  1. It's pretty nostalgic tbf. For Karate Kid fans mainly.
  2. Cobra Kai S3!!!
  3. Oh, just a wee FYI, Pasha has blocked me on Twitter...
  4. The Dream Team? Bellamy as Manager, Hughes as Assistant 😅
  5. As a Mod, I can only thank the admin and fellow mods. Not only for keeping the site running, but for sharing such a burden with fantastic moral and actual support when we all have our own hectic lives. And thank you K-Hod for lending me Last of Us 😁 Thanks as well to the posters who make me laugh and make me grumble every single day. Honestly, my life would lose just a little something without this community. Happy New Year and COYB!
  6. Fantastic tribute to Brodie Lee by AEW. All the little things they're doing to support the family are great too. Only criticism (and it's incredibly minor) is I'd like to have seen more footage from his Indy days.
  7. Ha, just corrected it 😂
  8. Reliably informed that it was Ian's own favourite goal. My dad shared digs with him as an apprentice, were acquaintances til Ian sadly passed.
  9. C'mon chads, he didn't 'slag you off' there. At worst he satirised the type of thing you do say a LOT. At best, he highlighted a good thing, that you prioritise your family over football. There was a spell where I kept posting my dad's thoughts on here as much as my own, and people took the piss. Try not to get wound up by ribs, but if you do think something is too personally insulting then report it to us 👍
  10. In the context of owners that appointed Coyle instead of Warnock, yes I would. In general, no, I'd prefer Hughes or Ainsworth (as stated), but there are worse appointments we could make.
  11. What a weird comment to make. I just named 3 of the more successful former Rovers that are managers in England, and (as you say) reckon they're realistic. I'd take any of them, but in the order named.
  12. Allow me to pull some names out my arse: Max Allegri? Ralf Rangnick? Marcelino? Luciano Spalletti? Enrique Setién? All superb, superstar managers currently out of work. Is there a CHANCE we could push the boat out? Now for some left-field names a bit more considered. I've tried to focus on managers who've recently improved their teams, but might fancy a jump (or return) to England. David Wagner - vastly improved Schalke in his time there, particularly their defence, albeit with a fair wallet to spend. Christian Gourcuff - as above at Nantes, with an eye for improving youngsters. Julian Stephan - pulling up trees at Rennes last year. Christian Streich - Freiburg. Imanol Alguacil - Real Sociedad (albeit he's only ever managed Sociedad). Marco Rose - At Monchengladbach, has improved each of the 3 teams he's managed so far. Julian Nagelsmann - RB Leipzeig. Don't worry, the drugs are wearing off. Now for former Rovers: Hughes, Ainsworth, Hill. I'd take any if I'm honest.
  13. Conversely, we appointed Hughes on the basis of minimal experience too. Actually, that's triggered a thought. Any interesting international managers to be approached?
  14. The Terry suggestion is interesting, but is potentially an Ince. Personally reckon (of the older guard), Hughes might be the best option. Works well on modest budgets, and has a record of at least initially shoring up defences. Admittedly his time here colours my lenses a touch, but it's a relatively sensible suggestion objectively. If we were going down the untested route, I'd rather see someone like the Cowley brothers, who've at least tasted success lower down.
  15. Gutted for him. Honestly thought AEW was going to make a star out of him
  16. That got me a bit, when they suddenly described one as 'innocent'. The irony of it being that (according to my dad, who was often in police buildings as an electrician at the time) there was talk among northern police officers of having it off with prostitutes and refusing to pay them. There will be several officers (possibly even in that documentary) degrading the victims who were prostitutes publicly, possibly to distance themselves from having used their services. People complain about the police now, but there's plenty of improvement in standards of conduct over the last 40-50 years. I hope.
  17. Fascinating insight that even the police can be dragged down red herring rabbit holes even with the evidence literally stood in front of them.
  18. If they play it smart they'd draw it out a little and have him return at the Rumble or something. They need to learn to give things time to breathe.
  19. I smell a knee-jerk to USA's 'adult content' demands.
  20. Wrestling is definitely subjective, because I don't recognise the company you're describing. With that being said, I also agreed with JR's comments to an extent. All it takes for a transition move to become a finisher is perceptive booking of that move. One of the things that baffles me about WWE's midcard is that WWE haven't utilised nobody kicking out of 'End of Days' to Baron Corbin's benefit. It could push him to an IC title reign with ease (and I don't even like him).
  21. Word for word my thoughts on AEW. And the beauty of it having multiple stories woven into one narrative means the flexibility is there to shoot off in any direction. With WWE, the storylines are so rigidly between one or two wrestlers that one botch, or spoken error, or McMahon hissyfit throws an entire story off kilter into stop-start booking. With AEW, one botch, one spoken error, the main story keeps trundling on while the mistake gets fixed within a week or two.

    Pinning Topics

I think it just shows him what's pinned and/or unpinned rather than letting him pin/unpin. I used to get them all the time too. @bazza It just means some topics are 'pinned' to the top of the message board and won't fall away once people stop posting in them as the others do.
  23. Loved it, was our first Lockdown binge watch. 'Fold in the cheese' describes every effort that my mum made to teach me how to cook 😂
  24. I'd pick Hughes. Cutting his teeth in league management with us, the evolution of style was rapid over 3-4 years, and some of my highlights as a fan came under Sparky. First match abroad, the FA Semi at Old Trafford, being there for both matches in the double over Utd, and of course THAT CHANT. Go left, go leeeeeft...
