atcheson, Litherland, Doherty, Montgomery etc don't need registered.

Incidentally, I would happily sell: McLoughlan, Carter, Tavares, Henriksson, De Neve, Kargbo, Cantwell, Montgomery and one of Ribeiro/Pickering

Jorgensen is a "versatile forward"

Dapo mainly plays on the left, is another "versatile forward", he barely played in the Bundesliga, which isn't exactly lowly (not saying he is either a good or an ambitious signing mind)

He was also fired on deadline day?

It’s not hard to join these dots, even if he was bloody useless.

Rinse and repeat pal, rinse and repeat, this now takes the heat off Gestede and his gimp.

Are you sure? We have definitely talked about deal sheets in these threads before, and definitely talked about submitting initial paperwork and then ironing out the fine details later. With respect, I think what you and Jackson are saying is incorrect.

Have a read.

We had to submit paperwork by 19:00 previously, it's in the guidelines haha.

Joining the dots of “he walked because he wasn't going to get his signings” and him leaving today together as fool proof….

but then failing to acknowledge we’ve won 1 in 15…

Sometimes I do wonder Gav…

Think Batty was out of contract in summer so makes sense

did have a years option, but had fallen behind Powell who is a year younger, Pates in the U18s also looks to have some potential, as does Theo Pitt in the U16s who can play full back on either side

Wharton is back in training now

Kargbo is still 2 weeks away

You are right that Atcheson, Litherland, Doherty, Montgomery etc don't need to be registered

Ignore the last 15 years if you can. The running of the club since the last game of last season has been an absolute disaster. It couldn’t have been handled any worse.

These people currently running this club are the pits. Every one of them.

To be honest, although we didn’t sign anyone on deadline day, we may have signed three players by firing the manager. Pickering, and Ribeiro are not bad players. They have had solid games in the past They were made bad players.

I can’t think of anyone that he made better other than chucking in some of the kids and hoping for the best. Pratt started well and then he got binned.
I think the squad will start fighting for their places again, knowing they all have a chance under a new regime

We can, but hope.  A good win against  Wednesday should put us in a good frame of mind for the Norwich game.🤞
