  1. Definitely. Didn't they say last season that this would happen? I remember one or two incidents. Seems to have gone totally off the radar. Diving is so prevalent in the game , particularly the European club competitions and in internationals (certain countries are a disgrace) that I feel something needs to be done sooner rather than later and a few examples need to be made of high profile players who do it. I hate diving in football so much that if one of our players did it in a game like the play off final, I would be disgusted that after everything ,that's how we won such a game. I would probably get over it though in that instance
  2. Big decisions like penalties and offsides need to be got right by the officials. Not sure how, maybe giving a manager 3 calls during a game which they would use to call replay. I don't like the line that "these even themselves out over a season" as I think that's a fob off and bullshit. I mean if a wrong decision happens in the play-off final , I don't see how that will even itself out for the team who were wronged.
  3. Just a turn of phrase. The deal is done.
  4. Did he contradict himself? He said it's about the club , not individuals ,but then went on to say "I" did this or "I" will do that. A slight contradiction perhaps, but lets put the tar and feathers away for now eh
  5. Well for a start, yourself and Simon Garners are attacking him for using the personal pronoun "I".
  6. Why is it that so many fans on here default turn against anyone appointed to positions behind the scenes? It seems regardless of what they do or say, it's attack mode.
  7. Ya, it's very interesting. You would think the absolute freak athletic ability would make him a nightmare to mark. Play to his strengths! If Big Sam was still here...
  8. No, he hasn't looked super quick. He is working under a great manager here, so if he knuckles down there is no reason he can't fulfill the potential it sounds like he has
  9. Thanks Ben. Only joking. Cheers for that. See the problem is the way we currently play requires our striker to hold the ball up really well. Your description of his strengths would suggest he is quick, would that be correct? The fact is he is 19 and will take time to settle. Our fans need to remember that
  10. Was the biggest drop the season after we were relegated from the Premier league? I don't think the tickets have gone up any more than other clubs in that time period, so there are other factors at play
  11. I disagree with the increases, but I just don't think it's the reason people don't go to games. The same thing is happening with football and hurling matches over here , coinciding with Sky getting the rights to show more games. Plus none of the counties have owners, let alone owners like Venkys. So ultimately what it comes down to is the availability of games on TV and online and the fact that a lot of fans have made the decision not to come back whilst the Raos own the club. Even though things have gotten better with stuff behind the scenes and most definitely on the field, I would say a few either want to stick to their guns or are too proud to change their stance. Both of which is their prerogative to do.
  12. How am I belittling it? I said the main issue doesn't come down to pricing, you then jump in with some nonsense that doesn't make sense about Ifollow. I think tickets should be as reasonably priced as possible, but I don't believe a pound or two more on a match ticket or ten or even twenty on a season ticket is responsible for the low attendances. Far more issues at play. If you can afford a match ticket or a season ticket, you are well off enough that a small increase, whilst annoying, will not be something that makes or breaks whether you go
  13. Nasty little troll aren't you? Maybe have a little walk for yourself, you seem a bit overly angry. You don't seem capable of grasping the simple economics of the issue, so I won't waste my time trying.
  14. It does sound overly convoluted as things stand
  15. You said he deserves the chance, with the caveat about his record there. Just seems like an odd discussion point when I am pretty sure he would be the biggest hero since Jack Walker if he managed to mastermind a return to the Premiership from where he found the club.
  16. Arrogance? Odd word to use. He doesn't come across as arrogant to me. Obviously ticket prices would go up from League 1 to the Championship. Did you expect the opposite to happen?
  17. I suspect cost isn't the main reason. The odd £10 game would lead to an increase in attendance, but I bet if the ticket prices were £10 for every game, there wouldn't be a huge jump in attendances long-term They should definitely reduce price for mid week games though, seems a no brainer.
  18. Oh ya, I forgot that. I hope it's not too serious. Last thing we need is him out for months
  19. That boardroom is very grand. Not grand in the Irish sense, but grand in the magnificent and imposing in appearance, size, or style type of way
  20. Great podcast lads. Just got the chance to listen last night
  21. That's really cool
