  1. Depressing isn't it, and I'm checking this thread far too often. If they're going to appoint a z-lister they may as well just get it over and done with.
  2. Nigel Adkins right now feels like probably the equivalent of Mowbray in 2017. Wouldn't be a surprise at all, unfortunately.
  3. "Tit hanging", anyone? "No goal, you were tittin'" 😄
  4. Absolutely. They do things like that much better abroad. Must be fewer ‘get behind the lads ffs!’ brigades. I know it was a meaningless game but here the vast majority would still be in the stadium like robots.
  5. A scrote is a scrote, doesn't matter who the opposition manager, players are etc, there'll always be knuckle draggers trying to have a go. Filming themselves while doing so of course, to show off to their mates. They're not even celebrating the win.
  6. That’s true. Normally the likes of Chris Brown come to mind when thinking of the worst Rovers player I’ve seen (and there’d be a few others from the last ten years not far behind). But you’re right, the only player I’ve seen who looked completely lost was Edinho. He had no business being on that pitch at all. It’s a disgrace he was ever signed and a disgrace he was picked to start an actual game - it would have been obvious all along he wasn’t up to it.
  7. Forest were one of the few Football League clubs never to have played at the new Wembley. Hardly any of us left now….
  8. Everton's home form has been really strong, I wouldn't be surprised if they get 4 points or something from Brentford and Palace. Things can change quickly of course but I'd say it's between you and Leeds.....if either of you manages to win a game, that's all it could take to stay up.
  9. I was surprised that Hughton was so poor at Forest but he’s a lot better than Mowbray, let’s be honest - just look at their records.
  10. The most nailed on Rovers win ever. Great goals though!
  11. Everton's home form is very strong, 10 points out of the last 12 and only one goal conceded. There'll be twists and turns and shock results (like today's - although Chelsea are an odd team atm) but, with Brentford and Palace still to come at home, plus Watford away, you'd fancy them to get out of it.
  12. What abuse is that sorry? A few shouts of "Mowbray sort it out" as we put in another limp performance at home to make it 11 points and 8 goals scored in 15 games - or is there something else I've missed, other than some posts on an internet forum?
  13. He's been too far forward most of the time to play in that way. There have been countless times at Ewood where I've seen him pick up the ball as the most advanced player with nobody in front of him to pass to, with the 'wide forwards' still being closer to the touchline than the penalty area and Travis and Rothwell hanging back. He can see a pass though and I'm sure he'd do well in a deeper role (as he isn't exactly a goal threat when playing further forward). He made a noticeable difference when he first came on against Stoke, just as you could clearly tell he had some ability. I'd have maybe had him alongside Travis. Let's be honest Johnson should never be starting ahead of him in any position.
  14. He's alright when he plays but a) is made of Weetabix and b) even if he is considered to be fit, just doesn't seem bothered about wanting to play. Going to Saudi Arabia and earning a decent whack while playing the odd game here and there would have suited him down to the ground.
  15. I definitely haven't missed hearing that. Often accompanied by "with x games in hand".
  16. What are they saying? Hopefully he'll have a sulk again all second half and we can do what we did against Derby....
  17. The food and drink being poor is bad enough but who in god’s name thought it’d be a good idea to get rid of the Rovers memorabilia? Why would it even cross your mind to do that? Once that stuff is up, it should stay up, no brainer. I haven’t actually been in since the Flitcroft and Jansen event in 2010 (!) but you can tell from pictures that it now just looks….well ‘tatty’ is the correct word!
  18. Is it Ray Stubbs that narrates those early 90s season reviews? Sounds like him. I ordered some of them fairly recently from here for really cheap - http://footydvd.co.uk . The site keeps going offline every now and then so just check but he’s back in business as of this month. Search ‘Blackburn Rovers’ in the top right search bar and the season reviews will come up from the 90s and 00/01. Great to have them. If you go to ‘Matches’ then ‘all clubs’ and find Rovers there are plenty of full 90 minute games to buy too. As for books a while back somebody lent me a sort of diary of the title winning season that Shearer kept and then released. Anybody else had or read that? I’ve barely ever heard it mentioned so get the impression it’s pretty obscure..
  19. I actually think if he left then they'd change their tune pretty quickly ("it hurts but it was the right time for him to go", something along those lines) which of course would only become their opinion upon hearing of his departure. Then they'd just forget about him and move on to getting behind the next guy. A lot of the most ardent support for Mowbray I think comes from people, especially some of what you read on social media, who just believe that you're a better fan if you don't criticise or complain about anything at the club. Odd way of thinking but that's the impression I get.
