  1. With JDT confirming that Adam Wharton will play at West Ham (so, given how he's managed him so far, he probably won't start on Sunday), I'd also go with exactly that. Otherwise I may have been tempted to stick Wharton in. Albeit not sure at the expense of who as Hedges has to start for me, he's a really intelligent player, and with Brittain and Pickering at wing back (agree that they should play on their correct sides, no need to overcomplicate it) Hedges' spot will be further forward.
  2. In an era where a mid-table Premier League team can go out and poach a manager like Unai Emery, Southampton appointing Jones would be a funny one, though obviously he's done very well at Luton. Just where is Dyche going to turn up next? Not like the 'attractive football' or 'getting a fancier name' reasoning that you often see can be applied here with them going for Jones. Unless they tried for him but he didn't fancy it, all I can think of....
  3. I see he's taken them down to his comfort zone of 13th place. Get used to it Sunderland.
  4. Chadster I’ve no idea how you can say that after last night. He’s got nothing, I can’t see any attributes. If the ball goes up to him the best you can hope for is the defender knocking it out for a throw in. He’s always a split second behind where he should be. He may physically be out there but that’s all, he’s literally just a body.
  5. Good song, but a reminder of he who shall not be named and our PL relegation season.
  6. Rovers tweeted just after 9am yesterday morning about Phase 2 being open, so presuming 9am tomorrow morning too. I'll be ready for it too praying I can get a couple of tickets.
  7. He was very good against QPR I thought on the opening day, then I think he had a couple of much quieter games but since then has been poor unfortunately. The ability is definitely there, he just needs to grasp the next chance he's given - he can't be happy at being stuck with the under 21's, he needs to play like he's got a point to prove which he didn't at Cardiff.
  8. I don’t know why anybody would clap somebody who advised his own staff to leave the ‘little car’ that is Rovers for the ‘big tanker’ that is….*checks notes*….Sunderland! WL ends here, 1-0 Rovers.
  9. Dropped for Jayson Leutwiler (now a backup GK in non-league), sold for a pittance and replaced by Christian Walton. Well done Tony.
  10. Well played Dacky. Markanday looks like he has something about him too - just taking Tuesday's line up, surely we'd have been able to offer much more going forward with Dack and Markanday instead of Szmodics and Hirst. Hirst looking like a fish out of water out on the right touchline I just can't understand in particular. Nice to see the camera the traditional (correct?) way round as well.
  11. The Millwall game last week was extremely boring, literally nothing happened in the first half. And it’d be tragic if Dack is with the under 21s. I’m hopeful he won’t be; the quotes in the LT about playing for the under 21s read differently to the tweet posted on the previous page (which implied it was about Dack, but JDT said more before it about everyone in general being ready to help the team). As @Mercersaid, the Dack question needs answering - so let’s get him in the starting eleven for a run of games and find out the answer.
  12. Think you've still got mixed up though - Curtis signed in 2000 and did lose his spot to Lucas Neill, David May was early 90s.
  13. Watching the Champions League highlights this week, numerous teams either got caught out and conceded or almost caught out when messing around with it at the back. You're more likely to be punished at that level, but you're also more likely to actually have the players to be able to build a move from the back - we therefore haven't got much hope with Ayala turning like an oil tanker or the ball bouncing off Travis (nothing against them two, Ayala in particular is excellent at defending, but they're being asked to be something they're not). I remember shaking my head in disbelief at Swansea doing it at Ewood on the opening day of last season. Feel like that's us now. We haven't been properly punished yet due to the lack of quality in the opposition and some good last-ditch defending, but it'll seriously cost us at some point. And even if we aren't punished directly, it's making us seriously blunt going forward as we aren't getting up the pitch - it wasn't a surprise to see how few touches we had in the opposition box on Tuesday, and it feels like we just don't create much overall. Hope you can fix it JDT. I'd start by getting our best players on the pitch, so it'd be Dack and Adam Wharton in on Saturday.
  14. Kick off at 12.30 now next month.
  15. If Brittain’s fully fit surely he has to be in. Even at Luton he was our best player when he came off the bench.
  16. Crystal Palace under Hodgson would lose most games and hardly score apart from Zaha getting about 10 a season, but still finish 12th-14th on 40 odd points.
  17. Hope we smash Sunderland next month.
  18. They'll never have it at night unless it's a cup replay à la 2005 - people would just take the Monday and Tuesday off work and drink all day pre-match. Looking forward to seeing whether the compulsory coach travel is still a thing.....
  19. That's great footage. Wouldn't have fancied being in that crush mind! Was Milburn's pass at 00:25 really a 'lovely pass'? He carried it well, but the pass itself.....
  20. Fowler played a one-two with Martin Olsson (there's a generation crossover) to set him up to score, so he was involved in a goal, maybe that's what people are thinking of.
  21. Do you think? I’ve seen more Burnley shirts than there used to be around the RV last few years but I just put that down to them being in the PL for a sustained period and it being a time of ‘success’ for them. I still wouldn’t have said Clitheroe is more Burnley - tragic if that has indeed been allowed to happen….
  22. I think that’ll be him yep. Few appearances in Hughes’ first season so it would have been around that time.
  23. That's a great shout. How about Jemal Johnson?
  24. The 18-game package article says this: "As well as being able to visit Ewood Park for the remainder of the Championship campaign, 18-game package holders will have priority access to home cup matches and for our away league fixtures, including those against our local rivals. The priority access schedule is as follows: Season Ticket holders + 1875 membership + away games Season Ticket holders + 1875 membership Season Ticket holders 18-game package + 1875 membership 18-game package 1875 membership General sale" From a purely selfish point of view I hope it gets to 'season ticket holders' only as I'm not an 1875 member nor have I been able to get to any away games yet (and probably won't before Burnley away).
