  1. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jan/24/accrington-stanley-dump-charm-fa-cup-derby-county Accy making the nationals ahead of their FA Cup tie.
  2. Downing is a decent League 1 player. We have 3 better CH's and Williams who is just as good. Two players for every position is the normal mantra. Not sure I see the problem. All we've done is get rid of someone who never plays and won't improve. Thanks Paul and good luck.
  3. Times certainly have changed if a Championship club £120m+ in debt can afford to splurge £6m+ on a pub footballer.
  4. Who would you have like to have seen dropped to accommodate King, 20-goal Rhodes or 20-goal Rudy?
  5. Eh? We've just committed £6m+ to a reserve striker. Nobody knows what our budget is for this window. I'm sure a quality left-back could be sourced for much less than BB cost.
  6. Todd Kane plays for them. I think that's all 92 clubs he's done on loan.
  7. I hope he's playing. He gave us two goals against Reading. Where does it mention his name BTW?
  8. In the last game Evans made something like 6 interceptions and Travis made 3. The worth of Evans and Smallwood is often dismissed, wrongly IMO. They aren't playmakers but you need partnerships on the pitch, which is why the emergence of Travis is so crucial. Travis gets forward more and the likes of Evans or Smallwood can do the defensive bit. Against a team like Hull who appear to attack in numbers, Evans or Smallwood could be crucial. Reed is a different type of player and not really a defensive mid. Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Travis Smallwood/Evans Armstrong Dack Bennett Graham
  9. anyone doing the hull preview?
  10. Pretty sure it was Beckham. He was a bit upset. Which was nice.
  11. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17374409.tony-mowbray-on-likelihood-of-charlie-mulgrew-return-v-hull/ Rehash of story on official site. Mulgrew or Rodwell? Lets have a vote....
  12. It's fine. Think only of the flex.
  13. Does he stand out at that level? Magloire any good?
  14. If there was no advantage to spying then Leeds wouldn't do it. As Mowbray points out, if a manager knows what the other team is working on in training then they have an obvious advantage and can plan accordingly. Just because there are no rules against it, it doesn't make what Leeds did right.
  15. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17362886.rovers-boss-comments-on-leeds-united-spygate-scandal/ https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17372722.rovers-in-support-of-efl-investigation-in-to-spygate/ We're on of the 11 Championship clubs that have complained to the EFL about Bielsabub.
  16. There's a star man running down the line, His name is Adam Armstrong and he's only 4 foot 9
  17. I was on about Rodwell, everyone else is in about Rothwell it seems? I was on about the Rodwell turn on the corner of the Riverside and BBE. I now realise everyone is on about the Rothwell jink between two players on the opposite touchline. It's tough to keep up when we've got liquid football going on everywhere you look. #Brazil70
  18. Terrific bit of skill that. Used both feet as well. He also out-muscled their big No 9 in the same spot. It will be interesting to see how he copes with teams that have quick, skilful attackers. He's given two stupid penalties away against players like that. Hull will be a test for him.
  19. As a team we don't score many goals from open play. Our leading assist maker is Dack with a grand total of 4. After that it's Bennett, Reed and Graham all on 3. Criticising a full back who doesn't get forward an awful lot (on instruction) for lack of assists seems bit odd in that context.
  20. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/january/amazing-rodwell-didnt-put-a-foot-wrong/ High praise for Rodders
  21. Indeed they are. Boro's next 4 league games are Leeds (home) and Sheff Utd, WBA and Rovers (all away) They are 7 points ahead of us. If we do well over the next two or 3 games we could be overtaking them by the time they visit Ewood. Massive month coming up for Rovers.
  22. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17369831.rovers-boss-on-the-possibility-of-new-deal-for-jack-rodwell/ “If he’s not playing enough come the end of the season and wants to do something else then we will take that on the chin. But if he wants to, and we think it’s the right thing for him to stay, then we will offer him a new deal. I think that’s up in the air" - Mogga on Rodwell situation from a couple of days ago.
  23. Harvey Barnes give everyone a torrid time. Probably why Leicester have recalled him. He scored for them yesterday. That lad is a huge talent and lightning quick. Harsh to specifically criticise Bennett for that. As a RB he does a job. Not great by any means but nothing troubled him yesterday and he saved a certain goal by flinging himself in front of that late shot (Raya should have taken control of the initially mix-up because it was him who could see it all happening). It's disingenuous to say it's only recently he's improved his attacking threat. He had a few assists earlier in the season too when he was RM. Bennett would always be one of the first names on the team sheet for me.
