  1. Hi Ozz. Simple question. Does the trust have Access to legal advice? No real reason for asking.
  2. I can’t remember exactly Hoochie bloochie. I do remember the punch though, followed by a short break in proceedings while Baah was picked up, brushed down and told to get over it. No apology from Speedie though. At that point Speedie was coming towards the end of his career, while Baah was 18 years old. That’s why it stuck in my mind. Think about this.... Kenny Dalglish, Hartford, Wegerle if I remamber correctly, and the rest of rovers squad was there training in a public park and there were probably a dozen or so of us watching. How many would have been at Stanley Park if Dalglish had been taking his Liverpool squad for training there?
  3. Speedie flattening Peter Baah with a right hook in a training match! Yep, happy days😀
  4. joeH talks about not being into legacies, but everything that’s happened to this club over the past 30 years has been down to one man. Everything you see now both at Ewood and Brockhall is down to one man. None of it would have happened if it weren’t for Jack Walker. If anyone ever deserved to have his legacy cherished, respected or held in the highest esteem, it’s Jack Walker. He left us a piece of land in a beautiful part of the country. For me, at this moment Brockhall is this clubs Jewel in the crown. It lifts Blackburn Rovers profile way above all the other town teams in this area. It IS a big attraction. and this current mob who know nothing about Blackburn Rovers and it’s history, Blackburn Rovers fans or how respected Jack Walker and his legacies, want to build bloody houses on it. Theyre just a bunch of Johnny - come - lately bastards in my eyes.
  5. I already have done. It’s obvious to me why this is happening. It’s also obvious that any dubious benefit to the playing side of the club can only be short term, while the effects on the Brockhall facility is for ever.
  6. Could it be that Venkys are planning on getting out and grabbing what they can before they do?
  7. It’s really, really hard to get past the view that they’re selling off that land because someone’s seen a lot of available cash - and not because they financially have no other option.
  8. I used to go down to the Pleasington playing fields to watch rovers train when Dalglish and Hartford were taking training. speedie was still at Rovers. That would be 91 or 92.
  9. There’s an assumption by some fans that selling off parts of the beautiful Brockhall training facility for multi millions of pounds, is necessary in order to upgrade the training facilities. So, what happens next time the training facilities need upgrading? Anyone? Its bollocks isn’t it. Total bollocks.
  10. Fair enough, but then I don’t understand why you support the downscaling.
  11. Selling off assets always raises funds JoeH. Selling assets though only takes you in one direction 👇 What will happen to the money raised JoeH? I guess that you have some idea where it will go. IMO, there’s absolutely zero chance that it will be reinvested back into the club in any meaningful long term way.
  12. Cheers Paul. It had to be the land owners who put that covenant on hadn’t it 🙂
  13. I’m not a solicitor, but reading this I believe a covenant can be removed with agreement between the party which imposed the restriction (in this case apparently the Jack Walker Trustees) and the owners of the land (Venkys). What can landowners do to remove restrictive covenants? Many landowners assume that when a restrictive covenant is in place it cannot be removed and they just have to live with it. Fortunately, this is not the case. The first thing to find out is whether or not the covenant is still able to be enforced. If it is not enforceable then an application can be made to the Land Registry to remove the covenant from the deeds. If it is, it may be possible to negotiate with the party that has the benefit of the covenant to remove by entering into a Deed of Release. There will probably have to be some financial recompense for the release of the covenant. https://coodes.co.uk/blog/restrictive-covenants-updating-removing/
  14. What a terrible day to be a rovers fan. Not sure there’s a silver lining on any cloud at the moment.
  15. Under this current regime, we’re heading back to where we were in the 70’s. Lower league football, no training facilities, no money for the first team and no crowds. Brings a bit of realisation to Mowbrays comments this week about us being a long way past a Premier League club. He knows, doesn’t he.
  16. They could develop an elite training facility without selling a huge chunk of it for housing. That’s just bullshit to say otherwise.
  17. So there it is. The club WILL sell off part of Brockhall for housing. Nothings going to change that.
  18. The covenant on the land mentioned earlier in this thread was inserted there by @Paul while he helped out with the trust -I believe. He could be your man.
  19. That’s one impressive lady. Huge respect.
  20. I believe it’s got entangled in red weed. It’s everywhere.
  21. Fantastic. Love this stuff. The science and engineering behind these voyages are mind bending.
  22. Is Waggott strong enough to tell Venkys they have to sack him?
  23. No attempt to protect his own player. It wouldn’t have been difficult. It would have been the decent thing to do.
  24. Website. Currently 302,000 miles away but moving PDQ. https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/
  25. Sorry - just before 9 pm.
